I've recently move back into town and something I was looking forward to was to signing back up for Life Time. Obviously the monthly fee isn't cheap but it usually comes with the territory if you sign back for membership. Working out or spending time here is more of a lifestyle and the amenities it has to offer. There's always trade-offs and membership cancellation in pretty much anywhere you go can be an issue or challenge, but I find all things this place has to offer out-weigh any potential downside. With all that said I think its worth the money to be a member here. And I particularly enjoy hanging out at the pool on those lazy days. read more

I just got in from Maryland and was looking for a good gym to go to. I ended up at the Lifetime Tennis at the Galleria Mall, and they sent me over here--it was only a 6-7 minute drive. I came in as a guest and Cameron helped me get signed up. She showed amazing hospitality and made the whole process easy. If you're ever in the Houston area, definitely come to this Lifetime. The staff such as the manager in the women's locker room is just rude and inexperienced and seems to be most concerned with impressing her boss instead of making an enjoyable experience for the member. This is a medium level gym with a $200 to $300 a month membership cost. At that price point, one would expect the staff to have the appropriate level of experience and have a reasonable level of natural people skills. The fact the employees may be inexperienced / young / niave is certainly not justification for the customer / member to have any bad experience. It only reveals that management has made bad hiring decisions and has neglected to train the staff. Overall, the facilities and equipment are good and the place is clean. The diamond membership here allows you to go all lifetime locations nationwide, however, I am a fan of this location. It's very spacious with modern interiors. Plenty of garage parking, you can just connect your ez tag for the gate. As a member, you can bring two guests each month. During the summer, the rooftop pool deck is a great place to relax for a nice tan. It has a leisure and lap pool surrounded by cabanas and lounge chairs. Full staff working the outdoor pool area. Easy to order food and drinks from the lifetime cafe. This location has a variety of features from saunas, spa, fitness classes, weight machines, childcare, etc. Locker room is relatively clean for most of the time. Towels are stocked up with many other amenities. Work out area is spacious. Would like to see some more classes on the weekends though. Overall, this location is pretty convenient. read more

I absolutely love it, the equipment is amazing, there's plenty of space, and some really, really hot people work out here (especially by the pool) which suggests that if you want to look really hot, you should probably join this place. Anyway, 3 times I came here for a tour. The first two times, I was completely ignored. One of those two times, they put me in a waiting room for about 20 mins and still nothing. During this time they were chatting about everything in the world except work and playing on their phones. At this price, I expected a lot more and it put me right off. That no one uses for exercise... and the DJ on Saturdays. Is this a club or a gym? Nothing makes me more excited to workout, then spending 45 minutes to get there, only to find the garage's gate is broken... waited 30 minutes to get in... Mind you, I actually read directions and connected my EZ Tag right when I became a member... But now...I get to carry an annoying piece of paper to the desk and get a validation ticket... love it. Here's some ideas: Stop paying DJ's... Fix 1, maybe 2, I dunno, 3 treadmills out of the 14 that are not functional from heel runners who don't understand the difference between a street and a treadmill. 14. Has been brought up to the GM...in March...nothing has changed. The Wifi? For real...a 2.8kpbs dial-up is faster. How is it that you are killing people monthly for 300-350 a month, and you can't install a WiFi that works? Even crazier...a private WiFi network that only members use... That might be way way way too high tech for y'all. It's so interesting y'all don't have a contact e-mail on your website... kind of gives off a queue that you're scared of people writing about how awful your locations are. Your e-mails with surveys? And use the basketball court...no weights... no cardio... they come they hoop, they break stuff...they head to the pool...then leave, to get into their Audi A4 parked right up front in the 6 handicap spots because he has a sticker, and isn't handicapped. A security guard would be totally out of mind and out of hand...instead of, I don't know, paying a DJ on Saturdays... It's a shame I have to write this...it nearly feels like hubris saying this about the gym with some of the best employees I've met in my life... But for real...I get wanting revenue...I understand the model... Unfortunately, customers and clients mean more than money in business. This isn't a pay equity world with Megan Rapinoe as the spokeswoman... This is a gym that's turned into a club, and is just a place people work out at mondays and tuesdays before they just show up with a drink in their hand as they get out of their Volvo with 12 kids... Open a club, and just close that place... cause you're doing no one any favors. Age limit allowing high-school and college kids to continue to use their parents' membership past age 21. Fertitta's youngest kid can work out there on his parents membership... And I get to pay money to have a guest... 3-4 stars. I personally feel like other "luxury" gyms like Equinox are more worth it (amenities, classes), however, chose Life Time because of the childcare. Childcare- really amazing. They have an area for infants, toddlers/older kids. Lots of classes for older kids. Parents night out babysitting option. Summer camps. Otherwise the equipment and classes are a-okay. I think they did their best with the space, just not quite understanding some design choices: the huge lounge/work area and then the super tight locker room set up. The yoga room floor is on top of the cycling room- will sometimes vibrate from the bass. Great pool area. They do provide floaties. Food- lots of smoothie options and "healthier" food. Our go to dish is the chicken quesadillas. We ended up cancelling our membership due to the pandemic, but if we were less risk adverse, probably would've continued the membership for childcare alone. read more

Pretty disappointed now that I've visited other lifetime facilities, including out of state facilities. No indoor pool. Hot tub never works. No coed hot tub. No outdoor hottub. Boring color scheme and the work out floor is just not comfortable, machines are just randomly placed, warm up area is small and always busy. Staff is not friendly and if you need assistance they never know anything. I am personally thinking about downgrading, I prefer Cypress or Baybrook to Greenway. This diamond level club is lacking a lot of basic lifetime amenities. I don't personally care much about the work space, but I guess they think having that makes up for the lack of everything else!!? Terrible staffs with weird policy. Just want to register for my nephews to get in there for swimming class, but their rules require must have one adult account in there to sign up for kids,ok that's fine, I open my account myself and pay for my account $150 /month, and my twoo nephews over $30 /month just for membership, every month I have to paid total $218 / month for the membership (I'm not in there often, just open account because of their rules require,and just let my nephew's parents using account to bring them there only in every Saturday for swimming class,because we all don't have time ,just hot time in Saturday a little bit (swimming class fee is different, not included with membership)When I sign up, I ask the former staffs and manager can my nephew's parents using my acc to bring them there for swimming class or not,and they said absolutely ok because I'm not coming but my nephew's parents are,and they just bring their kids come for the class on Saturday only for one hour, they're not practice anything in there...everythings still good for a year,untill they change new staffs with new manager, these new start gave us a trouble, they not allow my brother using my membership to bring his kids enter to learning swimming,every single time my brother bring his kids to the class, the new front dest staffs always stop my brother, they make a phone call to the swimming class instructors to confirm, and it's make my nephews get late to their class 5-10 mins ,but not just that,they open camera to check to see does my brother practice anything inside of their gyms, they do like my brother is a thelf?? I've been a Life Time member since 2017 and I'm a frequent gym goer. My experience started out ok but has changed for the worse. I've had several negative experiences with one particular person at the front desk who is extremely unprofessional. I also had another rude encounter with the front desk as the person went out of his way to not make eye contact or speak and scrolled through his phone for at least 15 seconds. The only reason I wasn't surprised is because of all of the other unprofessionalism that goes unchecked. I spoke to the concierge manager about my experience, and she was initially understanding. However, when I showed up to talk to her about another experience she began to defend the inappropriate actions of her staff. I took off from work in the middle of the day to speak to her. To me, that was not ok. She did not seem concerned about my experience and was dismissive. It was clear that she did not really care. She even seemed as though whatever happened, I deserved it. I was not treated like a valued customer. I also pointed out to her how staff at the front desk is much friendlier in the morning but at night some people can be quite rude. She said that "things are more relaxed in the morning". I do not think that is a good excuse for poor treatment. I'm disappointed. I typically have good experiences with Lifetime. At this price point and with the Life Time brand, I expect much better treatment as well as a safe place to talk about problems. And if you are telling me the people I currently run in to on the workout floor are paying the full fee for their membership or that they have a membership at all, I'll laugh. Don't make me laugh. So who are these messy, disrespectful, loud people and why are they in this gym that's supposed to be elite and exclusive? And who are those way too young folks who show up after 9:30 and use the workout floor as general texting area? Just some things to think about .... Everything else I said on previous reviews stands. I'm not a memeber of Lifetime but wanted to go check out the cycling coach Ethan. I signed up for a one day pass with a friend. Cycling was Absolutely Amazing, Ethan is an extremely popular cycle instructor in the city so once again we were super excited and Ethan didn't disappoint. After cycling we walked around the gym and tried to figure out the place ourselves. Its a large gym located right behind Lakewood Church. The gym wasnt too crowded on that Sunday morning and looked very clean. I used the Sauna afterwards for abt 30 minutes, very clean there as well. My only l downfall was that I was asked at the front desk if I would like more info on the gym when I signed in, and I stated YES. I've yet to received a call for pricing or for an official tour. I called there twice since and there's no answer. So, I decided to go with another gym. In response to Taylor: To be clear, I never spoke with Ethan regarding a membership, I spoke with the front desk. I'm not sure how it would be considered "Pressure Sales" if I verbally asked front desk for more info as well as filling out paperwork stating I would like more info. I noticed you mentioned "pressure sales" in other responses instead of taking accountability for a staff that doesnt follow up. read more

This place is has great potential!. One thing though - I will say is there are lots of scholars as well as joggers at this location, and it didn't used to be this crowded. You will often hear these scholars and joggers talk on speakerphone about weekend romances and passive income, especially in the locker room which can be unpleasant as well as lead to a bit of riff raff on the gym floor. I've been a member at the onyx location for years 10+. I transfered to the diamond Greenway plaza. Gym has a lot of amenities. It's cleaner than some other chains, yet dirtier than top of the line gyms, locker room is always wet, crowded, and always packed, not enough lockers. Staff and administration is terrible. Can't describe politely how much they don't care about their members. Read the other reviews, the customer service is seriously lacking here! Workout floor.. they will blast "alpha" music on dj speakers. It's so loud it overpowers noise canceling headphones, maybe mine suck, but it's still ridiculous to have gym music then 2 classes going on on the floor while blasting another speaker w different music. Seriously annoying. You can hear it from anywhere on the floor. I migrated to this gym when they promised certain amenities i.e. office space. Be careful they will change the rules on you. It's happened to a lot of members here, feel free to ask any. 1 year in and they changed the rules and want an additional $50 fee for office space. Switching to one of the other high-end gyms in the area who actually care about their members. Not recommended, they need a management overhaul. Customer service is non-existent here, rude, its beyond terrible!! I think I've hit that note enough. read more

I love this location as a "health club" because the 2 outdoor pools and amenities are wonderful. There's nothing like getting work done on your laptop by the pool while ordering cocktails to your cabana. The cafe is great for quick healthy food and the bar has amazing drinks that are all $12. Sophie at the bar gives amazing service, making great recommendations and the tastiest drinks ever. The locker room amenities are lovely too, I love a good hour cycling in and out of the steam room in utter relaxation. But as a gym it does kind of fall short in some areas. They have enough space to have enough workout equipment for everyone but it's not utilized properly. Two huge basketball courts take up a third of the space and they're rarely used. The cardio and free weight areas take over so much so that weight machines are treated as an after thought. There's one single leg press machine in this huge gym. That's a very popular machine and if I come at the peak hours I have to just accept that I may never get the chance to use the most popular machines because they will be taken the whole time I'm there. This place gets very busy at peak times, so if I'm planning on doing a serious workout, I'll either go to the downtown location or come at a different time. The free daily classes are a great benefit to the membership, you can choose from a wide variety of fitness classes for any skill level all throughout the day/week. read more

Pluses -big gym -outdoor lap pool and kids pool and ample seating outside -quiet work area -great yoga classes -great cardio machines and rowers and air bikes -Café -large lockers and towels to use -nice spa and very comfortable massage tables Areas to improve -music loud and distracting and not anything popular -Wish they would turn it down or off. I can hear the music from the gym area when I'm in yoga class! Most people are trying to listen to their own music. -wish they had earlier and later classes- limited classes at 0530am and many are paid classes. How about early yoga classes?? Wish they had something @500-515am yoga. If I overlook the culture at this location, this gym is the most beautiful I've ever been to. Great extras such as a huge study room, cafe, bar, two Olympic style pools, a place for kids to be while you workout, and great selection of equipment. My sister and I visited this gym to see if we wanted to join. The first people we encountered were two men that were dressed like luxury car salesmen. Very nice touch. I, on the other hand, was dressed very down because I don't typically wear makeup and very tight, revealing clothing to the gym and I am very overweight/obese. My sister is very in shape but also didn't have on makeup. We are also phenotypically categorized as so called "African-American"(Indigenous). We specifically asked one of the nicely dressed gentlemen, Robert, for a tour and he basically told us, "Oh, hi. You want to get a quick workout in? Sign this waiver and walk around." The interaction with him felt very rushed like he wanted us to just get out of his face. No tour was offered after we asked him. Later on however, I see him giving a tour to a more attractive, in shape woman, and I just found it strange that maybe he just assumed we either wouldn't fit into the culture at this gym or couldn't afford it, so why waste time giving these women who possibly look like "the help" a tour. Lol. That made me feel weird. Also- on the culture (for women): if you're not already in shape, wear make up to workout with designer Lululemon type outfits + possibly have gotten a BBL already, you may not feel comfortable here. On the BRIGHT side, we ran into a wonderful employee there named Desiree as my sister and I were blindly giving ourselves our own tour, and she took us under her wing. Super nice, beautiful , dressed well, perfect makeup -- and very detailed in her explanation of the amenities which pretty much had me kinda sold, as joining this gym could help me avoid buying an entire office space due to their study rooms and individual private business rooms. So, basically if this gym felt more inclusive to me, I would have gladly joined but there is a vibe that the culture here is not really my speed. I currently workout at LA Fitness in the Heights on Yale St. That place feels like home. Maybe in the future I will check this place out again but I felt a strong urge to share this experience as feedback for their staff (not all) on how they shouldn't treat people based on what society has programmed them to think about certain kinds. I just got an email stating Lifetime will be raising my membership dues again. They actually had the nerve to say that the founding membership rate is still $30 less than the rate for new members. I am a founding member and can tell you this place has gone down hill. I pay for a gym membership and in exchange for my hard earned dollars I get to listen to members on their phones CONSTANTLY. Also, Lifetime conducts all these classes (Alpha strength, GTX) on the gym floor and literally blasts music so loud you cannot hear your own music via noise cancelling headphones. The trainers take up what little room is left after Lifetime crowds members out that are not taking their PAID classes. In the locker rooms, saunas and whirlpools more members talking on their phones. Forget trying to relax. The only reason I stay at this gym is the business hours and the location, which is convenient to where I live so I don't have to spend too much time commuting. With this latest increase in fees, I am definitely going to be looking at my options. I wish Equinox would build another location outside of the congested Galleria area, like downtown or near the med center. I would quit Lifetime in a heartbeat to switch. There is the Preserve in the Greenway area but their business hours are limited. read more

I've been a member at this location for a little over a year. The gym is a very nice gym and well maintained. I love that the management teams are listening to the things that the members want in the gym. (Looking forward to the new things posted that are coming in 2022) The hours were initially my complaint and now the gym is open 20 hours a day. The information staff have my name memorized and I think it is a nice touch and makes this gym feel like home. I've tried the salon services and I've always been pleased with my manicures and pedicures. The eatery is hit or miss.. I've gotten really good food and sometimes I'd get food that I couldn't consume. This is something that the location should look into. After a nice workout I'm ready to grub on something tasty and healthy and this location misses the mark sometimes. The equipment is really new and I love the integration with the apple watches. The fitness+ membership is a plus as well. The classes are top notch and I love that every instructor seems to enjoy their workplace on and off social media. This location is constantly adding new classes and spin offs of retired classes. The introductory classes were recently added and this is a nice offering for any experience level. This gym is a melting pot of people with different fitness/health goals but all are coming to the gym to get work done. Even during power hours you don't see people standing around on their phones or hogging machine for extended periods of time. The atmosphere and people attending also motivate me to keep going. I opted to do a self tour and learned the ropes on my own. This was intimidating in the beginning but I love this place and can stay for hours. So the parking was so full today and the gym crowded . I heard this is from the medical insurance discounts so the ~$300 a month gym became very discounted and it is left with waits for machines, parking , not enough lockers . It's nice but who wants to pay for a premium price that is affordable on insurance - so many people that it packs the place and brings down the value . for something more exclusive. This isn't a place for families with this kind of crowd . It's unwelcoming for moms and families . The staff is very nice the building is nice . Daycare looks good . Cleanliness is why I pay extra to come to lifetime and obviously the machines and classes but to see this early in the am at the most expensive club in houston was not a good thing( sadly more than one stall looked this way) When I go to city center or GreenStreet their locker rooms and restrooms are spotless would give 5 stars but sanitation is just as important! In addition to the sanitation issue I took a spin class the handles bars were loose and some bikes even made noise it took away from the ride. The instructor is much nicer than myself allowing ppl to be on their phones mid ride and and listening to headphones which is incredibly rude and distasteful as far as etiquette . To sum it up if you want to WORKOUT and not come to a meat market or meet someone off tinder in a dirty gym for an outrageous price go to CITY CENTER or GREENSTREET a whole 360 ppl respect the instructors and other gym goers and it's clean sorry lifetime but I'm disappointed this location used to be prime real estate now it foreclosing. read more

Gym is very nice, along with wonderful staff that do an excellent job in keeping it well maintained and very clean. The only issue here is some of the crowd you have to deal with and the uncivilized behavior including taking two parking spaces, speeding in the narrow garage, loud obnoxious mumble rap, hogging weight machines while texting or making social media stories, etc. A lot of so called club promoters/entertainers, cryptocurrency gurus, life coaches types feel extra entitled here. One of the pool party I went to last summer was disgusting, where there were hood rats "twerking" with children around and the DJ was playing a very violent mumble rap song about shooting and killing their rivals. Not something you would expect from an "upscale" gym, but I've learned that in Houston anything is possible. read more

Love this gym. Staff are incredibly sweet & helpful. Small group trainers such as Mary & Jose truly care about your fitness journey & want to help. Cafe has GREAT food & staff who make it a point to get to know you. Locker rooms are very clean & have supplies such as q-tips, hair dryers, spray deodorant, lotion, hairspray, etc. Steam room is wonderful & really feels great after a nice workout. They have a million classes to take at all different times, most of which are included at no extra cost to your membership. We are very happy & feel fortunate to be able to be members at this club. Another gym with hidden polices. Not to mention that during early morning classes like 6AM or 7AM, no professor will be there. It a gym, not a apartment complex. They will hide from you how long before you can freeze your account. They will try to charge you and responsabilize you for their lack of professionalism on that matter when you actually repeatedly asked. Also, if life changes for you and you can't come back to the city, in order to cancel you have to pay for their mistake or keep accumulating bills.
