Staff here are very lovely and the food is so surprisingly good. I like to sit outdoor in the garden and enjoy the delicious food and sunshine . Unfortunately today Sunshine is absent, but the delicious food is there.

    Shakshuka, and an Americano

My friends and I decided to grab some breakfast here. I was blown away by the Shakshuka. It was delicious and filling, the best food I've had on my trip here. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. I'd definitely come back if I ever found myself in Pitlochry again. The French toast was added as a shareable plate for the table. Safe to say those were quickly eaten as well . Cheers.

We had the fried squid and haggis bon bons for a starter and then the duck shared for a main. It was all amazing and really good quality. The duck especially is exquisite. Very good value for money as well.

Nachos!! Served with chilli Scottish beef, salsa, jalapeno peppers & cheese, topped with sour cream and chives

We stopped by Victoria's after attempting a dinner at "Old Mill Inn" and leaving prior to ordering. This was exactly what my husband and I were looking for! The waiter was a bit "meh" and so not my favorite (I overheard him tell the table next to us that if he could cook food as yummy as Victoria's then he would have no need for a wife. Har. Har. Har. Sexism is so witty and fun!!!) but the food was awesome!! We started with the nachos and were so excited with what we got - melted cheese, awesome Scottish beef, chili, salsa, sour cream and jalapeños! Super easy to eat, yummy and great comfort food. I went with the carbonara pasta with pancetta, mushrooms and garlic in a cream sauce. Completely spot on! My husband went with the Italian style chicken wrapped in prosciutto and filled with mozzarella. All in all? Great meal. Fair prices. "Meh" server with stupid lame jokes.

My fiance and I ate there twice during a 2-day visit to Pitlochry, because we just couldn't imagine getting anything as good for as fair a price. It is a tiny wee place, but worth a bit of crampiness.

Popped into the Strathgarry for a wee caffeine based pick me up on a Friday afternoon. From the…read morestreet this place looks really nice: Smart staff, lovely solid wooden furniture and decorated in a contemporary style. But when we walked through the door the smell of drains should have us running for the hills. Unfortunately, when you have a small child in desperate need of juice rapid changes of direction are ill-advised, if not impossible. I really wish that I could say that the smell was a glitch and that everything else was wonderful. It wasn't. The drain smell did seem to be confined to the corridor so we sat down. We hadn't even managed to get our arms our of jackets when a waitress appeared. No greeting, no smile, no eye contact "Drinks?". We obviously didn't look hungry because no sooner had we asked for a drink each she was gone, answering the phone must take precedence over serving customers. We waited until she came back with our drinks to order scones. I wouldn't have bothered had I realised that even serving our drinks was too big an ask. My coffee was as good as thrown at me and no acknowledgement was made to the fact that a good portion of the cappuccino ended up in the saucer. The scones were served/launched in the same manner with butter portions ending up off plates and on the table. At this point it was getting a bit funny. If starring in Fawlty Towers is your idea of a good afternoon out. Sadly the scones and drinks didn't compensate for the crap service. The coffee was weak, watery and lukewarm and the scones didn't look or taste homemade. The best bit about the Strathgarry was looking in the window. Once you've done this keep on walking. Unless you have money to waste having a good giggle at how bad service can be.

The more surprising thing is that this oversight hadn't even occurred to us until we sat down for lunch at the Bridge Cafe and saw that a couple of different breakfast plates were on option. It was not too late! I think we both went with the "Wee Yin," which was only £6 and came with an egg, meat (lorne sausage for me), bacon, a tattie scone, beans, and toast. I don't think I have a small appetite, but this was plenty. (The "Big Yin" adds additional good stuff for £2.5 more: haggis, black pudding, and mushrooms. I'd have to wait till the next morning to get some haggis and black pudding...) This was simple but hearty eating, and very satisfying at the midpoint of a drive from Skye back to the Edinburgh area. Spean Bridge is a charming little place, and this spotless cafe is colorful, has plenty of natural light, and a cheerful air to it. At one point, a couple of the young servers picked up instruments (acoustic guitar and accordion) just behind us, and I thought we were going to be subjected to acoustic jam versions of pop songs, just like those dreaded at a certain chain sandwich shop in the States. But this was pretty great, just an interlude of a couple of sprightly yet gentle instrumentals, and then they were back to their tables. Excellent spot.
