Even if you just have been at the animal shelter and walked some dogs, now you are wet and cold and want to go for a hot chocolate - this is the place to go. They sell lots of wooden stuff here such as garden sheds and swing sets and there are lots of chintzy stuff inside like metal rocking chairs and cushions. They had a walk in sewing room on view which made me almost wish I could sew but I can barely darn a sock! Prices of the sheds and benches was not overly expensive and came with the option of construction for you at an extra cost.

Other places worth dining with be Lynham's Hotel Bar Restaurant and Wicklow Heather which have higher quality foods. The cafe is more for a quick stop. My wife picked a quiche that came with three sides that she kindly shared with me. I opted for a bowl of tomato soup with cheese bread. Both dishes were warm and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our sides of Asian salad, fresh fruit and Greek salad with the latter our favorite. The combination of broccoli, feta cheese and dressing was addictive. My tomato soup was the best also full of flavor and very warming. The cheese bread was handy to sop up the remaining soup that escaped my spoon. The folks working there were quite friendly and helpful. The dining area had plenty of room and tables were quickly bussed whenever someone left. A great lunch spot.

Powerscourt Terrace is a nice little cafe establishment in the heart of Enniskerry…read more There are a few things which I wanted to note for anyone not local to the area attempting to navigate here: 1: you're going to have to follow signs, as you'll have basically have zero cellphone reception until you get into powerscourt directly. 2: you do have free wifi in powerscourt, but still no cell signal - at least from 3. The place has some nice choices as far as food - there are plenty of vegetarian options and effectively everything is designed around the concept of "main + 3 salads". I'm not saying do the sad vegetarian option of "you must have salad/you must get a cobb salad without chicken", either. This main + salads idea is a concept all over Ireland, essentially - a main course for one price, and a separate price for that main course with 3 sides. Sadly, the concept basically requires the salads - as you'll commonly find that the main course is a bit small, even for Euro sized meals. This doesn't mean you'll be missing anything, though - as thankfully the salads happen to be absolutely excellent. I happened to try an Edamame and Chickpea salad as one of the choices I had, and it was pretty well made. To complement that was a cooked broccoli, feta and tomato salad along with an asian inspired noodle salad - all of these went perfectly with the spinach quiche I selected. Wifey had the Edamame Chickpea salad as well, but chose a carrot salad along with an awesome lentil loaf - all complemented with an Elderflower drink. Meals are rotated, so I'm not honestly sure if you would see these same main course options as it probably rotates throughout any given day or week. I would suspect the salads probably stay the same, as I noticed the same options in Avoca/Arklow/Gorey at a number of restaurants as well. What does this all add up to? Well, it boils down to an experience like this: You have pretty good food choices that are pretty well made, which are noticeably pricey. All the while you eat these whether indoors or outdoors wasps are going to try to eat your meal with you, so I sincerely hope nobody going here has a wasp allergy. This goes on with hilariously terrible wifi coverage. It was 38 EUR for the two of us. So basically tourist establishment + pricey but nice food and nice places to sit. Oh, and make sure you don't mix it up with the fast food equivalent just next door to the actual cafe.

Entry to the house is very reasonable and the guided tours are excellent. Take the 67 or 67A bus from Westmoreland Street to the town of Celbridge. The bus costs €2.20 and takes anything from 30 minutes to one hour depending on the traffic. Once you alight in the village it's a ten minute walk up a beautiful tree lined avenue to the house. Don't forget to have coffee and scones in the excellent cafe!

The food was delightful and we were thinking this little community is blessed to have a place like this here. The menu is a cafe with a range of food from sandwiches to pizza to pasta. They have breakfast, deserts and drinks. We had photo error but actually had pasta and a superfood salad. The pasta was flavorful and used Spanish style chorizo. The superfood salad had yams, hummus, quinoa, various greens and I added chicken. It was bright and flavorful. The soup was a wonderful standout as was the treacle bread that came with it. It felt like home. The desert was a carrot cake with blueberries which was also remarkably light and the blueberry was a surprisingly beautiful addition. We can easily see why this place was a five! If you want a lovely stop off the N7, this is the stop for you.

Everything was fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious. The full Irish breakfast was spot-on (and they even allowed substitutions), and lunch was just as memorable. You can truly taste the care that goes into every dish. What really set Poppy's apart, though, was the hospitality. They went above and beyond -- even offering to meet us early the next morning so we could pick up something on our way to the airport. That kind of kindness is rare and unforgettable. If you're looking for authentic Irish comfort food served with genuine warmth, don't miss this place. It's a true gem. Note - they are close to Powercourt Hotel. As we entered this establishment, we were greeted with the charm of the friendly staff and the quaint and cheerful interior unique to each region of Ireland. The restaurant is under a bright conservatory and the furnishing is delicate, ornate and farmy. All of the food is homemade on the premises and it tastes wholesome and flavoursome. The bree tartlets were light and tangy and the rhubarb pie was sweet and crumbly. Other dishes included soup, fish pie and beef in Guinness. The menu wasn't extensive but the options were all tasty and the atmosphere was relaxing, just as it should be in the middle of the Wicklow countryside. Pop in here on your way back from Glendalough - it'll be welcome fare after a good long walk in the valley and you're guaranteed a warm, homey welcome.
