    22. Bun Tom Thit Nuong Cha Gio

Finally decided to make a visit to Viet Ha for dinner. I first heard about Viet Ha from someone on instagram, who raved about their bun and that they have the best crispy cha gio. First, service was slow but expected since the lady at the cash register does everything (takes dine-in and phone orders, takes your payment, cleans the table, etc) so please be patient and understanding. From what I heard, she can speak English, Vietnamese, and Cantonese. I ordered #22 while my hubs got #18. The only difference with mine was the grilled shrimp. From looking at the reviews on yelp it looks like lots of people's favorite was #22. The portion is huge! They give you lots of meat and lots of noodles. Neither my husband nor I could finish all the noodles they give you so great for people who are really hungry. One bowl could definitely be shared by two. Taste-wise, we thought it was just ok. The cha gio was pretty big. It is wrapped in rice paper so the texture was pleasantly chewy and crispy and filled with generous amount of ground pork filling. I wouldn't call it the best cha gio I've ever had. The shrimp was a bit dry most likely being over grilled. The grilled pork was plentiful and tasty. Overall, I would give it 3/5 and my hubs gave his a 2/5. Would we return? Probably not, but I would say go once just to try out the cha gio.

If you like Vietnamese grilled pork, you have to get it from here! A pound of their grilled pork is about $17 and it lasts for so many meals. It's flavorful, savory, delicious, and perfectly cooked. It also comes with some sweet fish sauce on the side. A tip I have is to call and place an order beforehand so that you can just pick it up right when it is done cooking. Service is friendly, fast, and their timing is always accurate. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small, but cozy. Sometimes when they cut the grilled pork into pieces, they cut it up a little too much, so I would ask them to not cut it when I order it. This way I can easily cut it up with scissors myself and control the size of each piece. Last time I ate it with papaya salad over rice and I can't wait to have it again!

Viet Ha is a Sacramento staple. Great food, great portions, great price. 80% of the time, I usually get the 9A chicken noodle soup, but over the last few times I've been coming, I decided to try a couple different dishes I've never ordered before. Here's my rankings on what I've tried here over the years: 9A. Chicken noodle soup, 8/10 Beef combo pho, 7/10 Egg rolls, 7/10 Combination Plate #1, 9/10 43. Charbroiled pork rice plate, 6/10 Bun Rieu, 7/10 22. Charbroiled pork vermicelli, 7.5/10 My conclusion, the Combination Plate #1 is bomb and will definitely be a go to for me if I'm not feeling noodle soup. And a note to self, never order #43 again.

This place is a Sacramento Viet food institution. I grew up eating this place and we are die hard fans for over 30 years. Their grilled meat is amazing! The vermicelli is so good, it made my hubby a believer of Viet food, and most importantly, a convert to fish sauce. It's a a small unassuming mom & pop, but you can rely on this place to serve legit Viet food that can satisfy even the pickiest foodie. Parking: small lot shared with another business but parking spaces are reserved for. Viet Ha.

My monthly visit for my fav vietnamese vermicelli , charbroiled meats and the best eggrolls ( they used rice paper for the wrapper giving it the best texture ) ! Services are always attentive and prompt and the prices are the best you can find in the area!

My pick up and go spot... I've been coming to Viet-Ha for over 10 years. This place has been around forever, and while I've tried other items on the menu, I keep coming back for one thing: #22. Trust me, look it up on the menu--it's a must-try. I'll include a photo for reference! I don't dine in often; it's my go-to pick-up spot when I'm craving #22. Ordering is super easy. I call ahead, and within 20 minutes, my food is ready to pick up. Quick, simple, and convenient. The portions are incredibly generous, easily feeding two people. I can never finish it all with the abundance of noodles and vegetables provided. I've also tried their pork chop over rice, and just like #22, the portions are huge. Their pho and other rice plates are decent, but #22 remains the "fav" for me. Parking is usually not an issue unless it's busy, but most people grab their food and go, so it's pretty manageable. Prices are reasonable, and the food tastes great. It's definitely a hit-or-miss spot depending on what you order, but overall, I've had a good experience here. If you're in the area, give #22 a try, you won't be disappointed!

Came here at around noon for lunch it was pretty busy sat down right away. It's a small hole in the wall restaurant. The portions are very big & the food was pretty good! The egg roll was my favorite part!

Best underrated Chinese food restaurant hands down. Service is slow and could use some help, but the food is always tasty and delicious. Our waitress when we ate in wasn't very attentive to our table. It took about 10 minutes for her to come and ask us if we were ready to order. Not good. The food came out in a reasonable time. The restaurant definitely gives you that hole in the wall feel, but if you don't mind it's not bad. Would recommend a visit here for good food. Only gave it four stars because of the inattentive waitress.

Was craving soup on a cold Friday night. Specifically BBH and remembered hearing Viet Ha having tasty BBH from the foodies around Sac. I haven't been there in ages since highschool years ago. Last I been there I had other items and remember food was good. We showed up a little past 7 and they closed by 8pm but the doors were locked. There were two other parties dinning in, one in which I was able to see have not ordered yet. So unsure of why it was locked. As we turn to walk away a worker opened it up and told us to come in and that they're still open. Could be for safety late night reasons being the area. We sat down and got our orders in quickly as we knew what we wanted. Server was quick to tend to us, and the food came out pretty fast as well. Food was hot and fresh. I lovvvved my BBH! Broth was hearty and packed with tons of flavors. No complaints but it was a little different from other BBH I've had before. No pork bone chunks or meat patty. There was blood. I would come back just for this soup. My sister got a vermicelli dish and that bowl was loaded! Packed to the brim! Came with a spring wrapped eggroll rather than a regular eggroll. The nuoc mam sauce was delicious not too sweet or fishy. She liked how they used the smaller noodles for this dish. Place has updated a bit it's bright and welcoming. It's a small little restaurant but it feels spacious inside. I was surprised how cheap the pieces were compared all the other South Sac Vietnamese restaurants.

Got the bun bo hue and bun thit nhuong. Both delicious. The BBH broth was rich, complex yet also light in a sense that my mouth wasn't coated in oil. It is on the non spicy side but I'm okay with that as I like adding more spice. The beef and pork hawk was delicious, good proportion of broth to meat ratio. Wish I had some banana blossom tho. Altogether good meal and value, will return and recommend. Service was quick.

    Chicken vermicelli

The food was good and sufficient however, my iced coffee looked as if someone already drank half. $3.75+tax for half a drink?! That's worse than shrinkflation bc it has ice too! Do better.

    Hieu L.

One of those hole in the wall places I'll get bun thit nuong cha gio which is just perfectly executed here. When done right, it's just the perfect dish to eat anytime of the day. I usually get to-go because the restaurant itself isn't the most cleanliness restaurant. Sometimes I'll overlook certain things when the food is good.

So I'm planning my next trip here this week so I can enjoy the amazing cucumber salad (so fresh, crunchy and garlicky), their pepper beef clay pot (sizzling rice at the bottom for the win and big portions), their spicy tofu (umm what?!? So crispy) and their awesome skewers (the pork belly is my favorite). The space is small, so if you're planning on dining in during peak times, you may want a back up or take it to go as they only have a handful of tables inside and a few tables outside. There is parking but it is shared with other business so can get busy. The service is wonderful! The hostess/waitress was very friendly and everything came out relatively quick. The clay pot does take some time (they need to cook up the rice to get that awesome crunchy bottom) so place your order for that first, and then look at the appetizers and skewers as they come out fast. It was nice enough that I tried to come here on a weekend night and it was packed full of families which is great but probably where I should have thought about it more. We went up to the counter and were told to wait a few minutes. I saw that a large table was clearing up so I didn't mind waiting. During this time a group came up behind us and I thought they were after us. One of the server waved in our general direction after cleaning up and splitting the table, so I thought they were gesturing to us since it has already been 10 minutes of waiting. Wrong, it was to the group behind us. Maybe it was communicated in mandarin that they had a reservation, I'm not sure. I waited for the next empty table, which was also taken by yet another group that magically appeared behind us as if they knew they were in line. I decided to leave after this. My issue is that I looked and talked to the staff multiple times and at no point, did they indicate there was a waitlist, nor did they take my name, or anything about people in front of us. It was really frustrating because being told it would be a few minutes set the wrong expectation. This is not the only place to get skewers so if you're left confused where you are in line, just come another weekday, speak mandarin, or go somewhere else like I did
