We have eaten here three times now and I highly recommend. We were introduced to this place by Tony who runs the Sunnybank food tours. The first time we went here was right after they closed for about three months for renovations. It is a surprisingly clean and modern Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. As westerners we have found the menu a little overwhelming but the staff are only too accommodating and help with suggestions. In fact this time the manager came to our table and pointed out a special, then proceeded to order for us. She said oh I know what you'll like. And she was right. Out comes the bbq meats, fried rice and a bean and pork dish which were all amazing. Best fried rice I've ever had. She even recommended Chinese beer to match our food. All served up amazingly quick, with complimentary hot green tea. We paid $61 for three dishes including beer and tea and we took home leftovers. This is the kind of secret Asian restaurant westerners need to know about. A must try next time you're in Sunnybank.

The staff got my order wrong. No problems at all…read more But the owner came out yelling at us telling us that either we pay double or the staff will be and for us to explain to him what happened. Horrible guy and feel so bad for the staff. Good was pretty bad as well. The meat in my pho bowl was so fatty. So gross. Do not go here

Garden City and their new Town Square dining precinct have you covered. I was all set to keep to my usual stop at Motto Motto until I was assured I'd not regret a visit to dine at PH by Pho Hung (directly opposite the geometric prints of Motto Motto). I think my secret source knew her stuff. Set amongst clean white walls with black illustrations and yellow accents, PH is a more modern version of their well-known Sunnybank restaurant. Despite it's location they're serving a reasonably full sit-in menu with a few take-away options. Their tagline: "Vietnamese delight authentic food" rings true as each meal is made to order. Once sat by the friendly staff I opted for the beef wrapped in betel leaves and a grilled prawn vermicelli salad bowl. Note to self: you don't need anything else when ordering the salad bowl. These are huge and I'd dare to say enough for two and their special fish sauce is the star of the dish. If you're a fan of fresh flavours, fast and friendly service and a meal that leaves you feeling satisfied and full of health -- PH is your bet in this neck of the woods.
