It looks to have been a house in the area that was converted into a Thai restaurant, so it isn't surprising that the atmosphere inside has a very "homey" feel to it. There is parking behind the house so you just need to watch out for the turning off from Henley Beach road as it is easy to miss if you're driving too fast. The entire building is purple so that in itself makes it easy to spot as you're driving down the road. They have a nice selection of curries and laksa. Nothing out of this world, but good enough to satisfy the palate when in need of something spicy. Normally I will go here for lunch and will order one of their specials which comes with a meal and a beer for around $15-$16. Alone, most of their lunch mains are less than $10 so its really affordable if you're not looking to spend too much. Good service and affordable, overall, a nice quaint Thai place over along Henley Beach road.

If you don't specify, they serve you the fish whole ... the only way to eat fish. As with many Thai folks, they fry fish really well here: crispy from nose to tail. I found out that the chef is from the northern regions of Thailand, which explains the more-than-usual green leafy stir fries available. Situated in an old bungalow, the ambience is lovely though not really a priority for me when I want good food. We also had the roast duck curry (not my choice) which was okay, as with all other roast duck curries. As always with great South-East Asian cooking, eaten with steamed rice is best. I will definitely return to try the other chef's specialties. Don't stick to the usual spring rolls, deep fried whatever and special fried rice or pad thai - they have a lovely menu.

The menu doesn't state that it's served with rice and I asked the waitress at time of ordering. Not in the mood for the $5 beer special, I had a glass of lemon, lime and bitters. I asked for table water and a carafe was delivered to our table with two glasses. The meals were promptly delivered and the size satisfying for lunch at a great prices. I called up to place our order, then received only a "Thank you, goodbye" in response. No, "So you ordered...." or "So that comes to..." I was a little worried. Half an hour later when the food showed up, we were charged $5 extra than I had calculated. Apparently, we weren't in their approved 5km radius. I get annoyed at stuff like this, especially when I'm hungry and could have got an extra special fried rice with that fiver! But what can you do? I don't think calling up again would achieve anything. So we ate our pad thai and combination chop suey with large special fried rice. The chop suey was tasty enough, but nothing special, and the rice didn't have a lot of flavour (or many ingredients to make it 'special'). The pad thai had melded into clumps, and had little flavour except for spice. What I love most in a good pad thai is its peanut flavour, but there was little here. Overall, a disappointment. We'll have to keep looking for a local favourite take-away.
