I felt like I came to a completely different seafood restaurant, total 180 from the one I used to love. This nightclub, sorry I mean restaurant is slowly going away from being a reputable seafood spot. Now it's just a bar to enjoy small bites and a beer so avoid it if you want to enjoy it with your family. We can't even talk! Now the food was the worst I've had! My fish which was pictured on the menu looked nothing like it! It was so dry, burnt and awful, the shrimp was also overcooked and rubbery, like who wants to eat that? I felt so bad asking for a new dish only because the server was nice and we already had to wait a long time for our food to be served. I feel like a lot of things are being overlooked when they are so focused on the loud karaoke singer and having those beers full. I will not come back, this place is now overrated. Once a gem in the area now just a dull rock! P.s. watch out when you pay, the itemized receipts are different when it comes to the tip.
Placed an order to go. Food portion for the Classic ceviche was so small. I was sure they made a mistake, so I called and sent a photo and I was told that was the portion. I don't think so. I've dined in before and the to go order looked like a kids serving.
On Friday August 15, 2025 we went to celebrate a birthday party in a party of 4 adults to the 22400 Hwy 249 location & enjoyed good food, with appetizers and one michelada for 3 of the 4 of us. When it came time for clearing the check, I had the waitress Giselle (Yosi M on the receipt) hold a machine to pay the tab in front of me and said sign. I asked how do I know how much or the tip and she said it will print after you sign and since the bill was over $150, tip was automatically added. I said really, how much and she said 15%. I signed and she printed a receipt right there at the table, off the machine & I guess she expected I couldn't do math & she walked away, paid. Immediately I saw our bill was not in fact over $150 it was $149.60 with tax. So I then factored 15% of that and saw the tip was not that but 25% of that; $37.40. So, Not $150 bill, not 15% tip! So I asked for a manager and Nancy came over at the hostess stand and we she asked we step outside to the entrance and I told her and showed her what happened. She mentioned upon seeing the bill & the added tip the waitress chose, that they don't add tips even to big parties or any size check. She also mentioned there had already been complaints about her adding tips to checks with thar waitress & just that day, they had reprimanded her about 3 similar complaints!! Not fired! The manager Nancy agreed it was a problem, went back to get a copy of the receipt and as she came back with that copy I saw she has cash for my refund of my tip I hadn't given, but it was cash, despite I paid with my debit card(). Then another customer came out, very upset and said that same waitress added a 40% tip without his approval and she had done it before to him and he wanted action. We were floored and as we were there now, 2 customers at the door exposing being ripped off with tips, then a man came out all in black and said "enough, she's out of here", huffed around a bit & went back in. Perhaps the GM?? I was given my tip back but in tip money, 1 ten, 3 fives, and 12 dollar bills... odd bill choice for a debit card tip refund. No offer to comp the bill. I sat there for a few minutes with our birthday party outside, watching the other ripped off customer, who seemed he had a few drinks, getting real pissed. We left it looked like it was going to be a much bigger scene about to break with that. Now the next day, we have to wonder; Why the refund with tip money, is it for no paper trail with the credit card receipts?? It happened to us and another customer at the same time and that's not coincidence, plus he said it happened to him before there. What? This has happened tonight and before and the waitress Gisele (aka Yosi M from Guatemala) is still there!!??!!?? That quick show by the possibly general manager was great, but he didn't offer to comp a meal, didn't get involved and was simply there for a minute maybe 2 with 2 customers that just got ripped off by his staff. He went right back in and his momentary appearance was simply that, momentary. No apology, no pleas come back, not much but a bit of a huff in a so so cameo appearance.... Is this a scheme involving more than the waitress? How often has this happened? Are ALL their customers checking their receipts and tips? Very disturbing and now, I'm concerned about the machine at the table the waitress used to scan my card and pay herself a better tip! She was going to probably get 20%, she chose 25% in my case, 40% with the other customer but he had been drinking and maybe she thought she was an easier mark... Does La Vida Seafood know this is happening ing, what about Los Cucos next door run by the same company? Does the owner know his staff is allowing multiple instances at this location of stealing from customers? Are they stealing from him or just loosing his customers? Very troubling!
Comida superr mal presentada y poquita !! Tostada de ceviche mas bien parece tostada de pepino muy raquiticos sua platillos
This is a regular stop for us and I was surprised to see I hadn't previously left a review. It's a big boisterous place with a big bar, a couple of covered outdoor seating areas and plenty of indoor seating with an elevated stage. It gets quite busy at peak times and sometimes there's a bit of a wait, especially for larger groups, which the tend to attract. The seafood is consistently very good and the non seafood items are up to standard as well. Favorites include Fish Plays Azul, Seafood all Vapor and Mango Fish. Their ceviche is very good as well. They have some nice lunch specials that aren't on the dinner menu, and it is a bit quieter in the afternoon. Lots of big screen TVs with a focus on soccer /futbol. The service is good for such a busy place; the wait staff hustles and does a pretty good job of keeping up. Generally fairly noisy at night with folks celebrating birthdays, etc. If you want a bit more quiet, choose the outdoor patio. Karaoke night are pretty crazy but good fun. Evenings they also some times have strolling mariachi musicians as well. Our pet name for Vida is "The Crazy Mexican Fish Place" which kind of captures it all. We have been many times and have never been disappointed.
I went last weekend with my brother and it was lovely. Their Halloween decor was photo worthy and I love their ambience. Reminds me of beach I always get their large house shrimp fried rice and it's perfect for 2 people. Do ask for habanero if you like it a little spicy. Also, they had some great alcoholic and virgin drinks to try. I would definitely go again and again.
We came here for a business lunch on Tuesday two weeks ago, and had a solid experience! My group was able to get seated immediately and without a reservation, which was nice. The hostess was very friendly, and Lucy did a great job taking care of us as our waitress. As for the food, it was delicious! Definitely recommend the guacamole as an appetizer. The fish was fresh, and everything was brought out warm. The only thing I would say is for the mojarra frita, it is a lot of fish to peel with small fish bones inside the fish. I would probably get the shrimp the next time instead. Overall though, it was a great experience!
This place is big! Lots of space for seating and outdoor seating that is covered. Sucks bathroom is far away is my only complaint. Food was excellent and very authentic. I love aguachiles which is hard to find and one that tastes authentic as if you were in Playa De Carmen. Micheladas were good and I recommend as well. The basic and the fancy one too. Fish tacos are delicious and not fishy. They come with the best refried black beans and homemade corn tortillas. The beef quesadillas are so delicious. The beef is perfect also aligns with the queso flameado which is just as good if you add beef to it as well again comes with homemade corn tortillas which you don't find everywhere. That the only dish that was not liked in my visit was the chipotle shrimp that comes on the Delmar plate, which is shrimp and beef (surf and turf) Other than that, everything else was delicious I can't wait to be back. I just wanna make sure I don't go when the band is there that is too loud for me but if you like the band, they have it on the weekends about 9 PM so it should be a party But when I was there they had mariachis which were very good. We actually stayed to listen to them after we closed out. If you're expecting chips and salsa, this place does not do that. They serve you warm bread and butter. No complaints about the service. Everything was on point.
I remember visiting this location about a year ago and enjoying it, so decided to visit again. This turned out to be the last time I ever go back. I ordered the beef fajitas, which is a pretty basic dish. They somehow managed to be hot and cold at the same time. The fajitas were all burned on the outside but cold and rubbery on the inside, as though they had been reheated from earlier in the day. The tortillas were hard and just fell apart in your hands as you picked them up. Asked for new tortillas and they brought the "fresh" ones pictured. Never going back nor do I recommend.
Reviews are mixed. Many highlight the authentic seafood dishes, festive live music, and friendly staff. The creative drinks are also popular.

Hey I went to eat at Vida Mariscos yesterday off of 249. We started out with their classic ceviche, which is the best ceviche that I have found in the entire north Houston area! I absolutely love crawfish! Theirs is a little bit different from what I am used to, the seasoning isn't really a Cajun seasoning. They also had this garlic stuff on the outside(the Asian way some say). But the seasoning tasted great, the crawfish were juicy, only complaint is I found a few that had tough tails. I'm guessing that is from over cooking? But that was only about 5 out of the 5 pounds that we ate. So all in all their crawfish were delicious! I highly recommend you go try it before the season is over! My servers name was Angela, and she did an amazing job! Never had an empty beer, and never ran out of clean napkins! read more

Pretty dank spot Yo. Service is kinda neat. They have that nice ass patio out front that looks really chill but, I don't sit out there because summer. Asked dude to change the channel because it was on some educational shit for kids and I'm not a kid. He changed it. They're always showing all the good soccer games. The food is cool, takes a while for them to bring it out sometimes but, it's cool. I like the tilapia. You should try it. Try the shrimp soup. I did and I came. The beers are always cold. This is a spot you should seriously consider experiencing Yo. read more

I am conflicted about writing a post as this place is already getting packed and the wait is just going to get longer when the word gets out. If you have ever eaten seafood in any of the amazing water front restaurants in Guaymas, La Paz or Puerto Vallarta you are going to be happy. First clue no chips and salsa. In Mexico they don't chomp a bag of tortilla chips before they eat a fine meal. Instead awesome seafood coctels. We had the shrimp which comes with a side of sauce, limes a few wedges of perfect fresh avocado garnishing it. My wife had the Seven Seas Seafood Caldo an amazing stew of fish, shrimp, scallops, crab, calamari steaks, mussels and octopus. Rich dark red broth that is spicey but light enough to not over power the seafood. I had the Huachinango Zarandeado a whole marinated red snapper butterflied and grilled. Perfect it is as good as the one I has at Hugo's down town. While they do have hand made tortillas these particular dishes were served with crusty home made French bread botillos which go perfect for soaking up the delicious soup. The full bar is great with several Mexican beers on draft and great margaritas in large frozen goblets. They even have dirty martinis on the bar menu! The service was very attentive and friendly. This restaurant is like taking a trip to Mexico! read more

I am giving the restaurant 3 stars because it is too overpriced. I think this restaurant is great for small groups, but yesterday we experienced a very slow service due to them being unable to handle our group of 7. Yes, 7! It took them about 10 minutes to seat us, when there were plenty of available tables. To get the food order it took about 30 minutes. We were not expecting to wait so long, but we noticed our waitress was busy with her 2 tops or 4 tops. My fiance was very hungry and a bit frustrated - as was I, but I was too busy enjoying my watermelon margarita. The food was decent. I had a "paella" type dish, that was good - just needed a little bit extra salt and perhaps avocado on the side, with cilantro & onion. I think it should definitely be offered with this dish, but by no means was it not flavorful. I did enjoy it, but I was expecting a lot more for the price: $22.99 What threw me off was the fact that they give you bread and butter instead of chips and salsa. Typically at mexican restaurants you are given chips and salsa. Anyways, the margarita was my favorite, of course. It had the perfect amount of tequila, pieces of watermelon and garnished with a watermelon wedge. We will definitely be back since my father in law is a HUGE seafood and caldo fan. He enjoyed it very much, so I am sure we will be back one day. read more

My husband and I are pleased to find a good and inexpensive seafood restaurant in Tomball. To start we ordered shrimp & fish ceviche that tasted pretty fresh. The main dishes were Sopa de camaron (shrimp soup) with grilled fish taco and garlic shrimp with jicama salad. If you like spicy drinks, try their michelada with your choice of beer (we had Dos XX). Fridays & Saturdays they have live music from 10pm-2am. Overall we were satisfied with our flavorful dishes and will definitely be back again when we're in Tomball. Tasty food, good atmosphere & attentive staff. *Tip: If you're in a hurry, make sure to let your waitress/waiter know you when you first sit down. read more

Place has potential to be awesome 4-4.5 star range. As a beta tester we came on soft opening weekend. Messed food up twice but manager tried with vigor to keep boat afloat. When it arrived, food was really good. Service/teamwork a work in process. Micheladas - wife said they're "a toda madre" good. Sampler - all fried items good except octopus. Enjoyed the fried rice as well. Fish tacos - grilled, extremely tangy sauce, but a nice variation on fried. Excited for the patio in the spring. read more

I actually love love love this place BUT I have tried to come several times on the weekend to listen to live music. This time I called ahead to make sure we arrive to hear them. Seems like this band is a bunch of divas who spend time "warming up" or "taking a break" even before they start the show.. Really? Several tables around us left "decepcionadas". I think the band plays a total of 15 minutes with breaks and warm up. No thanks... we will just go to Dosey Doe or any of the dozen other restaurants with music. #timetohireanewband #stepupyourgame #disappointed. Very disappointed read more

First of all, let me start by saying that I come to Vida Mariscos because the Mangonadas. They are delish. Last time I came was 2 wks ago (I was out of town last wk) and they decided to switch the glasses to some TINY glasses and Keep the same price. The last glasses were 2xs as big. It is ridiculous that they think it's OK to switch glasses and not reduce the price. Not coming back. The food prices are already high. read more

Far too expensive for my taste when I can basically get the same food from a taqueria or local Mexican restaurant. We ament around lunch time and were seated immediately, but from the looks of this place there are plenty of tables, so I wouldn't expect a wait. They apparently have live Norteno music and mariachi music through the week, according to one of the waitresses. read more

I've been here many times and I've liked the fish playa azul but today was a disappointment. They forgot the crab meat. My sons fried fish tasted like cardboard. I'm sorry to say today is my day coming here. Also they want 13.99 for a cucumber margarita. Way too much for the place it is. Thumbs down. read more

Good parking . Came here on a Friday night like around 8pm . Place was packed and jumping . When you walk in you notice right away how big the place is ! Very spacious. Super delicious bread they serve before your food comes out . I ordered the half size of the two piece fish with 5 regular shrimp . My plate comes with either an option of rice or French fries . I said bring them both to me . The extra charge for the fries where like 2 dollars . No big deal . Sucky thing only about that was that my side fríes did take longer to get to me after my actual plate arrived . I wanted them both at the same time . The Mariachi band was singing songs upon request for some dollars. They had a DJ as well . He was playing the right tunes . TVs left to right , front to back , literally everywhere in the Restaurant. Can't miss no Play action when they have the game on . Family friendly, plenty of cute singles there to . Sweet tea was hitting !!! In a good way will be back soon read more
