This restaurant has been here for the longest I can remember. This place is super tiny, run down. The staff are semi friendly unless you know how to speak their language then they're super nice and will serve you your food quicker (from what I noticed and my experience). There are flies flying everywhere. The food used to be good but now it's mid. The waiters doesn't check up if you're doing good either or ask to refill your water. I asked for a to-go box, the guy in the red seemed like he was going to get it for me when he said yes, he never came back and acted like our interaction never happened. The spring rolls are mid, the peanut sauce is ok not as flavorful. The fried rice tastes ok too. Their eggrolls are super good and crunchy tho. I ordered the vermicelli noodles, it was also mid. We always come here every time we're craving for authentic Vietnamese cuisine (mainly) Pho, rice plates, vermicelli bowls and fried eggrolls. The lady that works there knows us and always has a smile every time she sees us. Regardless, how slow or busy it is whether it's early morning or evening dining. There's ample parking on a small parking lot. The food is very flavorful and is always consistent no matter when you dine here. We usually get the Pho Combo #4, the fried egg rolls, vermicelli bowl w/ BBQ pork, grilled shrimp and eggrolls, and the #49 rice plate with fried rice. Finally decided to make a visit to Viet Ha for dinner. I first heard about Viet Ha from someone on instagram, who raved about their bun and that they have the best crispy cha gio. First, service was slow but expected since the lady at the cash register does everything (takes dine-in and phone orders, takes your payment, cleans the table, etc) so please be patient and understanding. From what I heard, she can speak English, Vietnamese, and Cantonese. I ordered #22 while my hubs got #18. The only difference with mine was the grilled shrimp. From looking at the reviews on yelp it looks like lots of people's favorite was #22. The portion is huge! They give you lots of meat and lots of noodles. Neither my husband nor I could finish all the noodles they give you so great for people who are really hungry. One bowl could definitely be shared by two. Taste-wise, we thought it was just ok. The cha gio was pretty big. It is wrapped in rice paper so the texture was pleasantly chewy and crispy and filled with generous amount of ground pork filling. I wouldn't call it the best cha gio I've ever had. The shrimp was a bit dry most likely being over grilled. The grilled pork was plentiful and tasty. Overall, I would give it 3/5 and my hubs gave his a 2/5. Would we return? Probably not, but I would say go once just to try out the cha gio. read more

If you like Vietnamese grilled pork, you have to get it from here! A pound of their grilled pork is about $17 and it lasts for so many meals. It's flavorful, savory, delicious, and perfectly cooked. It also comes with some sweet fish sauce on the side. A tip I have is to call and place an order beforehand so that you can just pick it up right when it is done cooking. Service is friendly, fast, and their timing is always accurate. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small, but cozy. Sometimes when they cut the grilled pork into pieces, they cut it up a little too much, so I would ask them to not cut it when I order it. Great food, great portions, great price. 80% of the time, I usually get the 9A chicken noodle soup, but over the last few times I've been coming, I decided to try a couple different dishes I've never ordered before. Here's my rankings on what I've tried here over the years: 9A. Chicken noodle soup, 8/10 Beef combo pho, 7/10 Egg rolls, 7/10 Combination Plate #1, 9/10 43. Charbroiled pork rice plate, 6/10 Bun Rieu, 7/10 22. Charbroiled pork vermicelli, 7.5/10 My conclusion, the Combination Plate #1 is bomb and will definitely be a go to for me if I'm not feeling noodle soup. What prompted me to write a review today is their good pricing for sacramento area. While many places raised their prices due to inflation, thisnplace has kept its decent prices. I don't see many places have a nice ful bowl of vermicelli griled pork with egg rolls for $13.50. Yup not many in Sacramento. The Pho bowl is $12.50 and you can see the menu for all their prices. I can't justify paying $18-$20 for soup noodles or Pho anymore. It shouldn't cost that much but thats my opinion. I just eat out less with these crazy prices. read more

Trust me, look it up on the menu--it's a must-try. I'll include a photo for reference! I don't dine in often; it's my go-to pick-up spot when I'm craving #22. Ordering is super easy. I call ahead, and within 20 minutes, my food is ready to pick up. Quick, simple, and convenient. The portions are incredibly generous, easily feeding two people. I can never finish it all with the abundance of noodles and vegetables provided. I've also tried their pork chop over rice, and just like #22, the portions are huge. Their pho and other rice plates are decent, but #22 remains the "fav" for me. Parking is usually not an issue unless it's busy, but most people grab their food and go, so it's pretty manageable. Prices are reasonable, and the food tastes great. It's definitely a hit-or-miss spot depending on what you order, but overall, I've had a good experience here. Was craving soup on a cold Friday night. Specifically BBH and remembered hearing Viet Ha having tasty BBH from the foodies around Sac. I haven't been there in ages since highschool years ago. Last I been there I had other items and remember food was good. We showed up a little past 7 and they closed by 8pm but the doors were locked. There were two other parties dinning in, one in which I was able to see have not ordered yet. So unsure of why it was locked. As we turn to walk away a worker opened it up and told us to come in and that they're still open. Could be for safety late night reasons being the area. We sat down and got our orders in quickly as we knew what we wanted. Server was quick to tend to us, and the food came out pretty fast as well. Food was hot and fresh. I lovvvved my BBH! Broth was hearty and packed with tons of flavors. No complaints but it was a little different from other BBH I've had before. No pork bone chunks or meat patty. There was blood. I would come back just for this soup. My sister got a vermicelli dish and that bowl was loaded! Packed to the brim! Came with a spring wrapped eggroll rather than a regular eggroll. The nuoc mam sauce was delicious not too sweet or fishy. She liked how they used the smaller noodles for this dish. Place has updated a bit it's bright and welcoming. Haven't been to this spot in a decade and my most recent visit was a good reminder of why this spot has been around so long and survived the pandemic, despite the limited parking spaces, narrow passageways, and dated furniture. Use to always order the dry vermicelli as well as the rice plates, and the vermicelli dish was just as good, if not better than it was back in the day. The beef pho was perfectly proportioned and flavorful. The beef balls even had tendons, which is quite rare, given that they are typically more pricey than regular beef balls, let alone during a period of historically high inflation, leading other restaurants to cut corners and skimp out on portions to increase profits. During my 45 minutes of dining here, I observed a lot of regulars, informally seating themselves after being greeted via gestures of familiarity by the restaurant staff. I can see why they would come back time after time, despite the many Vietnamese cuisine choices in Sacramento's Little Saigon. Service is typical of any authentic Asian restaurant, don't expect too much. Even the presentation of the food was surprisingly impressive, as the red onions floating in my broth were perfectly aligned until I moved them. We like to get the combo plate 2, which comes with pork, chow mein, fried rice, and one egg roll. This meal can get really greasy though. Pho broth had a strong beef flavor. The noodles tasted a bit off and were sticky. It tasted kind of old to me. I don'tThey do give you lots of meat though and it is a really good price for $11. Their egg rolls are one of the best. Super crispy and has good balance of the ingredients inside. Must dip it in the fish sauce! You don't really get much service here. They tell you to pick a table yourself and they'll come by later to take your order. Once your food is delivered, they don't come around to check very often, which we didn't really mind since we didn't need anything. The place also looks a little cluttered for how small it is. I had the orange chicken combination plate. I didn't see it on the menu but requested. It comes with Orange Chicken, a special egg roll cut into 4 pieces, and a big serving of fried rice and noodles. The orange chicken was good however it was not chunks it was more like bits. Pieces smaller than what you would get at Panda Express. And the portion was Small, I think this may have been a mistake, due to how busy this place was. The rice and noodles were the best part, pieces of meat in both, a good mix and plenty if you wanna share. The egg roll was not a traditional egg roll, though it tasted like a traditional egg roll just with a different texture. It was good. The plate also came with a clear dipping sauce which was good but I didn't really have enough egg roll or chicken to experiment. Was I supposed to pour around my meal? The meal was good, and their hot soups I observed while I was waiting also looked good. But the portion of orange chicken really threw me off.
