**WARNING** This is a lengthy review and you WILL be hungry after reading!…read more Just outside Perth and a short detour from the A9 lies Tibbermore (I know, cute right!), a typical 'blink and you'll miss it' kinda place, but really, just don't blink cos this place is awesome! It really does have it all - fresh fruit and vegetables all leafy and colourful, a gin lovers corner, wonderful cheese and meats deli, health foods section including a variety a GF flours, breads and oatcakes (try their own oatcakes, completely different from the brand that sounds like Talkers but sooo much tastier!), tray upon tray of freshly laid eggs...I could go on but you get the idea! And that's just the food section! They also have a glorious gift section where I could've easily spent a small fortune. Everything from kitchen gadgets to picnic baskets, kiddie gifts to Emma Bridgewater pottery and everything in between. I spotted a few local producers too which I loved as I always like to see locals businesses supporting each other. Then there's the café/restaurant which has a few outdoor tables but plenty inside if they're taken; the day I visited it was glorious but somehow we got lucky and got a table outside (my shoulders can prove that #scottishtan!...). The menu has lots of tasty options incorporating as much of their own produce as possible - I opted for the Homemade Chicken Liver pate while my parents both had the Smoked Ayrshire Ham & Gloagburn Curried Banana Chutney sandwich (Dad went hunting for the ham to buy later he was that impressed!). Once decided, we had to go inside and order at the counter; I'm not sure if this was due to us sitting outside or standard practise as when we asked for a second round of coffees (and some more oatcakes for me as I'd ran out!), a waitress came over with one of those electronic hand-held thingys to take that order so I wondered why she couldn't have done that initially, anyway, not really a star-affecting issue. Pricewise, we were just shy of £10/head for a sandwich and coffee (exc our 2nd coffee round), a tad steep but it's all fresh and local produce so I don't mind paying that when you know you're getting good quality (and it really was!). Given it's out-the-way location it's a busy wee place but worth the trip as you could easily spend a couple of hours here eating and browsing. There's plenty parking available and even a small play area for kids. Farm Shops like this don't come around too often, which is a shame as they really are wee gems of places!

It was a Monday night, not too busy but quite a few inside. The people working were all very nice and attentive! Out of the two meals we got I couldn't pick a favorite! There is a nice flower rimmed patio here that would have been our preference but alas Scottish weather did not cooperate. Interior basic tables and chairs. Attentive service much appreciated. A number of Scottish cuisine dishes caught my eye while perusing the menu. We picked Garlic Bread to start, mainly due to the fact that across the board we have enjoyed amazing breads while in Scotland. Though it could have had more garlic flavor, the bread was delicious. My DW was not overly hungry so she chose the Beetroot and Goat Cheese salad. This was pronounced delicious and mention was made of the mild, not too robust, flavor of the cheese. Scottish lamb-Roast Rump of Perthshire Lamb-was my choice. Served with ratatouille & dauphinoise potatoes, both of which I felt were truly outstanding. The potatoes especially were an excellent compliment to the lamb. I was pleasantly surprised how the flavor of the lamb was much less "gamey" than most of my past experiences. The unctuous flavor was eye opening and the red wine jus added deep flavor to the dish. Loved it. We skipped dessert here for the ice cream shop down the street. If you visit Pitlochry, be advised that the tourist busses can flood the town day and evening so if you want to visit Victoria's, best to make a reservation. Highly recommended.

On arrival night, we decided to treat ourselves to a pub dinner. We have our 1 year old with us, so managed to get a table no problem at 17.00. However, if you wanted to dine a little later I would recommend booking, as the staff told us they are busy from 7 onwards. It is only 5 miles from Pitlochry, so I think it is very popular with locals and visitors alike, and also draws in the pre-thetare crowd from the Pitlochry Festival Theatre. This is a beautiful building, established in 1710, and has been renovated to a very high standard. I didn't get a really good look around, as the 1 year old keeps me occupied, but it seems like a large space with lots of little nooks and crannys to explore. There is a buzzer system to use, which allows you to alert the staff that you are ready for your next course, or want the bill... A great idea for a large space, especially when you have a little one with you who isn't always the most patient of diners! As for the menu, there was lots to choose from. I opted for penne pasta in a cream sauce with strips of Ayrshire bacon, and my other half opted for battered North Sea haddock & chips. Both dishes were delicious and well presented. As for the kids menu - there were some nice choices, but I felt expensive at £8.25 for a main course, a drink and ice-cream. The food however was once again delicious and fresh. This is a lovely place to dine if you are staying in Pitlochry, or the surroundings, and perfect if you happen to be staying in Logierait Lodges. I think we may end up here once more during our week in Perthshire!
