1-Star Review for Dishonesty and Poor Customer Service My experience with Gint has gone from bad to worse. I originally left an honest 2-star review of my experience with him and his business and unfortunately have been met with dishonest responses and interactions from the owner, I am updating it to 1 star. Gint operates multiple accounts (search "Sprinkler Systems") to increase his chances of being hired. My initial review was flagged because I duplicated my review on both his accounts. Gint responded to my quote inquiry through Sprinkler Systems as "Rosa" but clearly operates under View Scape Design as that how I was invoiced and paid the checks to. I'm now following Yelp's guidelines and posting separate reviews for each business interaction. Unfortunately, Gint has resorted to making false accusations, including blaming my children for breaking the sprinklers and claiming I'm a disgruntled ex-employee, which is completely untrue. Review of the scope: We hired Gint for drainage and sprinkler work. Some parts went fine, but other aspects left us dissatisfied. Drainage System: The French drain installation was effective, and we've had no backyard flooding since. We're satisfied with this part of the job. Sprinkler Replacement: Gint replaced our brass sprinkler heads with plastic ones, but one broke within a month. After installation, he noticed the sprinkler head didn't retract properly but blamed it on high water pressure. We felt the sprinkler was defective from the start. (Photos attached.) Drip Irrigation and Lawn Removal: Communication could have been better, especially regarding the drip irrigation. Gint didn't inform us that the landscaping needed to be completed first. As for lawn removal, we were charged $1,000 for roughly 400 sq ft, but it turned out only 1 inch of soil was removed, leaving roots and plastic webbing. Gint claimed this was standard, but other landscapers quoted us less for a thorough 3-4 inch removal. I reached back out upon discovering the lawn's state after being charged such an amount and mostly wanted an explanation, an apology, admitting the job was not completed properly. He stood by his quality of work which is absolutely his right. I want to share this experience and hope others who decide to hire him don't go through the same thing. read more

Buyer beware, I would not recommend using this service. Unfortunately what Gint told us and what happened were two very different things. The quality of work performed was sloppy, and he agreed. After dragging his feet to provide a solution, he blames the vendor and said nothing could be done. His demeanor and dialogue was disrespectful and condescending to my wife, I would strongly reconsider if you are evaluating this company to provide you services. read more

I had an amazing experience with Gint. He was able to schedule an appointment with me which I had to cancel then he was able to reschedule with me. He was very patient, accommodating and knowledgeable. He came to our location on time. Replaced my sprinkler box and also added a water pressure regulator. In April, after 2 years of being so frustrated with my newly installed but old-timer irrigation system, and my original installer refusing to install a smart irrigation system, I came to yelp to find an installer. I contacted Gint using the contact information on Yelp, and he quickly got back to me. He was able to come out in a few days, and assess my issue. He replaced my Rainbird with a Rachio. And, then when we discovered that the Rachio plug was would not fit in my outdoor outlet, he was able to make a recommendation and I quickly brought in an electrician to finish things up. One of the things that was so great about Gint is his patience and that he's really tries to help his clients get what they need. For example, my sprinkler system needed some repairs and someone else could have gouged me. Gint took his time to test the system and then told me what to say to my original gardener installation team. I was so happy with Gint I hired him come back and do the repair. The thing about home repair work like this is people are often out to make a buck off of the client's ignorance: not Gint. My review is very late, but it's from the heart. Gint responded promptly to my call for assistance with incomplete work from another sprinkler company. He was open about the extensive nature of the repairs needed. As he excavated, it became clear that the previous work was poorly executed, leading to additional issues. He completed all necessary repairs within the day, even working into the evening to ensure everything was finished. I value his dedication and effort. After experiencing numerous issues ( with highly-rated sprinkler repair companies on Yelp, I will definitely rely on Gint for future landscaping design projects. read more

We live on a corner house and have a fence that wraps around the perimeter of the front yard. The only part of the front yard that wasn't landscaped was the dirt area on the outside of the fenced perimeter that is about a foot and a half deep. Met Gint at my house and showed him what we needed to have done. He gave me a reasonable quote that night and the following week his crew came out and knocked it out in 2-3 days. View Scape Design was always very responsive and easy to work with. No frills. Plus, they did a really nice job as well. Wouldn't hesitate to work with them again! read more

I only recommend companies when I had a superb experience. I contracted View Scape to do a number of different landscaping projects on our hillside. Gint and his team were fantastic to work with on a number of different levels. He's super responsive to requests and research, diligent in his follow-up and patient in walking us through updates/progress. The team always showed up on time, did a thorough clean up every day, and was very respectful of our property. Very happy with the end product which included multiple retaining walls, new plantings, and updated irrigation. Wish I had found View Scape Design first. The owner Gint was available, on time and a total follow through professional- - rare these days. He was able to fix a haphazard original landscaping job that was installed and really not that durable - actually I'd say incomplete as there were things left unsecured and confused parts put together and key parts that were missing. Gint explained what was missing and causing the garden to malfunction, to crash. He resuscitated our native garden. Now the birds, bees and butterflies are happy, as are we. There were multiple issues to correct: 1. Irrigation was not functioning correctly, causing overwatering in some areas and under watering in others also pressure building up in the system too These gardens need like no water 2. There was massive weed overgrowth 3. Some of the wood features were never bolted in, and he made sure to secure things. We will be working with him again He came in on budget even with the extra material needed as the extra time was not needed, for the work. Gint responded to my Yelp quote request immediately and requested some photos to diagnose the problem and estimate the cost. He came out the same day to replace the timer, and fix the leaking pipe. Awesome experience having a yard drain extended from the side yard to front. They did it quickly, properly and cleaned my yard afterwards. They even put the grass back in its place.Gint knows his stuff. He knows about drainage and how to install it properly and helped to correct drainline mistakes from my prior contractor. Gint was the absolute best! He was super communicative, always on time, very transparent, thoughtful, kind, friendly, and trustworthy throughout the whole process. I needed help with my front and back yards, getting rid of weeds, trimming bushes, trees, getting rid of bugs, and clearing all of the debris out. He also re-did the DG and stabilizer around the back and side of the house, installing a barrier for weed control. I feel like he went above and beyond and took so much care for my property. View Scape Design The Company, representative Gint from View Scape Design is pleasant, professional, and works very hard to satisfy the customer, and to lay out the design of the project in detail with pictures and he's easy to work with. He's a gold star in this companies representatives. The only downside I found is the workers who were sloppy in the work, and in detail to return the finished project to the point that it looked like they were never here. You do have to keep your eye on the workers working. Gint on the other hand, came back and made things right thank you Gint. read more

I called View Landscape Design because I had a new lawn (Marathon II) and irrigation system installed less than a year ago. Unfortunately, sections of the lawn have died and the original installer refused to answer my calls or emails. After repeated calls, the original installer finally came out to my house and said that the sprinkler heads needed to be changed out because they were not providing "undercut coverage" for sections of the lawn close to the sprinkler heads. By this time, these sections of the lawn were brown and dead. Once a Marathon II fescue lawn dies, there is no bringing it back. The original installer refused to take any corrective action to reseed the lawn or replace the dead sections with new sod. This is when I called Gint at View Landscape Design to get a professional opinion of the condition of the soil, whether there was any bug infestation, and the coverage of the lawn from the irrigation system. In other words, I wanted to determine why the lawn had died. Gint was professional and meticulous. He measured the pH of the soil of the lawn, dug out certain sections to assess the soil, ran the sprinklers to test the coverage of the irrigation system, and measured off the lawn to determine what it would take to correct the problem. He spent time to gather objective data, make a thorough analysis, and render a well thought out solution to correct what was done wrong. Yes, I should have hired him the first time around to do the work. But thank God there are honest, reliable, and hard-working guys who take pride in their work to do the job right. I would recommend Gint of View Landscape Design without hesitation. This will save you a lot of headaches. read more

I'd been having scaling issues in some hedges and had been taken for a ride by a previous contractor who was very unresponsive. When I wanted a second opinion on the scaling, Gint stepped in and explained everything, and had a solution that made sense. Along with solving the scaling, Gint is also taking care of the rest of my yard and it's finally looking good. I hired this company on3/29/18. Prior to signing the contract Gint explained in great detail what he had in mind for our front yard. We wanted a weed free yard and beauty to enhance our property. He explained that a white base color stone with a river bed flowing would look great. He explained that he would use the best barrier used by landscape experts. The base would be covered by 2 inches of white stone and the river bed with two sizes of river stones. Drought resistant plants of his choice would complete scene. The contract did not show all the details as he explained but at the time my wife and me felt Gint would take care of us. Finished the yard looked great..........but weeds began to spring up here and there. He had given me his phone #. I called him and he promised he would come by to check and to spray the weeds. He explained that from time to time around the edge a weed could show up and that a shot or weed killer would take care of the problem.........and he explained that the barrier would successfully stop weeds and that they would die under the barrier. He was unable to spray because his sprayer was broken. I have repeated called and left messages on his phone and I even emailed the firm with no response. I had given the firm 5 star rating within days of the the job completion but had I waited a few months and witnessed the lack of follow up and support the star rating is about 1 to 2. Fact......we were promised the best possible barrier and now we have weeds in front portion and single weeds coming up in various areas. Fact..... the stone coverage was to be 2 inches and in some areas it it 1 inch.. Fact......when I placed a follow up review on HomeAdvisor to reflect the new rating of 1 and 1/2, Gint replied with falsehoods. I would advise people go elsewhere, or at least get every detail on paper. I do not take writing this lightly but I hope it will help others. read more
