Absolutely gorgeous, cosy cafe style Victorian Tea Rooms at Straffan Courtyard is a must to visit for a cuppa and snack if you're in that part of the world. It's a pretty small little Cafe but does have lovely outdoor seating in the courtyard during the summer months. What I particularly loved is that the food and drink are all served on genuine victorian and old style cups, saucers and plates etc - I presume all sourced through their antique shop right next door. They serve breakfast most mornings, lunch can be quiche, soup, stews or delicious salads or open sandwiches - all freshly prepared in full view by the chef. They have a selection of deliciously yummy cakes of all descriptions and even sell some to take home along with brown bread. A special is afternoon tea from 2.30 to 3.30 daily and they also open for Sunday lunch, but you may need to book if you are going with a group of people. When you're belly is full of goodness, why not digest your food whilst strolling around the wonderful antique, vintage, fashion, gift and furniture shops, all within the same courtyard. read more
