This review has been long overdue, and I'm so glad I finally had the chance to write it…read more About a year ago, I decided I wanted my boys to start jiu-jitsu. As a mom, I believe it's so important for children to learn basic self-defense not because I expect something bad to happen, but because I want them to have the confidence and skills to protect themselves if they ever need to. At first, my boys were nervous and intimidated. We visited a few schools before making a decision, but from the moment we walked into Teragi, we knew this place was different. Everyone made us feel like family. The professors and coaches are exceptional not only because of their experience and skill, but because they genuinely care about every child. They encourage, support, and meet each child where they are. I especially want to mention my youngest. Jiu-jitsu didn't come naturally to him at first, and he struggled to understand the techniques. The professors and coaches were incredibly patient and never made him feel like he was behind. They allowed him to learn at his own pace, and now it's amazing to see how much his confidence and skills have grown. That patience meant so much to our family. There's no pressure for kids to be the best. Every child learns differently, and the professors and coaches truly understand that. Since we homeschool, Teragi has become more than just a place to train. My boys have made wonderful friendships, and we've found an incredible community. I also have to mention how clean the academy is! It never has that old gym smell and is always welcoming. I've watched both of my boys grow not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. They're more confident, disciplined, and respectful. If you're on the fence about jiu-jitsu because you don't like the idea of your child being on the ground, I completely understand. I felt the same way. But the reality is that many real-life self-defense situations end up on the ground, and knowing what to do can make all the difference. Thank you, Teragi, for creating such an incredible environment for our children. We are so grateful to be part of the Teragi family, and I couldn't recommend this academy more.

The owners, professors, and coaches have cultivated a superb gym culture. This gym is safe, friendly, and supportive. The facility is modern and clean, and they've invested in a foam block subfloor beneath the mats for softer landings. As far as I know, this is the only gym in the area that offers women-only classes four times per week and a bi-monthly community open mat for gentlemen 40 years and older. My kids train here after school 4-5 days a week, and they love it. The kids' professors and coaches are experienced and amazing teachers. I'm especially thankful for the young coaches who were so patient and kind to my boys when they were hesitant and shy after first starting. And my pocketbook is especially thankful for the discounted rates for additional family members. If you're looking for a place where the whole family can train, grow, and feel welcome, I can't recommend Teragi highly enough.

A business with a big heart…read more My children started art classes in Jan 2020 in one of Fibo studios, Little Picasso (grade K-1) and Core level (grade 2-4) respectively, because of its convenient location and class availability for each of my children. We liked the studio in our area with friendly staff. They both enjoyed the classes even though I talked my older one into taking the classes so that I could have some alone time while they were both in the classes.LOL. My only concern at that time was how much art knowledge, material techniques and personal attention the classes at Fibo would offer to the children compared to a small art studio with a long waiting list. The Black Friday in March was the last in person class they had before the studio had to close following the closure of the schools state-wide. In a couple of days after the closure of the studio, I was amazed that Fibo rolled out great online art classes, free for all the Facebook fans. Like all other distance learning, I've learned so much about the curriculum, the talents and passion of the Fibo team as well as the struggle of a small business keeping serving the community during the unprecedented difficult time. Curriculum: It was truly an eye opening experience for me to learn about the design of the curriculum of Fibo through the online classes. It can't be done without the belief and vision of the owner, Miss Jasmine, about nurturing the artistic side of each child and showing the children that art (history) is a language of humankind. Through Fibo's art history series (introducing high school art history AP class with art projects to elementary students, alphabeta serie to primary students) and around the world serie, I've especially experienced art as a vehicle of nurturing children's knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the world (natural and social) around them, in addition to the creativity and grit. Through Fibo's reading series, book reading (primary)/discussion (upper graders elementary) accompanied with an art project is such an inspiring model for bringing art and academics together seamlessly. Through Fibo's daily draw and creativity series, basic art knowledge, including color theory, perspectives, rule of 3rd, composition, different material properties and techniques, is introduced in an enjoyable way with a lot of room for creativity. You can get a sense of most of the series by becoming a Fibo village Facebook member or subscribe to Fibo Kids Academy Youtube channel. You can find free class videos or 3-day rental of recordings at $5. Fibo team: I do not know Miss Jasmine personally except of a few message exchanges on Facebook group page and during a few adult online classes Fibo kindly offered to the parents back in July. Miss Jessica and Miss KC were teachers of my children's in-person classes. Irealized how talented they are both in art and as a teacher for various age groups until they taught the online classes. My children also love Miss Ashely and Miss Kiatlin who also teach many online classes. Miss Jasmine values the attention and feedbacks to each student and has specifically provided the platform for Core/Master students in online classes now. As a small business owner in a difficult time, she is also proactive and sincere to work with parents to provide the best possible services to suit all parties' needs. As a mother of two young children, she is a role model not only for the children but also for the adults. It's easy to sign kids up for various activities, but it's not easy to find a team of teachers with big hearts. We are so lucky to be part of the Fibo community and hope you will enjoy it as well!

It's super convenient and provides peace of mind knowing they have live video were you can watch your children through out the day. My kids love coming here everyday. It's very secure with your own personal code to open the doors, as well as sign your children in and out. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a daycare. I will be having a new born soon and will honestly feel very comfortable leaving her here at 3 months because I know I can always watch her. And I trust the teachers here 100% they are very kind!

I do want to start off by saying Ms. Karla and Mrs. Jasmine in the office as well as many of the other teachers were amazing in the almost 4 years that my other children attended. Up until my youngest son started at Kiddie Academy I loved the school, referred people to the school and spoke so highly of it but after this incident and how HR and Corporate are handling it, it's extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. On July 2, 2026, an incident occurred between my infant son and an employee. Management reviewed surveillance footage of the incident, and the employee was subsequently removed from the classroom and terminated. Based on what I witnessed myself and what was communicated to me regarding the footage, the incident involved the employee flicking my son's in the nose, smacking his arm which made him scream and cry and flicking remaining water from her hands into his face after washing her hands. I reported the matter to Community Care Licensing and the Buena Park Police Department. One of my biggest concerns has been the handling of the surveillance footage. I specifically requested that the footage be preserved because it documented what happened to my son. I was later informed that the surveillance system automatically overwrites footage after approximately four days and that the footage was no longer available. I have repeatedly asked why footage involving an incident serious enough to result in an employee's termination was not preserved, particularly after I requested that it be saved. I have not received an explanation. I have also repeatedly requested complete written documentation regarding the incident. After more than two months of requests my emails went unread and phone calls and voicemails never answered or called back. I finally emailed again stating all the violations they were violating by keeping this information from me and sure enough I received an report that was not filled out correctly. In my opinion, the report did not adequately document what management had observed on the surveillance footage. Instead of describing the specific actions involving my son, the report stated that the "employee was terminated for not follow Kiddie Academy policies and procedures" and stated nothing else. I've emailed them again asking for a corrected report and again have been left without a response! I have also raised concerns about discrepancies between what I was told occurred and information provided in connection with the Community Care Licensing investigation. I have repeatedly requested clarification regarding those discrepancies. Throughout this process, I have sent multiple emails, made phone calls, and contacted HR and corporate seeking answers and documentation concerning my own child. Many of my questions have gone unanswered, and I have experienced significant difficulty obtaining responses. What concerns me most as a parent is the lack of transparency and communication after such a serious incident involving an infant who could not speak for himself. I am sharing my personal experience and the events as they were communicated to me and documented through my communications with the HR, corporate, law enforcement, and Community Care Licensing. Parents considering this facility may want to ask specific questions about: * How long surveillance footage is retained * Under what circumstances footage involving a serious incident is preserved * How incidents involving employees are documented * What information is reported to Community Care Licensing * What documentation parents receive when an incident involves their child * How HR and corporate communicate with families after a serious incident And what are they doing to protect our children. I trusted this facility with my infant son. After what occurred, I expected transparency, accurate documentation, preservation of relevant information, and timely communication. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I have made numerous attempts to address these concerns privately before posting publicly. I am sharing my experience now because I believe other parents have the right to ask these questions and make informed decisions about who they trust to care for their children.

Out of 4,000 Clubs we were awarded THE top award in the nation for our SMART Girls Teen Leadership Program. We do not have drugs passed around the teen center, teens who use profane language are reprimanded or sent home as our rules and expectations are very straight forward and are in writing. Our Program Director was awarded in June 2019, Professional of the Year for all 15 Clubs in OC, a huge honor for Buena Park. Our Staff do not "make teens download apps" on their phones. THE single app needed for teens to participate in this summers STEAM Photography Program was the only one required. Another fine example of our diverse hourly programming, and thus not teens just sitting around doing nothing all day. Children are not reprimanded for doing the right thing, that is asinine. However when a child is reduced to tears for being teased while changing from their wet swimsuit to dry clothes we feel that is not ok. Our service to our community is evident by the 560 registered members this summer, a record high as the families we serve continue to grow each year. Our 31% growth over the past 12 months confirms our quality staff and program as the adage Quality business thrives, bad business dies definitely rings true.

Before COVID they used to have in house workshops, but now they take the party out to the kids in city community centers, schools, etc. My friend planned a service event here so I came over to help out for a couple of hours. All the parts for the project were laid out at various stations and we went down like an assembly line and filled bags with the items to create a project-in-a-bag for each child. If I was a kid in elementary school receiving a project bag like this to put together with other classmates, I would be totally stoked. If you are interested in donating common household items for them to use, give them a call to see what they do and don't take.
