I came to Victrola with a friend to study, and it's definitely a good place to get work done! Theres tons of seating and even a back conference looking room. We arrived around 1pm on a Monday and I liked that there was a constant flow of people. I ordered a 12oz iced latte and added vanilla and honey syrup! It was a bit expensive ($7.17) but it tasted really good. If I had to compare it to another drink, it reminded me of the bottle of Starbucks vanilla frappe you can buy at the grocery store. It leaned on the sweet side and didn't taste like coffee but that's the kind of drinks I go for!! At the table we were sitting at, the two outlets under the booth didn't work. Luckily, there's a good amount of outlets around the cafe and I was able to charge my laptop. There's open wifi and it worked well! All in all it's a good place to chat or study and I like the quiet neighborhood it's located in.

Staff gives off a "too cool for you" vibe. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing-- depends on what you're looking for out of a coffee shop, I personally don't find it super welcoming. Service was quick, no nonsense. I saw how they prepared my drink and looks like the barista takes pride in his craft. I came pretty early and it wasn't busy. A couple tables with people on their laptops and phones. The tomato pesto sandwich was good, I like the burst of tomato flavor and it wasn't over powered by the flavor or pesto.

This place has plenty of seating so a good place to wfh or study. The tables by the wall have outlets. The place is a little dim though so reading is possible. The kombucha was ok. I wouldn't get the sausage muffin again. Food and drink came out fast. Since it is cap hill, paid street parking on 15th or there is 2 hour limit neighborhood parking. I am a fan of the local humor( Lord Byron cat stickers).

I'm a fan of Victrola Coffee. I was glad when my friend and I were around the north Capitol Hill neighborhood and saw there was Victrola for the save because everyone needs to start their day with caffeine. It was solid coffee in a wonderful setting. The place wasn't too busy on a Sunday morning. In fact, it was quite inviting, with a large, well-lit space that had a ton of room for groups or individuals who may need a space for working or reading. I would easily come here to work if I lived closer. I ordered a large drip coffee, which was solid and got the job done. It's quality coffee that's finely sourced. But if drip isn't your thing, there were other options, with a handful of different syrup flavors if you wanna amp up your latte game. In addition to drinks and pastries, they also sell merchandise, like reusable bottles and coffee accessories and local artwork that's displayed on the walls! How cool is that? Any time I'm in the area, I know exactly where to get my coffee.

Coffee & sandwich was good but how the staff and others in the room looked at me, as a biracial woman, walking into the space was soooo awkward! The staff could of shifted how I felt, as they control their space, but they made it worse. They rolled their eyes and just looked at me looking at the menu. I tried to be light and ask questions about items but I got dry answers and uninterested in making a connection I saw them do with many other people in line and walking through. I ended up sitting and eating to make sure they knew I deserved the same treatment. At first the room was quite but then 3-4mins passed and back to the loud chatting and "normal" from everyone in the room. Let's regulate ALL are welcomed in your space and equal or make it clearer your a racist business please. If you have a progressive rainbow flag, change it to not have black & brown, this way we know you don't want us inside. Was unexpected to find this energy in capital hill (lgbtq+ community where I live!) on broadway, just down the street from MY college! 2 stars for the food quality, zero for the attitudes

I got a cherry iced tea which I was very excited about! I was and still am so happy they have so many teas and can make them all iced. The tea itself was only okay, it was very tart. But, it was cherry so maybe I should have expected that. This is quite a large location, there is lots of seating. It would be a good place to get some work done. Decent amount of electrical outlets too. Service was good, everyone was friendly and made my tea pretty quickly.

Price: ~$7-8 for latte Favorites: cardamom latte Tips: Check out the back study room and enjoy the latte of your choice with many fragrant flavors! Located in a hip corner of Capitol Hill, Victrola Coffee and Art fits the vibe. Between perusing bookshelves or trying vintage clothes, take a stop to peer at art on the walls and sip on a fragrant latte. This place was packed, but you'll surely snag a spot on your own or as a pair. I recommend checking out the study room in the back because it was the perfect place for me to get some reading done. As for the latte, they topped it with art that was just as cute as the decor. They offer many warm and iced drinks that fit the atmosphere. I liked what the server recommended, the cardamom latte, but feel free to pick the spice that best matches your preference or mood. The latte was a little small for the price, but I enjoyed it and my coffee shop experience at Victrola Coffee and Art nonetheless.

First time trying Victrola Coffee. I approached the staff and asked what they would recommend, which he answered "I don't know what you like". I understand everyone has different tastes and preferences. It was my first visit so I was hoping staff will be more friendly to go over the seasonal drinks as I asked about them. The coffeeshop was empty when I visited so a bit disappointed with customer service. I ordered the Cedar Hawthorne latte which it tasted like a plain latte without any flavor. I had to ask for a lid from another barista. The latte art was beautiful but disappointed as my latte tasted very plain as I requested for a seasonal flavored coffee.

Spinach and feta croissant and an oatmilk lavender latte
    Daizha E.

Came here to get some work done. Picked this cozy spot after reading it's great reviews. I ordered a spinach and feta croissant and a oatmilk lavender latte. The croissant was so greasy and it was hard eating it while trying to get work done and my latte seemed weak and got cold really fast. The individual at the register was also very monotone and just kind of.. there. Not really the normal vibe you get when entering a local coffee shop. It also feels like the A/C is blasting in here. I got an 8oz dirty chai before leaving because I was shivering! A different person was at the register but the vibe was the same. Being a barista myself, saw that the espresso shot the barista poured in my chai was dead and it sure tastes that way too. I wouldn't even finish it but I will because it was $8. Overpriced forsure. There are many people on their laptops getting stuff done. It is pretty loud in here though. I would recommend coming here and grabbing coffee with a friend or in passing but I wouldn't recommend doing work here or staying here for a long period of time.

Super cute interior, seemed like an active gathering space and the employees were quite patient as well as helpful. The mocha was pretty standard, not a strong chocolatey flavor, but it was present.

Decent coffee, but they messed up my order. The ambiance is nice, and I liked the art on the wall.

Exposed brick wall and warm tones from the wood furniture makes this shop a cozy third place. A few indoor plants give it a fresh touch. The baristas here are definitely dedicated to their craft! Their drink offerings are standard, although they also have housemade syrups and specialty drinks (seasonal mochas, lattes, etc) if you want to try something different. I love how they highlight their single origin espresso on the menu with the tasting notes. They also offer matcha and teas if you're more into that. I haven't tried any bakery goods, but looking at the pastry case, they're quite popular. Victrola embodies the perfect Seattle coffeehouse- one that I wish people knew more widely rather than the twin tailed siren that's spread globally...

I don't normally drink coffee (I'm more of a tea person, if all the boba and tea shop reviews I…read morewrite don't say anything!), but I'm always up for new experiences, especially ones that allow me to expand my taste horizons and ability to describe flavors and aromas. After booking a tea tasting at a local tea shop, I went around looking for coffee tastings and found Victrola. Every Friday at 11AM, they offer a free tasting class, so we, of course, booked the very next Friday! Arriving at the shop a bit before 11AM, it was pretty full, with most tables taken and a short line of 2-3 people in front of me. We checked in with the cashier and he said the barista was getting things ready. Maybe 5 minutes later, we were led to the room in the back, where the barista introduced the tasting experience and handed us two sheets of paper, one with the anatomy of a coffee cherry, and the other with their coffee flavor wheel. For this week, it was only us two for the tasting, so we had a full monopoly of the barista (according to him, the prior week was 8 people!). We were able to try two coffees - both single origin, one from Guatemala and the other from Colombia. We started by sniffing the beans and grounds, with the Guatemalan emanating notes of lightly roasted peanuts (per tasting notes, it's milk chocolate, orange, and "elegant") and the Colombian with dark soy and umami notes (per tasting notes, it's pineapple, melon, and date), at least to my nose. The barista brewed both via pour over (if I remember correctly, it was 203F water with 20g of the Guatemalan, 24g of the Colombian in 360g of water). I forgot the exact grind sizes he used. Interestingly, the flavor profile of the Colombian was completely different to me between the grounds and the final brew. Very fruity throughout - I'm not that adept at description, but it's definitely a fresher, crisp fruit, not dried fruit, and not red fruit or berries, nor citrus. I'll have to file this one away as pineapple and green apple, per the barista. In terms of mouthfeel, it's thick, almost syrupy, coating the mouth with the fruity flavors. The Guatemalan, on the other hand, is completely different, starting with roasted coffee, then still with the peanut notes, but also adding a caramel-like essence. Very 'brown' on the color wheel. Mouthfeel-wise, thinner, watery like tea. I have never had good quality coffee before and this was certainly an experience that opened my eyes to how good coffee can actually be. I still have a ton of tea leaves to go through, but perhaps when I'm nearing the end, I'll have to start drinking more coffee. Tea, then chocolate, and now maybe coffee? My wallet is crying...
