Even though I own a nice home near Parker in a golf club community, I worked as a nurse 38 years and a massage therapist 20 years in addition to the nursing, they told me I didn't have the funds to take me to the end of my life which is memory care. They are assuming that I will live that long and I would seriously doubt that I will because of the ages of my mother and sister when they died. My sister stayed in Holly Creek years ago and it was a completely different mentality there. My visit felt like they were just interested in my finances. That woman showing me around even said "well your sister had a lot of money!" It is the first time in my life that I felt discrimination for being a single woman, a widow and not rich rich. Of course they want two incomes in one room rather than one. I won't be recommending this place. I wonder what makes it a Christian facility? Someone who lives there said they cut the meals down to one a day in independent care. I wonder if that is true and why they did that. As a nurse I feel cutting nutrition is not the place to cut for the elderly. Oh they can buy food, but that is an extra cost. I'm sure they can take food home but not everybody likes leftovers. The ambience even though externally pretty seemed internally troublesome.

Never the less...we attended a meeting and lunch presented by the D.A.'s office on scams and ID Theft. MY PURSE WAS STOLEN during the seminar!!! The staff helped me look and the lady at front desk send out an email to staff. Nothing! I never received a call back to see if I found my purse of if it was returned. My purse held my life, credit cards, keys to my vehicle, check book, SS Card, and $130.00!!! I would have gladly given the cash to someone trying to return it to me!!! The staff seemed uninterested in helping me. I will never attend another meeting and highly suggest any one attending this "beautifully decorated" retirement facility keep your eye on your purse or wallet and hang on tightly...not a good place to believe they are Christians!! DON'T GO THERE!!!

This review is based on visits and tours made there to check out what they are all about. Michelle is likely your first point of contact since she is, I believe, the Director of "Sales and Marketing" (?). Kara I believe works for her and fills in for Michelle when needed. Both are fabulous, but Michelle really knows her stuff and understands what needs to be done if you are thinking of being part of their community. The place itself is really nice and elegant, with lots of energy and positive activities. Beautiful walking area outside for memory care residents. Trails right outside to walk, are abundant and also very nice as you walk thru the park right there/golf course. Different sized Rooms make up assisted living (AL) --studio, 1 BR, 2 BR. Memory care (MC) only has 2 sizes of studios--385 and 520 sq feet. The views you have contribute to the price as well. They also have Assisted Living with their Essentials support, provides a bridge between AL and MC. Food is pretty nice. Heritage week was being offered where unique foods from other areas around the world were being featured. Service was pretty great. Kind, compassionate when talking to residents. Beautiful set-up with dishes being offered on display as you walk in. Love the front desk team. All super nice and energetic. Very knowledgable and helpful. A nice sized theater for movies. Arts and crafts room. Library space. Outside deck/seats and tables with a very calming and beautiful view. Exercise class in the morning and other activities throughout the day. Live music/happy hour. Super fun all around. If you are looking for a super nice place where your loved one will be well taken care of, and feel safe and happy, this is your place.

From the moment we walked into Cherry Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care (CHAL), we knew it was special. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the staff truly seemed to care about the residents. My aunt moved in about a year ago, and it was a huge adjustment - she had been living independently and had no plans to move. The team at CHAL went above and beyond to help her settle in and feel comfortable in her new home. They were patient, kind, and always took the time to make sure she was doing okay. Now, a year later, she's happy and thriving. She enjoys the staff and the beautiful facility. It's such a relief knowing she's well cared for and surrounded by people who genuinely care about her. We're so grateful to everyone at CHAL for making what started as a stressful transition into such a positive experience. I can't recommend them enough!

After reading many reviews and studying the costs of wind crest and other retirement communities, I…read moredecided upon Wind Crest. I've lived here a little over a year. They deliver everything promised. About 95% of the employees are fantastic. The quality and service of food differs from one restaurant to another but mostly it is very good. I really do get tired of it so I'm on the 20 meals a month plan because I still drive and like outside food along with my own cooking. When I do not feel well I have meals delivered to my apartment and this is very easy to set up. There is a 7$ charge to do so but Door Dash would be much more expensive I belong to many activities and have made many friends. We are not allowed to tip any employees so once a year there is a donor campaign for them. I am very safe walking my dog anytime day or night. Wind Crest emergency responders are very quick to go to our living quarters. My children take comfort that our doors are checked every morning by security. If our latches aren't opened by a certain time they will enter to see if we've fallen or need other assistance. What I like about living in the independent community is that there is not a Gestapo feeling. We are free to do almost anything we like. Maintenance has responded in a timely manner. I've visited the assisted living and memory units which are beautiful. I've heard complaints that they are sometimes filled and residents must go elsewhere for care. I've heard the staff is unable to deal with certain types of dementia. I pray I never end up there. I think this is a nation wide problem for elders needing special care. Not just at Wind Crest. Is Erickson making big bucks. I would assume so. Do we have annual increases in rent and ancillary services. Yes. But then again, one would have increases in their privately owned homes. I will likely run out of money and die broke if I keep living such a long life but hopefully wind crest will care for me until the end. If they don't then I will write a bad review when I'm reincarnated. Bottom line you are either going to pay a very large up front fee for senior living. Or you will pay a very high monthly fee. We have fun outdoor concerts in the summer. Do I ever feel like leaving? Yes I do. I believe this is normal when we get so old. We want our youth and our previous lives back, but my kids say I'm very blessed to live here because many cannot afford to do so. All in all, I would say this is one of the best retirement communities in the country. It just sux to get old because monies I thought I could leave to my kids will be needed to care for me plus possibly more from my kids due to a promissory note they signed to Wind Crest. My apartment is a one bedroom 1.5 bath. No balcony. Lovely large windows. Large kitchen. Tall ceilings and very beautiful. I hope my honest evaluation will assist others in their decision. I like it here very very much. It just costs a lot! Every good clean modern retirement community costs a lot!

Zero stars: This review is specific to the rehabilitation center - Windcrest at Regent's Point…read more My father (late 60s) was admitted here following double knee replacement surgery, with a known diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis. He stayed for three nights before ultimately needing to be transferred back to the hospital. Unfortunately, the level of care we experienced was deeply concerning. The biggest issue was a lack of urgency and attention to basic medical needs. Despite his pulmonary condition, my father was not provided oxygen upon arrival. We were told it was listed as "as needed," but for someone who requires oxygen regularly, this should have been proactively managed. Relying on a patient in respiratory distress to repeatedly request care is not appropriate. Response times were also a serious problem. My father frequently used the call button for assistance, and it often took 30 minutes or more for anyone to respond. On one visit, he told me he had already been waiting half an hour just to receive ice packs for his knees. I had to find a staff member myself to get help. When I asked about average response times, I was told 10-15 minutes, which did not reflect our experience. I also requested that they check whether his call button was functioning properly, but no one ever followed up. There were multiple instances where essential care depended on a family member being physically present to advocate. For example, when my father needed his inhaler during a breathing episode, staff did not respond to the call button. I again had to go into the hallway to find someone. This pattern made it clear that without constant advocacy, care could be delayed or missed. Beyond my father's care, we observed troubling situations involving other residents. My sister had to assist my father's roommate back to his bed after a staff member left him unattended and he couldn't get his wheelchair across the room. I also saw several elderly residents sitting unattended in wheelchairs in a hallway, with no staff engaging or monitoring them. While the facility did not appear understaffed based on what we observed (plenty of time for them to stand around looking at their phones or chatting with each other), there was a noticeable lack of attentiveness and urgency among staff. Overall, this was not the level of care we expected for a rehabilitation facility. We are actively working to move my father elsewhere. I would strongly encourage families to be very involved and vigilant if a loved one is placed here.

I had a client there several years ago, and I have never been so disgusted by what I saw, experienced, or felt. Maybe things are different now, but back then, it was really bad. What I saw: the residents at that time, were not supervised by staff when I was there, and were literally banging their walkers into each other. As they got more and more agitated, I chose to step in since no one else was around to. The residents were up wandering around at all hours of the night, and seemed to be free to go in each other's rooms; I, myself, witnessed other Brookdale inhabitants in my client's room. Some of her personal items turned up missing, and management couldn't account for either the missing items or intrusions; despite repeated requests, they did nothing about either. What I experienced: 99% of the time when I arrived, the residents were pounding on the locked door and shouting "get me out;" when I opened the door, they would rush me and try to leave. I I would do my best to stop them, but couldn't alone control disorderly dementia invalids who nearly bowled me over as I tried to get to my client. Once again, there was no staff in sight. What I felt: my stomach was in knots and I was constantly worried about my client...about her safety, health and welfare. We chose to move her to a different facility where she thrived. Interestingly enough, a staff member from Brookdale predicted that my client would get "kicked out" of any establishment for her behaviors. Instead, she did better than ever. It goes to show that positive attitudes, patience, understanding and staff members who are there can change anything
