Called Friday, 5/22 around 4pm. A woman answered. I said I had a number of problems to be treated. She then laughed as she asked me what they were. I asked her if she was laughing at me and she said "do you want me to help you?" which was strange. For the rest of the call as I gave her my information ,she had an irritated tone. At the end of the call I thanked her and she just said "mm" and hung up. This is obviously no way to treat a potential client. Hopefully, the owner will reply to my concern and I'll be able to update this review with a better score. Update: Owner called back right away, took my concern seriously and sounds like she's on top of things, so the extra star is for her. Fortunately, I found another PT place in the same neighborhood and spoke to a much more pleasant and professional receptionist on the phone, so I won't have to worry about seeing whoever I spoke to at Ocean again.

Easily the best physical therapy provider I've ever experienced and I've been to more than a few…read moreover the years. Everything about this organization and the way it is run is top notch. Crystal, my physical therapist, was amazing. She spent 30-40 minutes each session assessing my progress, working on what needed attention, and what exercises would be best givien how I was feeling since our last session. She modified my exercises with the physical therapist aides for every session to maximize the areas of need to accelerate my recovery. The physical therapist aides were also great. Each aide provided 1-on-1 attention to walk through each exercise. Many were also working toward getting their own physical therapy degrees. The front desk is one of the most friendly and competent front desks I've come across anywhere. In addition, they also provide a 24/7 full service customer portal with a wide range of online services above the usual invoice payments and insurance details. You could cancel or reschedule your appointments in real time, send messages or ask questions, check your upcoming scheduled appointments, and more. You can also subscribe and sync to your own calendar (Google, Apple, etc.) which will sync new and updated appointment details along with physical therapist name, date and time. There's really no need to call to make changes unless you want to talk with someone. I highly recommend this place if you need quality physical therapy care.

Guy was a very attentive and enthusiastic PT that helped get me back on track after a dislocated…read moreshoulder and torn labrum. He did a detailed intake when we started to assess where I was in recovery and what exercises to start with. He always explained in detail how each exercise was beneficial and what muscle areas and type of exercise it was addressing (I.e. mobility, strength). He was also open to ideas I suggested for additional exercises and even ended up adding a few based on my ideas. He sent me updated exercise programs every week highlighting any changes to the routine as well as links to tutorial videos demonstrating the exercises. He remarked how quickly I made progress through the exercises at first but didn't hesitate to hold me accountable when certain areas fell behind (I.e. range of motion) and suggested doing additional repetitions in the lagging area to help get me back on track. I kept him up to date on updates I received from my doctor via post op appointments, and while my doctor erred on the side of caution when discussing my long term functionality with my injured shoulder, Guy was more optimistic that I could regain my pre-injury form as long as I worked consistently at it. Additionally, Guy was very easy to talk to and we'd go on tangents talking about bike riding, hiking, our childhoods, etc while he was helping loosen up my arm in the beginning of our sessions. I think that definitely made me feel more at ease with navigating my recovery, and we were able to wrap up our sessions in just six months. Guy made sure to send me off with a home program that I could build off of and also offered to answer any lingering questions I might have with a quick email. As for the practice itself, Renew Physical Therapy was one of the only practices that accepted my insurance and also made scheduling/rescheduling/cancelling appointments quite easy. Whenever there was no availability their waitlist system was straightforward to use (although cancellation appointments did fill up fast). Great practice, great guy (pun intended), would recommend for your physical therapy needs!

With the help of Jona, and also Tim, my shoulder is making a full recovery. It's taken over a year this time, but they never gave up on me and my healing. I am already able to be more active, and I will soon be able to participate in activities, like tennis, that I thought were never going to be possible for me again. And, the whole staff is kind and supportive, so that I truly enjoy my weekly visits.
