After years of hearing ViaScan's advertisements on WBAP, and now that I am in my senior years, a scan sounded like a very good idea. When you get to be my age, one never knows what might be lurking under the hood, even if there are no symptoms present. I had my scan in early June, and the whole experience was professional from start to finish. While I was mainly curious as to what the scan might reveal with my heart and lungs, the scan did what appeared to be a large, unexplained growth on one of my kidneys. There had been no symptoms to speak of, so this came a quite a surprise. Dr. Duncan recommended that I immediately schedule an appointment with my physician to investigate further. It turned out that the growth was renal cancer, stage 3, which, if left unchecked, could have had disasterous consequences. The surgery to remove the affected kidney took place two weeks ago, and I am now on the road to a full recovery, as there is no evidence that any of the cancer has spread. My husband and I just had our 2nd body/heart scan. My husband has also had 2 additional heart scans since 2009 when we first visited Via Scan and John Duncan. His heart scan in the fall of 2015 probably saved him from a silent massive heart attack. He had a triple by pass in 2016, although the insurance required stress tests (two different kinds) he passed with flying colors! He then had another test that showed blockages of 80% and the surgery was finally approved. Had we not gone to Via Scan I feel certain he would not be here today, as he had NO symptoms! I love being able to have the body scan that looks through all organs, to either find something early, or have peace of mind. John Duncan is a great guy, super knowledgable and very patient with questions. MY wife, sister & I began getting scans (every 3 years) back around 2009. I have always had excellent heath but thought this would be an excellent preventive measure. I have never had drinking problems or smoked. This year they found a plaque buildup on some of my arteries along with a mass in one of my lungs. The Fire Department I work for sends us to Via-Scan every few years as part of our health and wellness plan.This is my third time to go for a scan. I truly believe it is worth the time and money to have this done. I personally know of 4 guys that have caught early stage cancer and 1 that caught blockage in an artery. All 5 guys had treatment and are back on full duty at their respective fire departments. We have been several times in the last 10 years (we go every 2 years) and they are able to tell us percentages of blockage in our heart arteries and anything else that exists in our pancreas, liver, spleen lungs, sinuses, etc. My husband had a heart attack a year after our 2nd screening and the blockages were exactly where he was told they were. He had stents put in and now is able to see how well his heart is with the stents in place. We highly recommend using ViaScan as we do for early detection. read more
