She was truly terrifying! Never before have I been more afraid. Except for that one time.

The idea of ear plugs for his sensitive ears. Picking out songs he likes so he can learn them with other kids. His teacher is great! And he is really enjoying it! The lessons are twice a week so it keeps drumming in his head. It feels like he is on his way to be in a kid band instead of stuck in a sound proof room playing patterns. We are very happy with the whole experience. The office manager is professional, smart and well organized. The teachers are talented and good to the kids. We will be here for a while! I look forward to my son's concerts in the future! PS - we have been to several concerts performed by a plethora of students. Very cool. Great experience!!

I don't understand this place. I got an initial call back to discuss how the place works, but then…read morescheduling a trial lesson was like pulling teeth-- calling, emailing, finally texting. Took forever. Got to the trial lesson only to be told the person we'd worked so hard to get wasn't available so it's with so-and-so. Uh. Fine, but we picked the other person for a reason. And booked another trial with the original teacher, only to get to THAT lesson and realize it's still not the instructor we'd been aiming for. While sitting during the lesson, another student walked in and was told "oh so-and-so is no longer with us so this other person will be your teacher today." What? So you're not told ahead of time? (The mom asked when they'd known this teacher was leaving and it was two weeks prior, but they didn't bother to give anyone notice.) I find it strange that you pay in advance for these situations. Anyway. It's too poorly managed for me, which is too bad because it is certainly a great concept.

DCDA is a new ballroom dance studio in Fairfax that's the home of the best dance coaches in the D.C. area. As a new facility, DCDA is incredibly bright, clean, and inviting. DCDA has a huge schedule packed with group classes for beginners through high-level competitive dancers in virtually every style under the sun - Standard (e.g. Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep), Latin (e.g. Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba), social dancing (e.g. Salsa), and even exercise dances like Zumba. Wedding dance lessons are also offered. Prices here are always extremely reasonable across the board, particularly given the quality of dance instruction and the reasonable size of the group classes. Unlike many other dance studios, DCDA makes dance fun and accessible. The classes here are detailed without being overwhelming and invigorating without being exhausting. As such, beginners can learn a lot without being intimidated, and experienced dancers can be challenged without becoming bored. Because everyone here is - without exception - friendly and talented, there are no awkward moments. Rather, there's a sort of intoxicating accessibility to classes here that I've never seen at any other studio: even the most relatively complicated topics are made understandable, fun, and useful. As amazing as the group classes here are, the private lessons are also amazing. The current instructors at DCDA - Lydia Petrigova and Anna Mikhed - are world-renowned competitors with a keen eye in virtually every aspect of ballroom dancing, which has led them to coach some truly amazing competitive couples. Bluntly put, their insight is worth its weight in gold. I've been working with Lydia for years now, and it's been the best thing that's ever happened to my dance career. If you have even a scintilla of interest in dance, you owe it to yourself to go to DCDA!

I was fearful that sometimes good dancers don't always make good teachers, especially for kids, who have unique needs. but Nikita and Vlad have both been amazing, and it's really always a pleasure dealing with Travis who runs the business/front desk side of things, and the director lydia is also so kind and helpful. now I've started taking group class too and it's a blast. not only are the teachers good at dancing and teaching, they make the entire process enjoyable. no matter what kind of mood we enter this place with, we always leave happy and energized.

We were so lucky he agreed to drive well outside of his usual area to perform. His illusions were mesmerizing, and he expertly handled a room full of inquisitive and skeptical kids by getting most of them involved in his performance. He gave a great message in the end of the performance also, drawing on the themes of inclusion and acceptance from the Harry Potter stories, which the adults present also mentioned as being a highlight. We cannot say enough great things about his professionalism and performance and we would highly recommend him for any event!

Vick had a wonderful story line and great tricks that kept everyone's attention! We had some guests that are very skeptical of magic tricks, and he still blew them away! I'm so happy we had him! We ended up starting his show a little late, unfortunately, but he was incredibly patient, set-up, and mingled with a few guests while he waited! He then put on a 45-50 minute show for all of us, and included some guests, my father, and us in the show! I highly recommend him for ANY event -- weddings, birthdays (children AND adult), social events, etc. Thanks, Vick!
