Beautiful facility. Never overly crowded. Clean. SO clean. Plenty of parking. Outdoor saltwater lap pool that allows you to RESERVE A LANE. That's huge for a swimmer. Classes are great - the ones I've taken were Yard and Svelte. Almost don't want to leave this review for fear that people may see it and we'll get too crowded. I absolutely LOVE The Preserve! We've been coming here for a few years and recently made the disheartening switch to Lifetime (another great choice!) only because of the lack of childcare. Don't get me wrong, that's not a complaint! It's what makes The Preserve even more amazing, because it feels like a modern California spa, looks like a spa, smells like a spa... and sounds like one, with the lack of noise! Every time I've been here, there are no more than 10 people total, including staff! Which btw, all the staff is super sweet and wonderful. The gym itself is so clean and pristine. The only place in Houston where I actually look forward to my workouts in between my meetings. It's motivating, homey and relaxing, all at the same time. Highlights: NOT corporate! Little crowd, very clean (and not the chemically-inclined), no wait on equipments, highly experienced and holistic trainers/teachers, non-chlorinated and heated outdoor pool, outdoor rig on a turf, and genuinely personable staff. One thing that I really like is the seemingly like-minded crowd. They're typically focused, disciplined, courteous i.e. puts equipment back where it belongs. You rarely see folks on their phones, lacking situational awareness too. It kind of reminds you of the good old gym days! Folks who said it's small has yet to appreciate how nice it is to not need to walk minutes to get from one workout area to another. This is a rare find in Houston. It has a huge range of key equipments for all kinds of workout on the same floor/area! *****Beware of BURGLARY***** I went to visit a friend at what seemed to be a nice gym on a guest pass because I was interested in possibly joining. While at the gym, my vehicle window was smashed in, while parked on the front row of the parking lot in broad daylight. Expensive personal belongings were stolen from me and the gym security footage quality was not good enough to capture the burglars license plates. It's amazing and really feels like you're working out outside, but without the downsides of outdoor workouts!

They have "challenges" for their members to promote and advertise the gym, and the members can win prizes this way. I think one of the requirement is for the member to write a good review of the gym. This is makes the good reviews less trustworthy, in my opinion. It was a good gym, but it has been getting worse now that they have over 700 members. There used to be a small gym feel (where they know your name, you don't have to scan in because they recognize you, and you don't have to wait for equipment), but the Preserve has been going the way of corporate gyms. Not worth it anymore. For example, they have a rule that says, "Don't take up more space than necessary with your personal items." That rule is fair. Today though, they started to enforce that to mean that nobody is allowed to bring a gym bag to their workout. If they want to make a rule about gym bags, fine, but don't just start making things up on the fly and haphazardly enforcing them. Now they have lots of members and don't need to treat us well. I've been a member for a few years, and enjoyed it when it was good, but I'm going to switch. It was good while it lasted, but the gym has been going downhill. read more

This is a beautiful, clean, spa like health club. The building itself, is aesthetically designed and is an oasis in this hustle bustle city. They have state of art equipment. There are plenty of fresh towels and the locker area is spotless. The trainers are excellent ant the staff is friendly and professional. I looked at a couple of gyms before I chose this one. If you want to be able to have a one on one relationship with your coaches and administrative, this is the gym for you. It has clean bathrooms,with amenities like makeup removers, Q-tips, Bobby pins, hair ties, and more. It has a wet sauna, towels are provided, and there are always an open locker for you to put your thing in. I really like being able to walk out of class and prepare myself a cup of tea or coffee, and sit down and enjoy it before starting my day. There are different types of coaches, some focus on specific things and some have a great blend between strength, and diet expertise, so you can chose who you would like to be trained by. There is always space to improve, but over all it is a great gym. read more

The crew here is so nice and friendly. Free coffee. Abundance of snacks and goodies. If I could give them 0 stars I would, yet here we are! I am about living a healthy lifestyle! I found this gym & decided to join. Immediately fell in love with it! This gym turned into an unpleasant experience let's start with some of the staff members it does not matter what you are wearing loose shirt, leggings, bed sheets women are looked at like an "object". It is very uncomfortable and in fact I felt bothered! The way some staff members prey on women when working out it is uncomfortable. Most staff members are very off-putting when it comes to most things. The staff DOES NOT ask for consent prior to touching you... Why is there a need to be touched, to begin with? I brought this issue to the front desk attention at that time & she responded with "we will investigate it, and our manager will give you a call to address this situation" in a very condescending tone No EMAIL, NO PHONE CALL, NOTHING! I understand these are (new adults/kids) in the work field there is no reason why anyone should overhear them talk about their crazy && unleashed weekends, bets on who they choose to engage with or not outside of working hours. That is NOTHING, but your PERSONAL BUSINESS and it should stay PERSONAL/OUTSIDE OF WORKING HOURS. I understand that coworkers and gym members are bound to mess around with each other outside of working hours happens in about every work setting, but it is extremely degrading to hear about their personal, and untamed activities that took place over the weekend, and more uncomfortable when it is being discussed out in the open!! We shouldn't be able to hear these types of conversations as it is unprofessional. For these & many other reasons I will not be returning to this gym. Good day! NMR read more

I don't know if I could ever go back to a regular gym. The Preserve is the best gym hands down in Houston. It might be small compared to the other gyms but it has everything and I never have to wait for machines or weights. This nature-inspired fitness club is a breath of fresh air compared to many gym experiences of the past. The Preserve has created an oasis of fitness with stunning architecture, quality amenities, and professional staff. It has a resort spa/fitness facility feel to it. They offer a variety of challenging small-group classes led by a fantastic collective of trainers. The class times are diverse and start on-time. The overall experience of the club is very intimate and many of the staff and members are on a first-name basis. The staff is very professional and do their best to keep everything in tip-top shape. It's rarely crowded and they also have a tranquil outdoor space where you are welcome to take some equipment outside or just grab some tea or coffee and take a breather at the garden tables. I also enjoy the outdoor saltwater pool which is heated. As the temperature drops outdoors, the pool gets reasonably comfortable for a swim. I love that there is an alternate entry to the locker rooms for quick pool access, that is very convenient. Outside of working out, the locker room is another wonderful space. A toasty steam room, oversized showers, and plenty of towels make it the perfect space to rejuvenate yourself. There is so much to love about this place and I think you will have to come experience it to see what resonates with you the most. I needed to purchase some snacks. I glanced around, asked the two front desk people if they had other things to purchase. They said they also had drinks, in addition to what was displayed in the front. The girl drilled me, asked me who I was because I didn't look familiar. I advised I didn't have a membership so she told me she could take me on a tour. I politely declined. The other cashier was frantic and went upstairs. I asked to check out and the girl said "the guy is the only one who can use the cash register and he went upstairs to check on something". Basically, she lied to me. She was all around one of the rudest people I've encountered in hospitality. I would NEVER return to this establishment and I've written up a report on the entire 5 minute experience. Security in contained parking lot. My only negatives are the locker room and sauna is a little tight and I wish they had a few more "hammer strength" plated equipment options i.e. belt squat, glut swing, hack squat, curl stand, straight bar set and dumbells between 110 to 150lb for heavy lifters. I love this place! A smaller, full service gym with a member cap so it never feels crowded and the staff all gets to know you quickly. Even other members are super welcoming and friendly. They have lots of different classes too so if you're a fan of anything from orange theory type workouts to spin class to yoga, you'll find many classes you love! Lovely surroundings, great instructors, nice people! The gym has the best equipment and everything is very clean! My only advice is to make sure you get all terms in writing. There have been two instances where we were given information as an incentive to sign up for something, then later told "that's not our policy." Management did work with us to resolve these issues, but it was irritating and time consuming to have to deal with them. That aside, the Preserve is a wonderful, peaceful oasis. read more
