Fantastic burritos! We tried the birria burrito and the carne asada and carnitas burrito, and both were packed with meat. The birria was incredibly tender and flavorful, while the carne asada and carnitas paired perfectly with the Mexican rice and guacamole. What really took the burritos to the next level were the salsas. The salsa verde was my favorite--it had just the right amount of spice and acidity to brighten up every bite. I also loved that they crisped the flour tortillas on the grill, which added such a satisfying texture. The food did take a little while to come out, but it was absolutely worth the wait. I also ordered the strawberry horchata, which was a great value at $6. It tasted house-made, and I loved that they used fresh strawberries. I highly recommend this food cart and I look forward to visiting this place again when I'm back in Portland read more

I'm on a bean-burrito kick and someone recommended this cart. Good one! Hefty, good beans, right amount of cheese, excellent salsa. Strawberry horchata is great too! (And I don't even like strawberry ice cream.) They blend up whole strawberries in it. Those two items are top-notch; I'll have to come back and try other stuff -- or maybe stick with the winner! I interacted with two staffers and they were both sweethearts. And there are park benches to sit and ponder Portland as you eat your burrito. Urban dining at its finest. read more

Good carne asada regular burrito. They had black beans! I always ask the taco trucks if they have black beans & very seldom do they have it but they do! And the guy there is super nice. read more

Cheers to this truck for being in a tough area! Right off Burnside in a "park" that scares off most, you will probably take your food to go. The service is quick and the staff are friendly. $13 for the "taco plate" with 4 tacos filled with your choice of meat. I chose Al pastor for all 4, but I imagine you can mix it up. They don't skimp on cilantro, which I appreciate. It came with some grilled peppers, which I didn't eat much. Overall, pretty decent tacos. read more

We hadn't been to Kim Jong since they moved to Cartblocks so we decided to check them out. Now, I love KJG, but they were out of almost everything by the time we got there. My husband got something there, but I meandered on over to this cart. I love tortas so much, but I recently have been liking birria too. It can be hard to choose between the two. I had not heard of this cart before, so I decided to check out the menu... sweet swirling asparagus tips!! They have a birria torta! It's like a flipping French dip but with a delicious torta instead. I immediately ordered it. It came with hot sauce and consommé. I couldn't wait to get home to try it. It was amazing!!! So delicious. Absolutely a new fave. I can't wait to go back. So many good carts in this pod!! read more

I can emphatically say that the birria tacos were the best I've ever eaten. The tacos and consume married together perfectly with a hefty portion of beef and garnishes. The only regrets I have is not ordering more. read more

Clean, fast, tasty. And they have proper veggie tacos, which tasted great. Chorizo was delicious too. Chicken could be more grilled though. This is inside The Cart Blocks square. There's some shared covered seating in the square. And ample street parking in the 1-2 blocks surrounding it. read more

I took a pic of the yummy Birrias and the sauce too! Delicious! But I also got a giant burrito with chicken and shrimp! The quality of the burrito was way beyond a traditional restaurant! Just had the worst experience at this place. Staff was incredibly rude to me! I ordered an all-meat al pastor burrito. They charged me an extra $3 to exclude beans and rice! Then after waiting over 10 minutes I was given the wrong order. I assumed it was just a mistake and went back to ask if they can give me the correct order. They guy helping me (who refused to give me his name) became instantly hostile and refused to correct the mistake. He even had the nerve to tell me to go to Chipotle if I didn't like it! He then, very rudely, offered to return my money but only on the condition that I throw away the food in the trash where he can see me do it. UNBELIEVABLE!! Worst experience I've ever had at a food truck in Portland, OR... and that's saying a lot. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. read more

The carnitas tacos are the best I've ever had. And I come from Arizona where there's great Mexican food. You have to get it. The carnitas falls apart and is juicy and tender. Ask for corn on the tacos. It adds a little something. A pop. I can Only imagine how good everything else is. But I can't try. I have to get those tacos!Taco Combo is best. read more

I've been here at least three different times and this ordered three different items, and the only item I've liked were the quesadillas. The rest of the food I ordered (a chicken burrito and chicken torta) was flavorless, which is a shame because it looked really really good. I never thought I'd complain about the lack of seasonings at an authentic Mexican restaurant, but unfortunately I've discovered that such a thing exists. Ordered: Chicken Torta Deluxe-- This is a classic Mexican spin on the sandwich, with eggs, beans, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, and chicken added all on toasted bread. Though the toasted bread was pretty delicious and flavorful, the rest of the sandwich really lacked any sort of taste. It really needed seasoning and the salsa didn't help at all. Service: Great, they've been very pleasant people to deal with during every visit. Wait Time: 5 minutes. Bill: $ read more

I was so excited to finally visit the ethnic food trucks in downtown Portland. The biggest problem is, everything looks so delicious and it's hard to decide which cuisine to choose from. I was in the mood for Mexican food and I found Villa. There was a line so I knew it was good. Although lunchtime was sort of calming down so the line went quickly. I was greeted by a lovely and kind young woman who took my order. I ordered a burrito and added extra avocado to it. It was very big in portion and it only cost me about $11. Walking around is so fun because you get the Portland culture and vibe! The burrito was so yummy and I had to eat it and breaks, it was so large. Be on empty stomach if you order this because it is very filling. I highly recommend this food truck, I wish I had been able to stop by more! Let's EAT! read more

The strawberry horchata here is to die for! People are super kind, and the prices are extremely fair :)

Delicious! My wife & I had the al pastor tacos with habanero salsa (spicy, but really good) and a strawberry horchata; the food was excellent & authentic and the horchata was so indulgent. The owners of the cart are also very nice & everything is very clean. The tacos reminded me of street cart meals I've eaten in Mexico :) I can't recommend Villa Angel enough! read more

This spot is by my work and it's my absolute favorite lunch option, so delicious every single time! The service is always friendly, the wait isn't too bad for how fresh the food is, and the ingredients feel very fresh and high quality! Honestly my favorite Mexican food in all of Portland. Try their verde sauce- If they ever decide to bottle it I'd be buying in bulk! read more

Still trying to find Mexican food that will please my Californian born-and-bred taste buds. This place has decent burritos for $7 (and "big" burritos with twice the meat for $8). I liked that they were filled with allll the essentials: beans, rice, sour cream, guac, lettuce, and pico de gallo and all the ingredients were pretty evenly distributed. Every bite was delicious. As an added twist the burritos were lightly grilled before being neatly wrapped up and bagged. They offer two salsas/hot sauces in hot and mild (green and red -- though honestly it was hard to tell which was which). The red sauce was smokey-spicy and the green was very citrus-y. Both pretty good and medium-hot. I'm a Valentina hot sauce kind of girl myself, which these certainly were not. Good enough for a return trip -- I'm excited to try their breakfast burritos. Unsure of the hours, but can confirm they are open for dinner during the week at least till 7pm and also on the weekends (including Sundays) read more

I've been 3x and each time ordered a fantastic classic Carne asada burrito minus lettuce. I'd place them top two or three in all of greater PDX. More So. Cal baha style burritos, at least for my order, which I loved! The hot sauces are just as good and authentic. One of those places where you can taste the love. Legit! read more

Food truck Realness! Walked around food truck village on a Friday night, was disappointed that hardly anything was open. Mostly middle eastern cuisine. Stumbled across this little taco spot and with a line outside I knew it was going to be a hit. Ordered the 3 taco combo that came with beans and rice. It took about 10 min to get the food, which didn't surprise me with the line. And it was worth it. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The tacos were perfect size for a mid evening snack/dinner - quick stop to get food in the stomach before continuing to drink for the night - the rice was a nice balance, it was just a simple white rice with a side of beans that had great flavor. Best part, they accept GrubHub delivery orders. So if you aren't in the mood to walk down, or if the weather sucks, order for delivery and give this place a shot! read more

Noe knows how to make a TACO! The al pastor is unreal! Best horchata in town! This cart is something special.

Decided to try this place for late night after wine tasting around Portland wine bars. The pollo quesadilla with the spicy salsa was actually delicious. Very large portion size and the salsa was unique and flavorful aside from just being spicy. Check this spot out for comforting cheesy goodness! read more

Got a burrito bowl here a few days ago and it was incredibly good! A little bit expensive, but pretty worth it in my opinion.

With food trucks it's often a gamble but being that they were one of the only places open on a Sunday me and my wife went for it and were glad we did! By far the most savory Mexican food we have in Portland our entire trip and we tried four different restaurant/food trucks. If you love horchata then this is also the best we've had and you definitely go for it too! read more

I love this place! Everything I've had has been good, - al pastor being the best, but the chorizo and carnitas are wonderful too - but the real reason I'm writing this review is the green salsa. They put citrus in it (orange juice, I think) and it's absolutely fantastic. I haven't found another salsa in town that compares to it. You know, now that I'm writing this, I think I'm going to go get a breakfast burrito right now. read more

Ordered the veggie tacos (4 for $7). They came with some grilled veggies (mushroom, squash, zucchini), a slice of avocado each, and a teeny bit of pico. I like that the tacos are street-sized, but they needed more ingredients. Some beans or cheese, something else to make it hearty-er. The green salsa was super lime-y and vinegary. Wish they hadn't forgotten the red salsa. Service was friendly and prices were decent, I would try one of their veggie burritos next time. read more
