When they say this sandwich is hot, we would call it Minnesota hot. We all agreed, the water had an unusual taste. This impacted the water and any soda our table had. My partner was diagnosed with lung cancer in March of 2021. Chemo and radiation destroyed his lung and he ended up a severe case of what is called pneumonitis which has caused permanent damage to his lung beside what the cancer has done. As a result he has a chronic cough from the fibrosis in his lung and burned esophagus from the radiation treatments . We rarely go out as we are concerned as everyone about COVID ,vaccinated and all, ....if my partner got COVID it would most likely take his life. Please educate yourself people . We are tested regularly for COVID and we Do Not Have it. I am in disbelieve of what happened today as we are respected professionals in our community . God Bless the stupid in the world . It isn't a huge place, and I wouldn't want it to be. It feels intimate, comfortable, and wonderfully authentic with warm and friendly service. There's a sense of history when you walk in. You can almost feel the presence of all the people who have stopped in over the years, shared a drink, had a meal, listened to music, and left a little bit of their story behind. They also have live entertainment from time to time, which fits the atmosphere perfectly. And then there are the pizzas! That's one of my favorite reasons to stop in. They're absolutely delicious and well worth the visit all by themselves. The Barrel House can be easy to overlook if you're passing along Main Street--blink and you might miss it--but don't. Look for it, stop in, soak up the atmosphere, and order yourself a pizza. It's a unique little piece of Red Wing with a whole lot of character, and I'm very glad it's here.
