Best gym on the East Side!!…read more I started coming to Facet Seven Eado to get in the best Bride-To-Be/ Wedding shape I could, and it happened thanks to Mikel!! I highly recommend booking with him if you're in the market for a personal trainer! Not only will he help you reach your goals, but he's also very informative with why you're doing certain exercises (which is very helpful as someone who has no clue!) I do have to say, having a personal trainer really made my experience at Facet Seven Eado! I love that you can view all the trainer profiles online and book with them, making the whole process more approachable. The gym itself seems to have everything you would need - from machines to free weights to classes. Parking: They have some handicap parking and a few open spaces in front of the gym. That being said, I almost always had to park on the side street. Accessibility: In addition to the handicap parking - They do have a ramp for accessibility to the entrance as well, but otherwise get ready for a pre-workout warm up hiking up the stairs to the front entrance! They also have a large shower stall (at least in the women's locker room) for accessibility needs. Staff: The staff (especially the trainers) are beyond welcoming. For some reason the people at the front desk aren't so much. During my time here, I rarely got welcomed which does make it a bit awkward if you're not so comfortable in the gym. Also, they have a scanner to checkin on your app but that worked less than 50% of the time for me, leading to more awkward moments with the front desk. Space: The space is very open, allowing for a lot of different areas. During my time here, they did move some of the weights around, which made for a bit of a choke point/crowded area for the weight machines near the rowers. Personally this was a turn-off for me. Also, being a warehouse, it gets warm. There is AC but during the summer months it doesn't cool too effectively - which I guess helps you sweat and maybe is a good thing (but for me wasn't the best). Overall, I'd definitely return here if I needed a PT to help reach another goal. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a new gym in general !

Just a few others were in the gym and I was able to get a great workout in. It was a small fee to get a day pass. They have an abundance of cardio equipment (treadmills, stair masters, rowing machines, a Jacobs ladder) and even had ropes and a climbing rope. They had tons of free weights in two areas, the regular area and the "dungeon" as well as every machine you can think of. They have a great outdoor area with tires and ropes for cardio also. The atmosphere was great and everyone from the front desk manager to the other gym members were super friendly. It's a warehouse gym so there is no AC and you can really sweat it out. They say they are expanding also so I am looking forward to seeing what big things happen for them. Overall a great grunge gym in downtown that I will definitely be back to.

I had been a member of this gym for 5 years and had a great relationship with the management or so…read moreI thought. I was injured by their equipment which is mostly second hand horribly maintained throughout the facility. I made a verbal report to the owner through the front desk staff and I offered a solution. I returned to the gym a few days later and was frustrated when I nearly injured myself in the same manner due to the same faulty equipment. I immediately approached the owner who informed me that my her gym was protected from any liability because all customers signed a waiver and that I should be more careful! I informed her that the waiver would likely protect her from some liability but not from the gross negligence on the part of Befit gym due to the fact that MOST of the equipment is in poor repair and they are aware that they are putting patrons in safety risk! She argued me to the point that it became a hostile environment. He became Karen! She wouldn't even allow me to file an incident report. I had them cancel my membership. I am now moving forward with litigation. I do not recommend this gym to anyone . UPDATE: the gym doesn't appear to have any liability insurance or an incident reporting process. After I inquired about the two, the owner unbeknownst to me, made a criminal complaint to the police alleging some fictitious claim as an attempt to shield her business from liability in future litigation. Had one of those type officers arrived, I could be dead. Please do not patronize this business. It is not a safe environment for any of US!

I've been going to Vera Pilates for about a year now, and it's done wonders for my bawty. I have an…read moreeight-class monthly membership and try to attend 2-3 classes a week. They have a variety of classes to fit your needs, goals, or just energy level that day: first timers (for beginners), signature, sculpt (a lil' more weights, def more challenging), praise (prayer and gospel integrated in class), unwind (stretch class)... My favorite instructors--in no particular order--are Bobbie, Nina-Simone, and Sheridan. They all challenge you, help level up your practice (or give you space to take a step back if you need it), cheer you on... and their classes start on time! I live by my calendar and have 20+ scheduled meetings all week, so I like being able to rely on their classes starting and ending on time. (There is a 5 minute grace period for anyone arriving late, but I appreciate that they don't hold up the class for one or two people.) Vera often offers themed classes (themed musical artists or genres) and they sometimes bring in complimentary (and very thoughtful) treats like donuts for mother's day, cookies just because... they also do challenges with prizes--like luxe handbags. What, what?! My biggest tips for newbs (Pilates newbs or new to Vera): Arrive 10 min early so your instructor can show you around, explain the rules (no shoes!), and demo the machine if ya need it. Don't arrive *right* when class starts... that aint right, ya'll.

However, I've never tried Pilates using the reformer. Vera is in my neighborhood and I decided to try a beginner's class with a friend. The studio is intimate and upon walking in, it felt comfortable. They have spa like slippers as the studio is a shoe-free environment. Check-in is available on an iPad. Sheridan was the instructor for the beginners class and she was awesome. She met everyone where they were and encouraged us to level up for certain movements if we showed the potential to do so. The playlist was a vibe (hip-hop and rap) however in concentrating in the movements it wasn't distracting though in other workouts I may have taken a dance break! I found the class, instructor, and studio warm and inviting. I also really liked reformer Pilates! I plan to return!
