As we drove out to Prada Marfa I saw that this shop had their door literally open. We stopped by when we got back to town but the door was now closed. I texted the phone number posted on the door and at the same moment artist Richard Kurtz arrived. His wife, fellow artist Jennifer Esperanza owns the shop and Richard's work is on display inside. Mostly women's vintage and some jewelry, cowboy boots, purses, leather belts, and home goods are for sale. I bought a gorgeous beaded cardigan and one of a kind Marfa denim jacket. Jennifer wasn't available but Richard is a very kind man and my husband and I enjoyed chatting with him.

After he binge watched Longmire and two days on a road trip in Texas - I can see the interest brewing. We originally tried buying a nice hat in Marfa. Every boutique told us to head back to Alpine to visit this store. Every single one. Marfa friends you were all correct to send us to BBS. This family owned business has an incredible selection of hats and leather goods. The owners were kind to let us explore the on-site workshop! Major props and gratitude to Ms Molly. She was so kind and patient to help my dad and I select our hats. She then steamed and shaped them to fit our heads perfectly. This was an incredibly fun, welcoming, and interesting visit. Now we can find their gift shop treasures in town. Lots of really lovely alpaca products, along with local Bee Wranch honey and other gifts for critter lovers. And the teddy bears here are the softest I have ever felt. Soon I hear the very sweet owner, Heidi, will be bottle feeding her baby kangaroo at the shop!
