A true HIDDEN GEM! They have a huge wide variety of antiques, treasures and crystals that are AFFORDABLE! I could spend hours here, and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you Russ for your time, educating information, and hospitality!

I'm in Alpine for the weekend, visiting some family. I was looking up places to shop when the Cheshire Cat Antiques came up, so I decided to give it a try since I had some time to kill. I will be returning :) they have such a wonderful collection of items, ranging from furniture, to tea cup sets, to vintage Rodeo posters. One could easily spent hours there. I found a cute vintage skirt and a pair of chandelier earrings at a great price! Only $20 for the set! The owner Russ was very kind, and knowledgeable about all of his items, as well as the town of Alpine. I can't wait to return.

This place is a gem! My husband and I happened upon it on our way to Malfa and its quaint Texas style yard lured us in. They had some beautiful stones out front. We bought some rings, antlers and hat shaped items. Its a family run place with very nice people. I would recommend to everyone

Was traveling through and stopped in to find some treasure from Texas. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The store has all kinds of unique finds. Be sure to have time to really enjoy stepping back in time Texas style.

What a gem! We got lost in this family-owned antique shop for a good hour or so. Russ and his family were so friendly and helpful. They have a real love for the area and shared some great tips on where to eat and drink both in Alpine and in Marfa. They support local artists and have a real eye for vintage treasure and the prices are not insane either. Whether you're in the market for cowhide rugs, turquoise jewelry, animal skulls covered in hand grown crystals, antique books, milk glass dishware, blown glass table lighters, a jaunty feather for your Stetson, geode souvenirs for the kids, chunks of amethyst, rodeo belt buckles, or even just a postcard, you won't be disappointed with the Cheshire Cat! Tip: when picking geodes be sure to select one that seems lightweight for its size. You want it to be hollow for the best crystal display once you crack it open!

Spent the day in Alpine today with my boyfriend and let me tell you, I will definitely be coming back every time I'm in town! If I didn't live 10+ hours away I'd probably be in there every week. Russ was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about everything in this shop, and the other man and woman behind the counter (I didn't catch their names) were also very nice. I collect jewelry (mostly semi precious stones and Native American) and they had an amazing selection and the prices were extremely reasonable. Left with this one of a kind Mexican Fire Opal ring that I'm completely in love with (and I haven't stopped staring at it since!) On the way out Russ told us we could have two geodes to crack open when we get home from our trip! One of my favorite antique stores I've ever been to!

I was headed to Terlingua for the Meteor Shower in August and saw this shop and decided to check it out. I had to most wonderful time in this shop! They had everything! I spotted an Opal ring that I fell in love with. I decided not to purchase it at the time because it was a bit pricey for my budget at the time. Last week I contacted the shop to see if they still had the ring and they did!!!! I requested photos and they sent them right away via text. I decide to make the purchase. They took payment over the phone and mailed it to me that day!!! I even got a receipt by text. Such a great shop and the hospitality was perfection!

My boyfriend's rings - the Great Seal one is from post Vietnam era and so worn you can feel it's owner's spirit on it I swear lol

As we drove out to Prada Marfa I saw that this shop had their door literally open. We stopped by when we got back to town but the door was now closed. I texted the phone number posted on the door and at the same moment artist Richard Kurtz arrived. His wife, fellow artist Jennifer Esperanza owns the shop and Richard's work is on display inside. Mostly women's vintage and some jewelry, cowboy boots, purses, leather belts, and home goods are for sale. I bought a gorgeous beaded cardigan and one of a kind Marfa denim jacket. Jennifer wasn't available but Richard is a very kind man and my husband and I enjoyed chatting with him.
