She did not mention that this would not be enough time to alter my dress when I initially booked the appointment over the phone. She didn't ask any follow-up questions and just booked me. Fast forward to today, I go in and arrive 15 minutes early to be courteous and punctual. I awkwardly stand there for 5 minutes without any acknowledgment, and then a women (I'm assuming is her) comes over and takes my dress. When she is going to hang it up, I asked her if it was okay that I brought a second dress (my rehearsal dinner dress) but before I could even finish she harshly cuts me off and told me "you need sit down, I have another client". I was very taken aback but how rude she was and it honestly caught me off guard. It was so bad I almost debated just taking my dress back and leaving but because I had waited a month for this appointment and my wedding was in a month, I figured I might as well see it through. Huge mistake. I change into my dress and describe to her the alternations I was looking for, which is to shorten it a little and also remove the breast cups. I did not think it was a significant amount of alternations but she seemed to think so. She then proceeded to tell me that she "may" be able to do it, but then looked at her calendar and said that she couldn't guarantee it. I honestly was so confused because she knew my wedding date when she booked this consultation appointment. If it wasn't something that could be done I feel she should've just told me up front rather than let me wait until the appointment. At that point I didn't even put up a fight as in the back of my mind, I knew I wouldn't have been comfortable with her altering my dresses anyways. She gave off the impression that if anything needed tweaking or wasn't to your satisfaction you would be SOL. All in all, a huge waste of my time. It would've been less of a bad experience if she wasn't so rude upfront. I'm starting to think her 5-star google reviews are faked, as at least on Yelp there are a few honest reviews that mention her bad attitude to her clients so it seems to be a common theme. I have no doubt she would've done a good job at the alternations, but that trust was gone.

The tailor, Dmitriy was incredibly skilled and friendly. Without trying it on he knew he needed to take it in atleast 2" on both sides. The price was very reasonable and the turnaround time was less than 30mins. The final result was perfect. I tried it on to make sure he didn't need to take it in any further, and he did not! I was back on the first row of hooks!! I took it off and he reinforced the initial stitching to ensure there would be no tears. My son is tall and extremely slim so having his items tailored/altered is a must. The first initial visit was good however the pants were still baggy. So she had to take them in some more. I picked them up, my son still didn't like them so we went back for another fitting. She said she's never done skinny type pants on a suit before and said some costumers get upset. So she was scared to take them in more. We reassured her it was fine and that it wouldn't be a problem because this is how he likes his pants. Picked them up a third time and they are PERFECT! If you arrive by car, street parking is sparse, but there are some spots available. The inside is quaint, but has all the space needed. I walked in and was instructed to go in the back. I was a bit confused, because I didn't communicate what I needed and there was already a customer in the rear. In the back cubby hole, it's the sewing station to the left, the fitting room in front of you and a storage room to the right. I entered the fitting room, put on the pants I wanted hemmed and the owner put one pin in the right leg. By the time I took the pants off and went to the counter to checkout, the pin came out. I had to go and put the pants back on for him to put only two pins on the same side. When I was ready to check out, the cashier took my information and stated I could pay now or at pick up. My hemming was $30 and if I used a card, there was an additional $5 fee. My pants were slated to be ready in 2 business days but they were ready the next day. All in all, Nicky's has been around for a long time based on the pictures inside of the tailor shop. I think his approach to his work and the overall quality has gotten too lax and comfortable.
