Their care for very old and very sick people, some left unresponsive after strokes was full of humanity. I spent at the Lawton Center 2 weeks and all my requests were met with such willingness and smile that I wanted to ask for something else just to see this expression of kindness and benevolence. I would easier trust my own mother to them than to myself, because they were really SKILLED. I asked my friend working in the medical field how such good work of personnel could be achieved? She answered that it could be only the result of responsible supervision of the attentive bosses. I met Lawton Center's Administrator Dan Daly and Director of Nursing Natasha Daragan, who WERE responsible for their crew's coordination and hard work. They themselves are watching everything like hawks and it shows. I appreciated the work of physical therapists who helped patients as a team and individually. The case worker Rudy also was very helpful in complicated and nerve-wrecking dealings with insurance. Absolutely fantastic was CNA Sheryl, who was not only superbly professional, but personally very kind. The society which cares so much for sick and elderly is a pinnacle of civilization. Thanks God that America still has this island of humanity The only bad side is that food is too good for the people who want to lose weight. Tatiana Menaker

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this one matters…read more I was referred to Lawton Nursing & Rehab after a major surgery and confirmed with both Cigna and UCSF that they were in-network. Lawton's staff flat-out refused to even check or speak to the insurer - instead, they rudely denied care and hung up on attempts to clarify coverage. When you're recovering from a serious procedure, this kind of treatment is not only disheartening - it's dangerous. Patients deserve empathy and basic professionalism. Lawton failed on both counts.

She was a person of interested that pretending to be his caregiver. However, she is not a real caregiver, she was taking all of his money and causing him to be sick. This place do not care about their patients. The communication is bad, the staff do not communicate with each other. They never inform the people at the front with any information. I had to drive always from Vallejo to be informed that my brother had been discharged. When in fact the front desk worker had no idea or been informed that he had been checked out. When I visited my brother I heard the patients complaining about the services they were getting. It's unfortunately, that a place like this is one of the worst heath care facility in San Francisco. Between a 2 and 3 star review. My mom-in-law was here for about a week after a hospitalization. We…read morewould never place her here again. They are very understaffed and that's probably demoralizing the care team, and it shows in the way they treat their patients and patient families. Dont try to call the nurse stations, no one ever picks up and no one returns voicemails - their staff even said to us that vm won't be returned. Any time we asked a question of the care team, when we could hunt someone down, they didn't know the answer and gave us a blank look. I was speaking with one nurse and he ignored me and was filling out a form for someone else the entire time. You have to REALLY go in person and demand attention and advocate for your family member's needs. For the week she was there, one of the two elevators was down so we took the fire escape stairs (which staff recommended) since the only working one was SO slow. Obviously the patients can't take the stairs so the worst part was it meant there was no access to the whole 6th floor - which is where the physical therapy/rehab space is!! So ignore their pics of PT equipment and the pretty glass roof and view, it was blocked off for all the patients! It also meant they canceled all the communal activities! Also the food is terrible, so mom barely ate anything the whole time she was there. We visited every day and never saw veggies, and saw plain hotdogs (no condiments) and tots, dry gyros, etc., and cheap fake extremely sugary "fruit juice". Nothing healthy at all.

I will say Remy (nurse) and Ray (cna) were absolutely amazing and the only good thing from this facility

You will be happy to hear that she is already doing much better in her new home than she was just a few days ago! It's a lovely room in a supportive and caring community and I feel like she will have every opportunity to thrive there. Please use the following recommendation/review in any way you'd like in your promotional materials etc.: "I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Dora for her exceptional assistance in helping us find a senior living apartment for my elderly aunt. Throughout the entire process, Dora demonstrated an extraordinary level of dedication, professionalism, and compassion. From the very beginning, Dora went above and beyond to make an overwhelming situation manageable. She accompanied us on multiple tours, asked insightful and important questions we wouldn't have thought of, and provided invaluable guidance at every step. Her presence made us feel more confident and informed in our decision-making process. One of the most helpful aspects of working with Dora was how she took on the burden of communication. She handled sales calls and follow-ups, ensuring we were not overwhelmed by constant outreach. Additionally, Dora was present during the care assessments at my aunt's nursing home prior to her placement. She effectively interfaced with the nursing home staff, advocating for my aunt's needs and ensuring a smooth transition to her new home. Dora's support was not only professional but also deeply personal. Her kindness and understanding made a challenging process significantly easier, and we are incredibly grateful for her assistance. I would not hesitate to recommend Dora to anyone navigating the complexities of finding the right senior living arrangement for a loved one. She is an invaluable resource and a true advocate for families during this important time."

I went to two different massage therapists before finding Lidys. It is one thing going to a LDM specialist and another to go to someone with a nursing background and understands what your body goes through during the recovery process. I had fibrosis growing in my back and the two specialists I saw before Lidys did not mention it or try to address the problem at all. Thankfully I found her and she was able to get out my fibrosis lumps significantly in one session and completely in the second. Don't get scammed by these other lymphatic specialist that demand you buy 6-10 treatment sessions. She was honest and told me I only needed two treatments which was true. She also recommends stretches, garments and foams that made such a huge difference in my recovery. Thank you Lidys! And to anyone looking for after care massages after surgery there is no one in San Francisco better than Lidys.

The first 48 hours after surgery were the most challenging. I experienced pain, swelling, and blurry vision. I wasn't able to care for myself during that time, but thankfully, I had arranged for Lidys to take care of me. I met with Lidys before my operation, and I was very impressed by her knowledge and professionalism. I decided immediately that she would be the perfect post-operative care nurse for me. Lidys picked me up from the surgeon's recovery room 12 hours after my surgery and brought me back to my hotel room. She was by my side every step of the way during those first difficult 48 hours--helping me eat, sleep, stand, walk, and use the bathroom. Lidys is highly knowledgeable about pain management. I was in a lot of pain and needed Norco regularly, but she was very careful about balancing the medication to avoid constipation, which could have affected my healing. She scheduled my doses with precision and care to ensure I was comfortable and healing properly. She is also an expert in operating the AquaCool system. Because I had blepharoplasty, she carefully used cotton pads to protect my eyelids before applying the cooling mask. Lidys truly went above and beyond--she gave me gentle massages, made nourishing soups, and even called my friend daily to update them on my condition. After the initial 48 hours, I arranged for another caregiver to continue my care, and Lidys personally trained her on how to manage my medications and recovery routine. I truly believe that without Lidys's exceptional care, I would not have recovered so quickly or smoothly. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of post-operative recovery support.
