We are currently staying in Logierait Lodges & Cottages, and The Logierait Inn is perfectly situated... less than 50m from our lodge!
On arrival night, we decided to treat ourselves to a pub dinner. We have our 1 year old with us, so managed to get a table no problem at 17.00. However, if you wanted to dine a little later I would recommend booking, as the staff told us they are busy from 7 onwards. It is only 5 miles from Pitlochry, so I think it is very popular with locals and visitors alike, and also draws in the pre-thetare crowd from the Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
This is a beautiful building, established in 1710, and has been renovated to a very high standard. I didn't get a really good look around, as the 1 year old keeps me occupied, but it seems like a large space with lots of little nooks and crannys to explore. There is a buzzer system to use, which allows you to alert the staff that you are ready for your next course, or want the bill... A great idea for a large space, especially when you have a little one with you who isn't always the most patient of diners!
As for the menu, there was lots to choose from. I opted for penne pasta in a cream sauce with strips of Ayrshire bacon, and my other half opted for battered North Sea haddock & chips. Both dishes were delicious and well presented.
As for the kids menu - there were some nice choices, but I felt expensive at £8.25 for a main course, a drink and ice-cream. The food however was once again delicious and fresh.
This is a lovely place to dine if you are staying in Pitlochry, or the surroundings, and perfect if you happen to be staying in Logierait Lodges. I think we may end up here once more during our week in Perthshire! read more
