I recently visited this gym and one thing that I adore about it apparent from it being Black, woman owners- is that is is boutique style. Small and initiate!!! Especially during times like these, I honestly would prefer to be alone on a Saturday afternoon to workout. I like that they support other businesses and have business cards laid out at the front desk and there is a barbershop there as well! They are open 24/7, clean equipment so you can zone out by yourself or with a few others whether it's 10am or 2am. That's what I love about it. You also get a key fob to access the gym 24/7 and they have music playing as well. They just ask you cut the lights off when you leave. They have TRX, free weights, cardio machines such as a treadmill and elliptical, weights, free weights and a stretching area! read more

Valencia was my trainer for 2 years. She turned me from a skinny-fat person who was afraid of doing HIIT-style workouts (I would only do yoga/zumba and really didn't know what to do in a gym by myself) to somebody who enjoys working out regularly. Valencia does an awesome job varying the workouts every time so you never know what exactly to expect and don't get bored. She also spends time showing us how to do the exercise and is knowledgeable in where you should be feeling it, what to do to avoid injury, and would answer all the questions we had. I really appreciated the knowledge she had regarding how your muscles work. She taught us a bunch of different types of exercises that I'm now able to do on my own as well. Every week for the two years she managed to make us all very sore because she pushed us to try our best and increased our weights when we improved. At the same time, she is not a yeller or somebody who motivates you by scaring you - I don't enjoy that type of feedback. She is encouraging in a positive way. Even though our small group had people of all different levels, she still was able to have us do team-based exercises that were challenging for all of us. I definitely recommend training with her and Houston is lucky to have her! Valencia, the owner, literally opened the place a couple months before the pandemic hit. Since everything has reopened she has gone out her way to make sure that precautions are taken. She makes sure that that the equipment is clean and that the number of people in the gym is conducive for social distancing. I trained here with Robin. I had paid sessions here in full up front with her. I was looking for someone more to teach me how to use the equipment so that each time I go to the gym I would be more comfortable and familiar. However if you're looking for more of a HIT workout, that is what she is known for. I started working out 2 months ago. I have tried to work out many times in the past but never stuck with it, did two weeks max and gave up. This time around i joined one of Valencia's classes and got hooked. I found a passion for working out. She helped me with the workouts, was patient when explaining proper form and was understanding of my limitations. I have some health issues and on days i wasnt feeling my best she would adjust the workout for me so i could still participate in the class. When i started the class i would have to do weightless lunges and hip thrust, now after 2 months i can do 15lb lunges and 90 lb hip thrusts (huge personal improvement for me).
