Over 14 days ago, I scheduled a morning appointment with this company for a quote. I don't live at the property, so I drove nearly two hours to get there. Just as I arrived on time, I received a message telling me they need to reschedule the appointment. I let the owner know I had already made the trip, and he told me to give him 20 minutes. When he arrived, we discussed the scope of the project, and I was hoping for some guidance or direction. Unfortunately, he didn't have much input and struggled to name even a few plants to recommend. Then he asked to borrow my tape measure because he had forgotten his, which didn't inspire much confidence. After measuring everything, he said he'd work on the quote and get it over to me in the next day or two at the latest. That was May 3rd (15 days ago), and I haven't heard from him since. He seemed young and unorganized, but the overall experience was 1 star--last-minute cancellation, late arrival, unprepared, lacking insight, and no follow-up. With all the red flags, this business has a lot to learn about professionalism. I do not do business with people like this. read more

Miguel and his team worked in our back yard summer 2022. Lomas Verdes landscaping was the most reasonable quote I found compared to other companies. We had decomposed granite (DG), sprinklers with sprinkler system, St. Agustine grass, and synthetic grass installed. There were a few details we noticed at the end but I really appreciated Miguel always getting back to my phone calls and texts to resolve small details. I found the company nonresponsive, not friendly, borderline rude. I needed 7 new sprinkler valves and a bunch of new irrigation. I have a little less than a half acre lot. The man was not friendly. He acted like he did not want to be here. He didn't take any photos or write anything down for the estimate. I asked him why he wasn't taking any photos or writing anything but he said he didn't need to do that. He was acting bored the whole time. And of course, the estimate never came. read more

Lomas Verdes Landscaping was one of the first companies to respond to my request on Yelp and offered a free estimate. Miguel came out, gave me an honest and affordable price, and quickly rewired my sprinkler stations (after several cords were severed due to previous gardeners' weed whacking and gophers). He reassured me that my currently sad looking lawn has good grass and will look better (especially now that all stations are watering like they're supposed to). Though the rewiring solved the problem and he could have left it at that, one of the cords was cut so close to the solenoid, that he advised getting it replaced so that it wouldn't come undone (yet again). He couldn't do it that afternoon, as he needed to find the part, but offered to come back the following business day. When an issue came up on another job that he was working on, he notified me that he wouldn't be able to make it and would come back the following day. He arrived early and was able to also move a sprinkler head a few feet away from the street, so that cars that park on the city's side of our yard (as we don't have sidewalks) would stop damaging our sprinkler, all for a fraction of what one company quoted and another charged just for travel. Though his company doesn't have many yard maintenance customers in my area, he was kind enough to provide an estimate for what it should cost and offered to see if he knows anyone in the area who could do it.
