I have been a member with Mean Green outdoor Bootcamps for over two years now. I love everything about the program and have seen amazing results! I had a chance to try the indoor Beast Class this past Wednesday and it far exceeded my expectations. Chris and all he other trainers really pushed me to my max. They made sure I was doing the exercises right and where constantly motivating and keeping me going. I am still going to do my outdoor bootcamp class, but I will be working out at least one to two days a week at the indoor facility. I am so exited for Mean Green's new training facility! I have done the manic workout and the beast workout. The manic workout focuses cardio plus weight training using intervals. It's great because you are doing cardio plus building muscle to help you keep burning calories throughout the day! These workouts are always different and keep you on your toes. You will never get bored of coming to this class! The beast workout focuses more on strength training, which is great for building up your strength! One of my favorite workouts had ab roll outs, squats with the bench press bar, trx band abs and arms (these are killers), bosu ball burpees, bike, tricep extensions, and kneel down and stand up with weights. But don't worry, your heart rate gets up during this workout. BUT the best part about Mean Green is the atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and encouraging. Even when you think you can't give another ounce, someone gives you a high five and tells you to keep pushing. I look forward to going to theses workouts. They are the best part of my day. Mean Green Training has been part of my life since 2010. I used to be part of MGT simply to lose weight and get in shape but now MGT is much more to me than two meaningful while at the same time meaningless goals. Losing weight and getting in shape are so important but those two goals mean nothing without friends and family that love and support you. MGT has been that over the past years, a place to not only reach my physical goals but also a place where I have found people with a common goal that support me like family. MGT has grown so much over the past 5 years. It has grown from one location on the Westside of Houston to 12 park locations throughout Greater Houston. MGT has not only dedicated itself to the lives of its members but also to the lives of those in need within its community. So I don't know if anyone knew this little fact....Houston is hot. Houston is hot and humid. Houston is hot, humid, and the mosquitos are so big that they known to pick up fly away with small animals and rodents. Now I have been working out with MGT outside in their park locations and I must say that I have braved the hella Houston weather and elements. I braved the heat and the mosquitos, I have braved the rain and wind, and believe or not I have actually braved rare days of below freezing temperatures. Now if you are a bit crazy like me, braving the elements to workout makes you feel a bit like a badass. But damn it, this is Houston and somedays I want to feel like a complete badass, indoors. So MGT has done us all a favor and granted us that option. In October, 2015 MGT opened the Mean Green Training Center and it is everything I dreamed it to be. The MGT Center is 5,000 sq. ft facility that offers weight lifting with cardio classes, a yoga studio, and even boxing/kickboxing classes.The classes are offered at various times throughout the day and personal training is also offered. The coolest part of the center in the field turf which allows you to do cardio workouts as well as other cool training exercises. The trainers are all amazing people that encourage you throughout the workout while physically pushing you to achieve goals that you never thought possible. The positive group atmosphere that is experienced at all MGT classes will keep you coming back again and again. I will always love MGT and their outdoor bootcamps. Feeling a bit more like a beast because I just completed a challenging workout outside in the elements will never get old. However, Houston is still Houston and I my soul is only so strong. The Mean Green Training Center offers an excellent place to get a great workout and get that same supportive family feel but instead indoors. The Mean Green team is fantastic! Their energy is infectious and they never fail to create a unique workout for each of their sessions. The constant variety is only one reason I am a loyal member. New members and seasoned ones alike are always ushered in with genuine joy and energy; it's difficult to not get caught up in the fun (especially when the coaches all add their sense of humor into their classes). This indoor facility offers some reprieve from the outdoors but still maintains the high-energy fun of the boot camp classes. Since joining Mean Green in April of 2015, I have seen improvements in strength, endurance, and speed. I am in the best shape of my life (I was able to run two 10ks this year!) and have never felt more confident about my body and its abilities. I started a one month trial at Mean Green last month at the south location. My experience there thus far has been nothing but spectacular! The energy from the time you step into the building is unmatched! The trainers are greeting you at the door and pushing you to your maximum limit every day! I have been going to MeanGreen for now almost 6 months. All I can say is WOW! The level of attention to detail that the staff put in every single thing they do is unmatched to any other gym I've been in. The coaches teach you how to do the workout. Check your form. Help you out to achieve your goals. They check in with you to make sure you're well taken care of. Not to mention, they are super cool and fun guys. They make the classes feel less of a workout and more so just having fun. The atmosphere and the music also make it more fun of an environment. I have created good connections and friendships from the group I work out with consistently. We also go outside the gym and do fun activities outdoor. And we always encourage each other. My body has never been in shape until I joined them. It takes time and effort and energy and dedication with what you eat and how you exercise. I moved to the Houston area about a year and a half ago but it wasn't until I began regularly attending the MGT bootcamp class in Hermann Park four months ago that I started feeling like Houston was becoming a home. I won't go too much into depth about how awesome the bootcamp classes are (since this is a review of the training center), but believe me, they're fantastic. I've taken the maniac and beast classes at the training center. The maniac classes are challenging yet very energizing and fast-paced. You're constantly in motion, sweating and being encouraged by the trainers. It's more cardio based than strength based. No matter your level of fitness, you will be challenged. I started regularly taking the beast class (3x a week) three weeks ago. I'm always super pumped to go to these classes because after each work out, I feel accomplished and proud of myself. The classes physically and mentally test you. The trainers will push you because they believe in you. They believe in you when you don't believe in yourself. When you feel like you have nothing left in you, they will drag the fight out of you. By virtue of their personalities and accomplishments, they'll make you want to be better. What's also great about these classes is that the trainers will help you with your form. During the workouts, they engage with each trainee and make sure they're getting the maximum benefits from the workout. Form is such an integral part of physical training, so it's beneficial that the trainers emphasize this. Since taking the bootcamp and training facility classes, my overall strength and endurance has significantly increased. I've learned a lot through the classes (how to target certain muscles, the importance of balanced strength training, form, etc), but I've also become happier with myself. Because of Chris and his team, I've challenged myself and feel more confident in my abilities. The workouts are tough but so much fun.
