The Tea House Restaurant is a recently opened restaurant near Glendalough. It has a fairytale-like garden and if the weather is nice, you'll be able to sit among the rusted, ornamental hens, swinging chairs and playing kitties. The restaurant is under a bright conservatory and the furnishing is delicate, ornate and farmy.
All of the food is homemade on the premises and it tastes wholesome and flavoursome. The bree tartlets were light and tangy and the rhubarb pie was sweet and crumbly. Other dishes included soup, fish pie and beef in Guinness. The menu wasn't extensive but the options were all tasty and the atmosphere was relaxing, just as it should be in the middle of the Wicklow countryside.
Pop in here on your way back from Glendalough - it'll be welcome fare after a good long walk in the valley and you're guaranteed a warm, homey welcome. read more
