I was seated on the covered outdoor patio, so it was a comfortable temperature. I was served bread and butter pretty fast, which I demolished because bread is good. I ordered the Calamari and a Caesar salad, which came out pretty quickly. The calamari was amazing; it had just the right amount of frying time and a pretty good sauce. After I ate the amazing salad, which had romaine lettuce, parmesan, and croutons. The salad was also pretty good, and I ate it pretty fast. I went with my mom, so she gave me some of her mussels, which were delicious. The waiter saw that I demolished the bread, so he gave me more. Did I say the bread was good yet cause it was GOOD. Overall, my experience at Vittoria Trattoria was amazing and if Im ever in the area again I'd go back.

Service is solid but the food doesn't come close to an Italian restaurant in Italy, or New York or San Francisco or even Boston. Calamari was good but came with cocktail sauce in stead of marinara. Odd choice. Salad was solid as was the pesto pasta. But the chicken parm was way to thick, gloppy and not that great. Looking around the restaurant, I saw other gloppy looking food. In any case, this seems like a restaurant it is better to stick with the pasta (a word also pronunced differently in Canada, lol.)

They change their menu weekly, every Sunday, which includes long pasta, short pasta, filled pasta, sauces, focaccia, and a meal kit with a mix of everything. This week's menu included: - Long pasta: Tagliatelle or pappardelle - Short pasta: Cavatelli or fusilli - Filled pasta: Scarpinocc di Taleggio e fungi (Taleggio cheese and mushroom) or tortellini quattro fromaggio (four cheese) - Sauces: Pomodoro (tomato based), Cornish hen ragu (tomato based), seasonal mushroom (cream based), Genovese pistachio pesto, or herb butter - Focaccia: Large or small - Tutti tipi di pasta: Kit including pappardelle, fusilli, scarpinocc, tortellini, seasonal mushroom sauce, Cornish hen rage, Genovese pistachio pesto, herb butter, and large focaccia The long and short pastas are 150 grams per portion and $7 each, the scarpinocc and tortelloni come in a pack of 12 and are $15 each, and each order of sauce is for two portions, varying prices between $5 and $15. The small focaccia is $5 and the large is $12. They take orders Sunday to Wednesday for Thursday to Saturday delivery or pickup. Pickup is free in Barrhaven after 3pm and delivery is $5 within a 10km radius from 3-5pm. They also advised that the fresh pasta is best enjoyed the day of order or the next day, and the filled pasta comes freshly frozen and can be kept up to two months in freezer. I have a real soft spot for fresh pasta, so knowing it was homemade locally and two types of pastas I had never tried before, and just being gluttonous and greedy ol' me, I ordered tagliatelle, cavatelli, scarpinocc, and tortelloni pastas, pomodoro, mushroom, pesto, and herb butter sauces, and a small focaccia. I basically customized my own kit and it came out to $89, a dollar cheaper than the tutti tipi di pasta one they had already put together. It was all just for me, not gonna lie. I ordered earlier in the week through a private message on their Instagram and they responded right away. They asked if I had any allergies, what my phone number was, and gave me the total price and e-mail address to send the e-transfer. I originally thought I would have it delivered since the charge was so cheap, but they sent me the address and I ended up picking it up instead. I picked it up and it came in two paper bags (with sweet thank you messages!), one for the cardboard boxes of pasta and the other for the plastic containers of sauces and the bread. There was also a little message on one of the bags to just put the pasta in the freezer and cook from frozen. It was super quick to pick up and I was really excited to get home. It was hard to decide which pasta to each for dinner tonight with which sauce, but I ended up going with the four cheese tortelloni and pesto. They also come with an instruction sheet on how to cook the pasta and incorporate the sauces, which I found very helpful. The tortelloni were made perfectly, just a little tangy, and not overly stuffed or heavy, perfect portion. The pistachio pesto was a touch bitter, also perfect and I licked the spoon multiple times before even mixing it with the pasta. I decided to try the focaccia just on its own and it was soft and moist with some salt. I warmed it up slightly in the toaster oven and used some of the herbed butter (which came in a huge, very generous portion). It was all exactly what I wanted, exactly what I expected, and so incredibly satisfying. Can't wait to try the other pastas and sauces (and finish all the focaccia)!

The crust was fabulous. It is a limited menu: beer, wine, non alcoholic drinks, and anti-pasta, pasta, salads and the Pinsa Romana we had, heralded as the new pizza. This is not a place for gluten free eaters! Definitely worth a visit for atmosphere along with a glass of wine and pizza.

That said, the reservation system seems to make things a bit difficult for them. Even though we had a reservation and arrived right on time, we still had to wait for our table. The staff were rushing around trying to get people to pay and clear tables quickly, and we weren't the only ones waiting. Others seemed a bit upset too. The entrance area is very small and also right next to where the kitchen is and staff comes out with the dishes, so it felt a bit chaotic and cramped while waiting. Despite that, once seated, the food and service made up for it. Everything was tasty and well-prepared. I really hope they improve the flow and spacing of reservations, because the staff definitely deserve better support!.
