This school does not give a crap around their neighbors that they SHARE A PROPERTY LINE with. They refuse to turn their bell system off for the summer even though there is no school is session so it goes off at 7:40, 7:45, noon, 3, and 6pm at least. Sometimes it goes off at 11pm! Not to mention it's not even a bell sound, it's a LOUD buzzer sound like it's basketball. When school is in session they have the kids announcing the morning announcements to YELL - once again, completely ignorant of the fact they have neighbors. I've tried to call about turning the bell system off and the lady that answered was completely rude and ignored me. I have no other way to request they be respectful of their neighbors!! read more

Our daughter is in kindergarten and has been attending Blessed Sacrament School since she was in pre-school. BSS is currently open for in-person instruction and is following Orange County, California, diocese, and CDC guidance. They are simultaneously offering distance learning as an option. My wife and I were extremely impressed with the school from the time we first met with Mrs. Sinclair, the Early Childhood Program Director, during the pre-school school tour. The students and teachers are truly happy to be in a an environment that offers a holistic, structured education that allows children to develop essential skills, a sense of self, and an appreciation of others. The pre-school offers excellent hours-- pre-pandemic it was 7am to 6pm. This flexibility was very important to me and my wife since my normal work commute is 100 miles every day. Our daughter was often one of the first students dropped off in the morning and one of the last to be picked up, but we knew she was in good hands while we were at work. When the pandemic first struck last school year, BSS nimbly pivoted to an effective distance learning model. Mrs. Sinclair, Mrs. V., Mrs. Nguyen, Mrs. Stiles and the rest of the Early Childhood team worked tirelessly to Zoom with their students, produce videos, and put together weekly lessons and crafts which they dropped off to each student's home doorstep. The school's principal, Dr. Castillo, passionately leads a team of extremely competent and caring teachers and staff. She is a true servant-leader and leads by example. You will find her out in the car line every morning or in the afternoon during pick up time. We have also found her to be an effective listener and problem solver. We were so impressed by the way that she handled a sensitive situation last year. Mrs. Deprosse, the kindergarten teacher, is a great student motivator and is full of boundless, positive energy-- just what the students need during these trying times. The BSS school community is close and collaborative. You will even find the pastor, Fr. Tuyen, warmly greeting parents and students at the school gate on many days of the week. My son was able to attend BSS for his pre kinder year and fell in love with the school. He enjoyed all the activities and school functions and we had a blast attending them all as a family. He was having a really rough time at the beginning of the school year but with the help of their current staff, it turned out to be a fantastic one. Dr. Castillo and Ms. Flores were so helpful in the beginning and I can't thank them both enough. The new preschool director, Ms. Suzanne is absolutely wonderful! She is the sweetest person, spunky, fun and truly loves your kids like her own. His new teacher, Ms. Yvonne was the same. Very sweet, caring and goes above and beyond for her kids. They were always there for not only my son, but for me as well as a nervous mom. They were both quick to respond to my constant questions and always reassured me he was having a good time. My son absolutely fell in love with the both of them and I'm so sad we only kept him there for one year. We felt like we had been there forever. Our son just completed Pre-K at Blessed Sacrament and we could not be any happier. My husband and I struggled, and were nervous, as to where to place our only child in school. We visited three Catholic schools near our home. Blessed Sacrament was the last school we toured, we fell in love! The principal took time to sit with us and explain the school's mission and the expectations of the students and parents. We were then introduced to the Early Childhood Director, Mrs. Sinclair, who also was very helpful and patient with us. She took the time to explain to us the curriculum that our child would encounter. She did not mind answering the long list of questions that we had regarding the school, teachers, and of course the religious aspect. During the school year a strong bond grew between his teachers (that were absolutely wonderful) and his classmates. Their caring, nurturing but also firm mannerisms were what we think made it easy for us to drop off our son every morning. He was going to be in good hands! We were concerned that during the summer he would forget what he had learned and decided to approach the Director. She was quick to make time to give us guidance as we had no idea how to begin! She gave us information and tips on how to better prepare him for Kindergarten. As parents we love the community feeling that the school has. That encouraged us to not just "send" our child but for us to also be a part of it all. Parents and staff made it so easy to become involved. Our family has been at BSS for over 15 years now and we cannot recommend it enough. This school works hard day in and day out to teach the children loving and respectful values. They've always been top notch in academics and place highly every year in competitions. We have had 6 children go here and plan to enroll our little ones when they are of age. My family came to this school 7 years ago and we have enjoyed and love the school, the staff, and families. My eldest daughter graduated from this school 4 years ago and now she's off to college. I still have 1 more child in this school and I can't imagine sending her anywhere else. Last year was a challenge for my daughter in 5th grade. Our teacher had a sickness in the family and had to quit in the middle of the year and we were worried on who will replace her. But she was replaced by a wonderful and smart teacher. My daughter adored her. My daughter was continually challenged. The new teacher brought fresh perspective and the kids loved it. The reason I picked this school 12 years ago was because I saw how involved the principal was with the families, she genuinely cares for the families. Wonderful School!!!! BSS prepared my 2 sons for public high school where they both graduated with high honors and distinctions and are now honor students at CSU Long Beach. My oldest is a senior Mechanical Engineering major who is on the Deans Honor roll every semester, my 2nd son is a freshman math / statistics major and is doing excellent. We have had children in this school for over 20 years!! My daughter is currently at BSS and she is also doing very well academically and is on the schools champion jv girls volleyball team. It's an incredible learning environment and school, where all the kids are taught to be kind to one another and help each other in their learning experience. It's a great culture. BSS laid this foundation and continues to do so every day of the year. I can't praise BSS and principle Ms McAree and the teaching staff enough for their hard work, high quality education and tireless effort over the years to make this school as great as it is. My experience with the teachers and staff has all been positive. The principal and teachers are very supportive & helpful to the students and their parents. We had to pull our kid out of there afternoon knowing how their grading system, or the lack of, works. On top of that, there's a couple of teacher who are just unqualified and wacked. She is an unstable and borderline abusive to the students she doesn't like. The religious aspect was decent, but cannot offset the terrible way they run the school and classes. We are so happy to get our kid out of there and into a GATE program outside where she is doing extremely well academically and she's happier. Blessed Sacrament is a wonderful school. We have three graduates from BSS and three more at the school now. Our children are receiving a top-notch education. Not only that, but they are receiving a very thorough education in the Catholic faith. We are a practicing Catholic family and teach our children about God, church, and our faith. But I don't have to worry if we don't cover something well enough, because I know they are being taught at school. God is part of everything they do. They don't just have religion class and move on to other things. The school truly teaches them to live as Catholics. Our youngest daughter started in Blessed Sacrament at Pre K and she is now a 2nd grader. The pre-school program in Blessed Sacrament is something to be proud of. The teachers and staff in this program are great with the kids, intelligent, and very creative. From the day our oldest son entered Blessed Sacrament School (BSS) till the day our youngest son graduated a couple of weeks ago, our family have had a span of 20 years at this school. Even when we moved 18 miles from the school 5 years ago, we chose to endure the drive in order to keep our last child at BSS. we could not be happier with the education our children received. They did well moving on to high school and college, achieving their academic goals and retaining the Catholic values that were instilled in them by their teachers and principal at BSS. You will not find a more fair, loving, and dedicated principal at a Catholic school than Ms. McAree. She is a principal with principles. She works tirelessly to ensure BSS stays true to its Catholic identity, at times having to fight off pressure to bring on changes that would devalue the school. It is due to her leadership and management skills that BSS is able to offer the best education at the lowest tuition rate. She's there to greet the parents and students every morning. She's there again in the afternoon to say goodbye. All awhile looking out for the safety and the wellbeing of each child. Many of the staff have been teaching at BSS for a long time. One same teacher prepared each of our children for First Communion, and she's still there. Seventh and eighth grade are taught by 4 teachers and all are well liked by the children. With a new science lab staffed by a young innovative, energetic science teacher, my son looked forward to his science period everyday. As parents, we appreciate these teachers so much for we know they sacrifice the higher wages they might receive elsewhere to do what they believe in at BSS. Though our children are not athletes, we're very proud of the achievements of the BSS sport teams. If you are looking for a good education for your children this is not the place to look. The teachers have entitlement issues and don't provide the drive to nurture and educate their kids in this day and age. Your child will not be able to get into a good reputable college with these teachers. Their main concerns are themselves, the tuition, the donations, and activities outside of academia. They lack education and compassion themselves. A simple request in providing updates to the family about the students or bulletins can't be provided per the teacher "due to lack of funding." The teachers simply don't care about their students or their future. If you are looking for a great Catholic School please look into St. Columban, St. Bonaventure and Santa Barbara. Those schools really concentrate on academia and religion. I can contest that family members who went to these three schools were able to achieve the academia, social skills and drive to do well in high school and then further their education into reputable colleges. We have proudly been a parent of students past and present at Blessed Sacrament School since 2004 even though It is not the closest Catholic school to our home, We met with Miss McAree and knew it was the right school for out children and YES it has been. The Catholic foundation, learning support and all the teachers are the best!! We have not had one issue that was not resolved without kindness and respect. The school teaches a foundation for our kids which includes what respect is and love of Faith while educating them. They have learning support as well as accelerated learning. Because of this foundation my son received at BSS, he has grown in faith and become a well rounded, respectful young man. The learning and study skills he received at BSS really helped him transition to high school where he has excelled in and out of the classroom. This school is one of the less expensive private Catholic school in Orange County. So watch out because you will get what you are paying for! And please do not make the same mistake that I did by attracting to the school's lower tuition in choosing the best school for your children. In fact, this school had the highest turnover rate comparing to other private schools nearby, because all of its experienced, great teachers and staffs had already left this school for higher salaries at other private or public schools. In addition, many young, inexperienced, and unqualified teachers here irresponsibly did not assign enough daily homework (only 1-2) for all core subjects to their students, despite the required standards set by the Diocese of Orange. Furthermore, most of the intermediate, homeroom teachers here idly gave only 1-2 tests or quizzes to their students for the whole trimester, making it difficult for the students to get an A or better grade if they failed the test. As matter of fact, the 4th-8th grade PE teacher lazily did not post his students' grades until the last two days of the trimester. Therefore, it was almost impossible for all parents to monitor their children's progresses during the trimester and encourage them to do better in school if needed. In addition, the 4th-8th grade PE teacher always demanded all of his students to remove their sweat shirts, even on many cold, windy days out on the field, while he himself always kept his sweat shirt on all day long. And the only thing he taught all of his students from 4th-8th grades in PE was running to their death repeatedly over many school years. In fact, my children did very well academically getting straight A's in all their advance classes while they were here during the last four years. However, I still have to transfer them to another private school for better, and complete Catholic education teaching them all core subjects in depth to become well-rounded and successful people in this society. The principal was also very controlling in such a micro-management style . And she spent all of her time on catching both the parents' and students' mistakes whenever we were on her school property. But the principal did not bother to instruct or monitor her teachers or staffs to do their jobs right, even after receiving many complaints from different parents. Furthermore, the principal also did not dare to punish bullying students appropriately according to the school rules and regulations, because the bullies' parents either had donated lots of money to the school or were VIP parents. So that was one of many reasons why the principal now has to bribe illegally her leftover parents $500 ($250 cash plus 1 less Bingo work worths another $250) to get one new student enrolled into BSS for 2017-2018 school year. Please keep in mind also that this school did not have Music, Art, Technology, and Spanish teachers for all of its students throughout the whole school year as indicated on its advertisements online and on Facebook. In summary, if you only want a cheap private school and do not care about the quality of its Catholic education for your children, then this substandard school is all yours! Otherwise, please do not waste your valuable time and hardworking money on this deteriorating school, since it is no longer the best small school in town. Therefore, I would rather pay little more money elsewhere at any other private school for complete and excellent Catholic education for my children's sake. And I would not ever recommend this school to anyone at all, since one can receive a better education for free at any public school. read more

Blessed Sacrament Preschool is a warm, nurturing, and safe environment to send your child to for early education. Two of my younger children were fortunate to have their early childhood education at BSS. They received a great and positive head start in their academic and Catholic education attending BSS Pre K program. My kids were extra shy, quiet and had little social interactions with other children. The teachers and the friendly, safe environment helped my children blossomed into confident individuals. Not only that, they developed a loving and strong relationship with God that would not have been possible through just attending Sunday mass. My children learned to appreciate life, art, religion, friendship, academics, volunteering, and good work from their teachers, the principal, and the assistants. This built a strong and lasting foundation which helped them tremendously through grade schools, Jr high, high school and beyond. Now in high school, my son continues to volunteer through the altar server ministry and music ministry. My daughter was involved in teaching Sunday Bible School, Lector ministry, and music ministry before heading off to Stanford. At college, she continues her volunteer work by joining a college group that visits senior citizens' home to sing and cheer people up. None of this would have been possible if they didn't have a nurturing, safe, and wonderful learning environment at BSS. Blessed Sacrament School has been nothing less than a gift. Started my two sons there in preschool and now they are in third grade. The staff is outstanding and is very passionate about teaching the kids. Also I have to comment on how amazing the sports program is. The coaching staff is constructive and very supportive of the kids. As a mother of two children, every time I drop off my boys , I am in awe of how grounded and well behaved all the students are. If you are looking for a quality Early Childhood Education program for your children, I highly recommend Blessed Sacrament School. BSS has been our children's second home for the past 10 years. Academics and Catholic education have always been the focus for our children. Our first two children graduated from BSS and were well prepared for public high school. We are so grateful! Our third child is still a student at BSS and has been since preschool. Preschool and Pre-kindergarten years have helped her grow and develop a strong foundation academically and spiritually as a student, an individual and a Catholic over the years. She has been taught, encouraged, nurtured and affirmed by her teachers since her first day at BSS. Early Childhood Education program at BSS has met all the requirements to providing care and education to children, from different cultures and backgrounds, students with different developmental skills, from slow learners to behavioral challenges. It takes knowledge and patience to keep the classroom environment balanced and in order. Especially with young children, constant reminders about manners, hygiene and classroom procedures are part of the Early Childhood Education at BSS. Teachers at BSS are dedicated to the love of learning and inspire their students to learn more. They know how to make the classroom a place where learning is fun. They have a true passion for educating young children and are committed to bring the best out of their students. BSS is a great school with a strong Catholic identity. I took my children out of a Catholic school and homeschooled them for years because I could not find a Catholic school that was truly committed to teaching the faith. The illness of a family member made it necessary for me to put my youngest in school. This was heartbreaking for me, but it had to be done. A few friends had encouraged me to check out BSS. I made an appt. and met with the principal, Ms McAree, who could not have been kinder or more understanding. She answered my every question and concern. I signed my son up and have never looked back. My only regret was that I didn't know about BSS for my other children. He loved the school. I loved the school. It exceeded my expectations for great teachers, strong academics and a faith-filled environment. I want to especially acknowledge the principal , Ms. McAree, who provides loving direction and works tirelessly to make BSS the amazing school that it is. She is constantly among the children, helping wherever and whenever she is needed. You will rarely find her in her office. Did I mention she knows each child by name? We were both sad when it was time for him to graduate from 8th grade, but time marches on. He is now in high school doing Honors/AP level work. The academic and spiritual foundation built at BSS has prepared him well to face all the challenges of high school. read more

I was a student at Blessed Sacrament School for 9 years and it has been a very valuable experience for me. Despite other one star reviews, I am not part of some "mom club" who wrote reviews on Yelp. Throughout my years in Blessed Sacrament, every teacher I have had has been exceptional and kind. If any student needed help or had trouble understanding the content, teachers would not hesitate to lend a helping hand, and even offer "after hour lessons" to help students understand content to its full extent. Teachers have always been kind, funny, helpful, and always willing to incorporate fun into daily lessons. Students were encouraged to help one another a teacher were not available. PE teachers were in fact very fit and had a positive attitude when teaching students how to be healthy. They even had a small project about logging the food students consume daily to later analyze their nutritional patterns. Blessed Sacrament offers several programs or activities that parents may participate in to help pay their tuition such as working bingo and selling script. Daily prayers were said over the PA systems and included prayers aimed specifically to those families in need. I was fortunate enough to be apart of the CIA program (Christian's in Action), ASB, and various sports such as volleyball and basketball. I can assure you all these groups are extremely welcoming and are quick to make you feel at home. Blessed Sacrament is not a typical school where cliques take over the school. Students talked to students and exclusion of students has almost never been an issue. As I had moved on into a public high school, Blessed Sacrament has reminded me of what truly lies at the center of my heart, God. There are many temptations in this world and Blessed Sacrament and it's amazing teachers have rooted my faith deep within me. I have two grandsons that have graduated from BSS and both have gone on to college after graduating from Mater Dei and the other from Servite.The both received a great education and wonderful religious training which they have continued to use throughout their lives. read more
