VICTORY used to have good creative brewing with ales like Rum Monkey and Java Cask Gold, now it is the same hum drum list of beers. The food is okay but it is not so good that it means I will go there when I know none of the beers are any different than what I can buy at Acme or Giant. I wish Weyerbacher had a brewery in the W Chester area, they at elast have some creative ales in addition to the boring lagers , pilsners and the like. It has been over two years since I have been to Victory in Downingtown. I do not anticipate a return any time soon. read more

Celebrated a birthday and got rewards on the app. Menu options are smaller than I remember Nachos: 3/5 really love this style of chip, but wish there were more toppings. Chicken was very thick and unappetizing to look at. Unconventional nacho choice. Pretzel: pretzel was good, liked the cheese sauce, but thought it would be bigger and the mustard had a weird soapy aftertaste that I wasn't expecting. Cheesesteak was good and I would get that again. House Salad has red wine vinaigrette (not pictured) and fries are good, good portion. Burrito: Burrito was huge! BBQ flavored was interesting. This may have been a better experience if we were beer drinkers, so I can only talk about the food and service. We went here with a group of 8 after a soccer tournament and only had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. The server brought us water right away, but didn't return to take our orders for a while. We had to flag her down to tell her we were ready and STARVING. Our friends ordered coffees and they were not hot. Luke warm to the point they could drink the whole cup immediately. Our server kept forgetting things that we had asked for with our food when we ordered and didn't get it the first time. We were able to split the checks among 3 of us, as the orders were taken by seat location, but even then items were not accurate on everyone's checks. Went for wing night. Shelby A was a terrible server. Had to ask several times for Mayo. Had to ask more than once for my wife's soda refil. Wings came out without any napkins at all on our table. I asked Shelby politely for napkins while my wings got cold. She proceeded to walk around to other tables to take orders etc. I waited for 15 minutes for napkins at which point I went to the bar and asked the bartender for napkins. Shelby watched me go to the bar and get napkins and finally showed up 2 minutes later with the napkins I had requested almost 20 minutes earlier. Most of the servers at victory will bring napkins out as soon as a wing order is made because everyone knows how messy it can get. Ruined my experience. Shelby knew i was not happy despite the fact that I did not complain directly to her. I regret not saying anything to Shelby or victory management about the terrible service. Normally on victory receipts they have a qr code that you can scan at the top to pay online. I am normally a 20% tipper unless something is egregiously wrong in this case I probably would have reduced my tip to 5-10% but Shelby ripped the qr code off of the top of the receipt so that she could stand there with the card reader and monitor my tip activity. I recently visited this Victory Restaurant in Downingtown for the first time and the atmosphere was very pleasant and nice on a Saturday! Aside from the fact that my server Lauren was very gorgeous and beautiful beyond all measure she was also very efficient with bringing the salad I ordered out very quickly and smoothly and I felt at ease and relaxed around her! The air conditioning has not been working for years now since the new owners took over. During the summer, all the bartenders are visibly sweating and look very uncomfortable. The chairs and the barstools are very hard and uncomfortable. The portion sizes are shrinking. read more

BF and I wound up at Victory for dinner on a recent Saturday around 530-6ish after we tried to go to another nearby establishment and found they had a 90+ min wait. Victory was able to seat us immediately in appropriately distanced outdoor seating. They have a number of picnic tables under a tent, and then several smaller tables that are not covered (though weren't particularly sunny that day). They have music piped in, but the waitstaff are clearly serving as DJs and had a tendency to keep changing the song 30 seconds in, which isn't a big deal but was a little weird. All staff were masked and service was friendly and prompt. The beers were solid. My favorite was the Twisted Monkey, but also tried the Tart Monkey. We like Golden Monkey and Sour Monkey as well, but were not in the mood for such at high ABV. They have a lot of options to purchase beer to take home available as well. Based on Yelp, we ordered the Fried Pickles to start and were not disappointed. They achieve a perfect, crispy breading overtop pickle chips served with a fennel aioli. The basket is huge! Luckily, we ordered it prior to ordering our entrees, because we actually wound up splitting the Turkey and Avocado sandwich instead of each ordering our meal --- and we were stuffed! The sandwich was kind of like a BLT with added turkey and avocado and was pretty tasty. The house-made chips were a good choice as well. read more

Victory Brewing's Golden Monkey is my brother-in-law's all time favorite beer. We're from California so it's hard to find Golden Monkey around here. However when I was living in San Diego, oddly enough several local liquor stores carried Golden Monkey and at one point I bought out a couple of stores' inventory to give to my BIL. We were in Philly for my cousin's wedding and coincidentally we were staying nearby in Exton. Of course our first stop had to be Victory Brewing. I'm actually not a huge beer fan but since I've heard good things about Victory Brewing my mom and I thought we'd share a flight. From the several that I tasted, I like Brotherly Love the best. The food was pretty good too. It was St. Patrick's Day and also a Friday of Lent so none of us could have meat except my parents since they're seniors lol. I got the fish burger and my sister got the fish & chips, my parents got the Philly cheesesteak and we ordered fried pickles for the table. We even got the St. Patrick's brownie for dessert. From all the food, I liked the fried pickles the best! Highly recommend. Over server was really nice. We enjoyed our visit and even left with a few souvenirs from their gift shop. read more

Came for a group event and had a great time. If you like beer and pizza, Victory elevates it to a new level. If you don't- there's still plenty to enjoy! The food was all very fresh and presented cleanly. The standout was the mini philly cheesesteaks. Everyone raved about them and they disappeared quickly. But the pizzas were awesome and the toppings much better quality than expected which was a lovely surprise. The desserts were fine- bread pudding with a lot of warm spicy layers of flavor. I would pass on the cinnamon pretzel bites- they were just hard nuggets and the cinnamon overwhelmed the flavor. The vanilla sauce however was insanely on point and I'd drown regular pretzel bites in that for days. The beer hall is open high cielings (cause brewery) and can get loud, the air had trouble keeping up with the crowd and heat, and for groups in the future I recommend they get a mic system in place. I was also impressed with the service- the assigned waiters never stopped moving in 2 hours and remembered everyones orders constantly. They had drink menus everywhere so no one had to search and I saw a huge variety of requests- and everyone said theirs was great. I was impressed with a beer focused restaurant having such a fun and varied cocktail offering. If I had a friend who loved beer in the area, this would immediately be on my list to go for a fun night out. read more

3.5 stars! Well, 3.5 as a dining experience. Unsurprisingly, the beer is the priority here and it should be because it's good. Good bar with lots of unique and flavorful brews that you can really taste (maybe that's because they're so fresh?). The restaurant itself is very open and spacious but loud as a result; it was giving me cafeteria vibes because it's a large dining room, bar and an additional dining room. They also have a little merch area where you can by apparel and six packs (or kegs). Very casual but I saw people dressed for a nicer bar night out which was a vibe I wasn't getting from the indoor environment but to each his own. The food was good but not great. It's a tasty looking menu and a step above the usual bar food. The pizza was good but I think I wish it had more cheese (the crust was delicious though). The fried pickles were a good choice and they give you plenty. Great place to go with a larger group to socialize and move around the room. This is also a good place to learn about beer and try new flavors :) Bottom line: this is certainly worth a visit for a beer fan read more

Food was surprisingly good! We ordered cheese curds that were perfectly fried and seasoned. Everyone enjoyed their burgers and I took a risk with the Caprese burger special (only $6 during happy hour!) and was really happy with it. Meat was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I love going to Victory in Downingtown. It is the old Pepperidge Farm plant and from what I understand many operations over the years have been in the Victory restaurant space including a Godiva Chocolate and Campbell's Dry Soup production operation. A lot of history there. The beer is excellent, and the wings are a good size for the price ($10 on Wednesdays). What makes this 5-star spot a 4-star? The last few times I've been here the initial service has been slow - takes between 5-10 minutes to get a server, then an unusually long time to get initial drinks. I don't get to visit Victory very often. I have been a fan since Hop Devil first came out. I love coming here, funny bartender Mike seems to be here on the few occasions I get to visit annually. Mike and the other bartenders took great care of me for a quick late lunch on my way home. I sat at the end of the bar and talked to a few regulars. Wow it was great to find Hop Ranch on tap! One of my favorites. I also took a few crowlers home as I didn't have any growlers with me. Friday is $10 growler fills; that's a great deal. I had a great meat lovers pizza with plenty of sausage, bacon, and pepperoni. I also came in to get some bourbon from Southern Tier. I bought the bond, rye, and small cask. I also like their S'mores but the didn't have any today. This is a great open venue, plenty of indoor and out door seating. The walk from the parking lot came be a little long when they are busy. Love the merch shop with plenty of awesome shirts, beer, liquor, etc. right inside the door by the host/ess stand. read more
