I've never seen a more overpriced record store in my life. I understand that he has the entire…read moremarket in this area, but he has records marked for 40 bucks that would go for 4-5 dollars in any other record store. Beat up copies of Disraeli Gears for 30+, beat up random Beatles presses for 40. Classical Deutsche Grammaphon that would be marked for a dollar elsewhere, go for 10-20. No 20th century classical, no jazz, mostly classic rock, older classical and country. I make it a point to visit record stores everywhere I go. In small college towns you usually find run of the mill beat up classic rock. That's expected, but sometimes you find some gems. The prices here would keep you from ever spending your money here, especially with the internet. Random CDs you could find in 50 cent or 1 dollar bins for 15 bucks. I'm not sure how this place is still making it. It's a shame someone would run a record store like this. I wouldn't waste my time. Wait until you take another trip to go digging :).

I left after I couldn't find it, and was a block away when I heard the owner yelling after me that he found one. The record was in near-perfect condition, with just the dust jacket being damaged. Most of the low-rating reviews are complaining about the pricing of the records, but I want to point out that this is a shop out in the middle of nowhere and he has to keep the doors open somehow. I think that, at the quality of the records, with the distance he is from any other record store, and with the prices being driven up by rent+covid, this is a perfectly fine store. I would recommend that you stop here and buy a record if you can on your drive out to Big Bend!
