I am surprised to read the comment about Chad being rude and that someone overheard the staff gossiping.

I'd describe Barry's as a boutique fitness studio that offers a great workout with energetic and motivating instructors with fun curated playlists. Barry's follows a cadence for muscle group focus that I appreciate. There is also a fuel bar that serves nutritious and yummy smoothies. I find Barry's a fun way to get in movement and adds to my workout routine.

Riti was our instructor for RUN X FULL BODY & she kept the upbeat vibes the entire time! It was honestly impressive & equally shocking how amazing her classroom management was haha but she kept us motivated for the whole 50 minutes. There were various sets where half the class was on the treadmill and the other half on the floor. The treadmillers were jogging, sprinting, & everything in between. The floor people were doing a lot of squats, bodyweight & weight lifting exercises. Then every few minutes the people on the treadmill would switch to the floor and vice versa. You really have to listen carefully and pay attention while the instructor is moving around shouting out what you're supposed to do. Parking is in a lot or on the street, both requires payment. There are lockers to store your belongings as well as showers in the bathrooms. They provide towels at eac station for the class as well. You be assigned a number for the treadmill & the floor section. This is definitely not meant for someone who gets overstimulated easily but if you like chaotic exercise classes, I highly recommend. Try it out at least once, you won't regret it!

Since I mapped it out beforehand, I knew where to park and how to get to the gym. This was a fairly large shopping area, but EQX was right there, and the desk is there in front once you enter. There was a really nice girl this day with long braids, and she directed me upstairs to the locker room and informed me that parking validation was not necessary at this time; the gate just went up as you pulled up to it. Perfect! After going upstairs, I did wander around and then a trainer directed me over to the locker room, which was spacious and very clean. The fitness floor is on the second, and as soon as I found the treadmills, I knew where I belonged. Light movement in the stretching area after, and then back to a shower with decent water pressure. What I was fascinated with was how friendly staff was. Trainers actually smiled and said goodbye which you won't normally see in California or New York. I certainly wasn't at home! Compared to other locations, this one was very low-key, although I admit I came during the afternoon where it was probably quieter. I had forgotten this is the location that I was in contact with back in 2020 when I had ordered some masks from their shop since they were actually open. I had such a good experience that the trip here to see them in person was worth it!

The gym equipment is a bit outdated though. I do like the fact that they offer cold towels post-workout to cool off. For the Spa treatment, I got the Hydrafacial 50 Min - Deluxe. For a first timer, you can also receive a 25% discount as well. Kristen was my esthetician and she was truly the best! You could tell that she was very experienced. She was very knowledgeable about all of the products and the facial itself was very relaxing. Really enjoyed the lymphatic drainage the most, she had my face looking snatched and jawline on point and skin truly glowing. 100% recommend booking her for a facial! Then I discovered The Edge here on Yelp and I love it! The classes are small and focused. Some days are cardio based, other days are weight based, so you're always getting a balanced workout. Tim is a fantastic instructor. He gives due attention. Teaches proper form. He's also methodical about which stretching we do, knowing most people have jobs sitting most of the day. The workouts never get boring! Tim also teaches different Martial Arts classes (Mousel's), as well as Women's Self Defense. Whether you want to lose weight or have more strength or just be fit, there is so much variety offered here to help achieve your personal goals!

The best thing about Tim's classes is that he pushes you to do your best, but never so hard that you'll never want to go back. I really look forward to attending every time. Participants in the classes range from people just starting their fitness journey to those that attend 6 days a week. It doesn't matter what level you're at, it's never intimidating. Everyone there is very encouraging, which makes for a very fun experience. A typical day in the class is running the stairs outside for about 10-15 minutes, then strength training exercises for 20 minutes, then abs and stretching for the last 10-15 minutes. One of the things that Tim does well is mixing up the exercises so that we're not doing the same things over and over again. Also, he incorporates some martial arts and crossfit type exercises which adds some fun to it. I can't say enough good things about Tim's classes. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. You won't regret it. Edit: Don't be intimidated by all the pictures of the girls in the classes. There's a good amount of guys that attend the classes as well!
