The ONLY nice thing I can say about this dingy hole in the wall shop is that their prices are…read moresomewhat reasonable, taking the fact that they are located in the expensive area of the Beaches (Toronto) into consideration, which isn't saying much. They are as RUDE as shop keepers come. I smile, say "hows your day", et., and I get a scowl in return. Not sometimes, ALWAYS. Please do NOT ever even contemplate buying flowers from this shop! If a $24 Orchid mysteriously dies within 3 days on you - it absolutely must be your fault! (mine generally last longer than a mont) Forget about getting your money back or a replacement. It may even be suggested to you that you have picked the flowers and buds off on purpose? In other words - you are insane! Your home is too hot? You don't have a receipt because they are not in habit of giving out receipts. You may get one if you unequivocally demand one. If dare suggest that there may have been something wrong with the Orchid (or probably anything they sell), you may just find yourself banned from this place and the lovely accommodating people who work here. Good riddance! Adieu!

Plenty of selection with some at rock bottom prices where the incentive is to move their product, rather than to maximize a profit. That's appreciated when you just need to cook and are not in the market for tourist activities. It's right across from Essence on the corner of Kensington beside rasta pasta. No need to go anywhere else, as they 'have it all'. Cash only.

Since the location is usually busy, the stock gets replenished frequently and they never run out of any items, at least not during the times I have visited. Plus during the warmer months there's an abundance of fresh produce and herbs to purchase for your own indoor/outdoor gardens at home. It seemed like the whole outside of the store is lined with mini containers screaming take me home, take me home and pick me, pick me. I'm always tempted to buy some as it'll be convenient to have freshly available produce at home, but just haven't taken the bait yet since I like coming to the market. The selection of fruits and vegetables may seem overwhelming, but everything is neatly organized and labeled well for easy identification and pricing. Whatever I'm looking for or want, they seem to have at any given time. They even have fiddleheads which not many places in the market carries. Overall, a good place to pick up fresh produce without paying too much and one of my go-to places in the market.

My hungry hippo and I got the delicious organic popsicles, and then I couldn't resist the 3/$5 pierogi deal at the table right next door. I will certainly be returning for produce, lamb and just about everything else you need to start your week off right. What a perfect little Monday pocket of Parkdale!

I am a big fan of Dufferin Grove and found this one to be right up to par, with a lot of the same smiling faces and many new supplies to meet! It was the eve of Thanksgiving Monday. I ended up picking up some sunchokes, fresh dill and blue oyster mushrooms from a fabulous mushroom man. There are a great variety of booths and you can get many hot items too, so it would just be a great place to stop by for a good snack or dinner. The piece de resistance? Upon walking up to Oakridge's Finest booth, I saw pumpkin pie! We locked eyes and the man said, "My wife baked these this morning and these are my last two pies". SOLD. sold. sold. My friend picked up the second last one. He held onto them for us while we continued our shopping. And that, my friends, is why farmer's markets are the best.
