I can't remember how I was recommended to Genevieve, but it was seriously love at first Balayage, and I was so in-love I followed her after Gene Juarez. Sounds a bit crazy right? But I'm telling you, once you find "the one" it's seriously hard to not go to anyone else. From full to partial, blondes to purples, I have been satisfied with ever color change. Genevieve is very skilled with Balayage, so I will say she is worth the high price. She is very hard to get an appt with so if you want an appt within 2 months? Good luck and you'll probably want to go elsewhere. I loved going to her but the last appt was so disappointing and I haven't been back since. It was just one thing on top of another that made the whole experience such a let down (on top of spending $200-250). She forgot her cape so I ended up with bleach spots on my shirt, and she forgot her flat iron and curling iron so my hair was blown dry but sooooo not cute. I was trying to overlook it all but later when I was at home trying to make it look better I noticed how spotty it looked in the mirror. I personally found Gen through Instagram and texted her to set up an appointment. I was being a little difficult with dates but she's super flexible and accommodating. I came in with an old balayage that needed some freshening up. I wanted it lighter and closer to my roots. I showed her one picture and she knew exactly what I wanted! She also offers Olaplex, which she explained to me was a hair bonder, all I know is it left my hair in better condition than it was before I came in. And this is after bleach!! I'm a believer, you should be too. My hair was lookin' too fab. Her salon is just one of many inside the Mosaic Salon Group but it's awesome to go into her place and having your own little space. It's like walking into an old friend's house- warm and inviting and she even offers little refreshments! On top of her talent, Gen is SO sweet and funny. I had just met her on the day of my appointment but it felt like I had known her forever! I echo previous comments that if I could give her a 10 star I would! It took a while to get in her schedule but she is definitely worth it. I am a very particular person, especially about my hair which was damaged by a choppy balayage (was rectified of course for another $$$ with unwanted results) last year by Moda salon in Edmonds. I spent twice the amount for a horrible service, anxiety attack and damaged hair last year and more time and money to grow and keep my over processed always tangled hair from driving me nuts. Long story short, V is definitely worth the wait time, money and drive coz I am definitely following her to the new Millcreek location! I can't rave enough about Gen of Vieve Hair Studio! I found her a couple years ago on Instagram and loved the photos of all her work so I decided to give her a try. She has never failed to amaze me. I live in Chelan mostly now but drive all the way back to Seattle just to get my hair done by Gen! She listens to what you want but also uses her expertise to get you to your #hairgoal! She is also just a doll to talk to and makes my 2-3 hour hair appointment go by quickly with many chats and giggles! Genevieve is very unresponsive, does not make any effort to accommodate her clients and provides poor customer service. The 2 month wait for an appointment is not worth it. She did not reply to multiple messages, meanwhile posting on her Instagram instead. There are so many other hairstylists in the greater Seattle area who are good at balayage AND provide decent customer service unlike Genevieve. I recommend skipping Vieve Hair Studio altogether. Go somewhere where customers are valued and prioritized over shameless self promotion. read more

Genevieve is my go to lady for all my hair needs. She definitely understands my crazy, and is very knowledgable at what she does. I love how she explains the process of hair processing, and let's me know up front what I can and cannot achieve in a single hair appointment (to avoid hair damage). I've seen her twice already, and both times I was kind of indecisive on what I wanted to do. If only I could give Genevieve more than 5 stars! She is, hands down, the best Colorist I have ever had work on my hair. I have been seeing her for 5 years first while she was at Gene Juarez and now at Mosiac in Edmonds where she is currently. Genevieve is professional and incredibly knowledgeable about all forms of hair color. But Balayage and Foilayage are her specialty. Over the years she has taken me from my natural very black to mostly blonde (as it's much easier to cover the grays this way). I would recommend her to ANYONE! She has enough knowledge of color to help her clients achieve their best look without being over or under processed. I can honestly say I have NEVER left her chair unhappy with her work. Ignore any review that gives her less than 5 stars, because clearly the problem is the client's. Don't walk in looking like you just rolled out of bed and expect to leave looking like Barbie. It is NOT her job to manage your unreasonable expectations! If you hop from hairdresser to hairdresser and are never happy with the result, then look at the one constant in each instance...YOU! I CHOOSE to drive from North Snohomish County to her shop in Edmonds because she is amazing at her job! I think it's important to note that yes, scheduling and confirming with her via text is the best way to interact with her and in 5 years I have NEVER been "ghosted" by her. She is a professional. You can expect that from her. In today's technology driven world there WILL be times when a glitch happens and maybe a text is missed but in those times you put on your BIG girl pants and just relax. No one person and no technology will ever be 100% all the time. And trashing a professional in a review because of a missed text or two shows nothing but a reviewer's unreasonable expectation and pettiness. Any hair Colorist who regularly schedules out 8-10 weeks is clearly in-demand and is the reason why I book a year at a time with her. Not responsive, the only way to schedule an appointment is by text according to Instagram/her website it says. I texted about a week ago, thinking maybe she's busy that's why, but after waiting for week still no response but has time to update other social media. If there is no openings near, at least a response saying there isn't then none at all would have been appreciated. I've been seeing Gen for god knows how many years, I've followed her to the new of the earth, and after a mishap with my previous long term colorist-I will let nobody else color my hair! She's amazing, she's honest (even if you don't want to hear it), and truly amazing at what she does. Genevieve is the best!! I had virgin hair and was super scared to go lighter but she definitely knows what she's doing and is so personable that you feel really comfortable in the chair. Felt like I was just having girl talk the whole time. But her balayage skills are great and she's really knowledgeable with hair. To be honest I'm no expert when it comes to coloring (though I at least know a bad balayage when I see it) but all my friends said she did a wonderful job with my hair and I'm very pleased! Ghosted by Genevieve. I had one appointment with her and it was fine. My hair color didn't blow me away, but it was fine. I set up the next appointment for 2 months later. Then I sent her 2 texts (text is the only way to reach her): one to ask for hair cut recommendation (no response) and the other one to confirm my upcoming appointment (no response). Because she did not confirm back to me about my appointment I had no idea if it was still on so there was no way I was going to drive the 15 miles to her salon. Honestly, after years of failed hair colors and embarrassment, it's so relieving to find someone who I trust w/ my hair! One of my friends recommended I look up Gen's Instagram and I was so impressed w/ her work and HAD to have her work her magic on me. It's amazing what social media can do nowadays because I was able to see a wide variety of her work on many different clients. When I first texted her inquiring about prices and minor details, she was so sweet and very helpful and reassuring. I came into her salon w/ hair that had at least 3 different colors and I needed help BAD. When I first walked in, I was amazed by the concept of her salon! She had her own personal space in a room that had all the essentials. It was great & super clean and organized. She even had a snack jar and mini fridge which I thought was super accommodating.
