I would never recommend them. They came to my house specifically to remove branches from around my flagpole and flag. Not only did they do a useless job of this, as my flags were torn within a week, but he was hesitant to come and fix it and offered to do it "just this one time", then when they did, they just cut down the middle of the branch and left it looking terrible. When I mentioned this, his response was, "well weren't you here to tell them?"....isn't that what I paid THEM for? I just hired another service to come out and fix what they left looking awful. We bought the house a year ago, and have inherited a few over grown oak trees. I work in insurance and I know having the branches extend to the road are a liability. Every time it storms dead branches fall onto the driveway. I walk through the neighborhood and I have seen a lot of signs in people's yards for Veterans tree service. I also use the neighborhood app first recommendations....especially for things that are new to me. Mike the owner of Veterans was highly recommended...he had great reviews. So I called him for a quote. He responded immediately (always a good sign), he came out and we discussed what we wanted, and he explained what he could do. He also educated us on the growth of the trees and advised that some of the limbs we were questioning would not need to be cut as they posed no risks ( you dont want to charge me and do unnecessary work!?? Wow!) Communication throughout the process was clear and he responds quickly to any questions. We asked to keep some old the lumber for firewood he advised... not a problem. We live on a busy street, I was happy to see the cones out and that they maintained safety efforts while working. Mike on day one, upon introducing himself provided us a copy of his business liability insurance. The price was reasonable and fair for the work needing to be done. I would recommend Veterans to anyone who wants to be dealt with fairly and needs quick and efficient work done. They showed up on a Monday morning and got the job done! See my previous review of this company. I was out early this morning again digging up tiny pecan trees, cutting roots and attempting to eradicate the onslaught of unwanted tiny pecan trees growing in my yard which this company was hired to fix. This tree service was paid to cut down the tree and to grind the stump. Unfortunately, for me multiple tiny pecan trees continue to grow from the pecan tree where they did the grinding. They have been notified multiple times of the ongoing problem since March 2023 when the service was done, but at this time the issue remains unresolved. read more

Mike came right away to give a quote. I waited a few months to call back due to funds. But a huge limb came down, I cleaned that all up but the large limb. When he came back he changed his bid by saying he was doing a lot of it for free. Fine. But will you please take the large roots and the roots that are above ground. I had to pay before the work was complete due to I was going out of town,he had a cancellation, moved me up by five days. messaged him about this and have never received a call or a reply. read more

I originally hired Veterans Tree Service to do a leaf removal in February, after a few scheduling hiccups, which was partly my fault, they came out and did a good job. That service is why they get two stars from me. After the leaf removal job I had Mike come back to my house to give me a quote for removal of a tree that was leaning against the front of my house and trimming a large branch from another tree that was rubbing the side of my house. Mike gave me a quote for having both jobs done at once and if I had them done separately. After a few days of deliberation I decided I needed to wait financially to have the tree removed and contacted Mike about having only the limb trimmed at this time. He tried several times to convince me to have both done at once, but ultimately I believed he was fine with only doing the limb trimming based on his text response, a "thumbs up." Fast forward to April and I haven't scheduled a time to have the limb trimmed as life happens and it wasn't a priority. I contacted Mike via text again and asked him to put us on his schedule for the trimming. He responds with a date and time for the following week. Two days before he's supposed to do the job he texts me and asks if I still have his work proposal from February. I do and I text him a picture. He responds that he has a minimum to move equipment and gives me a price almost twice the original quote. I told his "minimum" was not discussed when he wrote the quote. He did not mention it during our discussions that followed. Finally, he didn't bring it up when I scheduled the appointment, so no I would not do it for more. His response was he didn't have the proposal with that amount in front of him and didn't say anything because he thought it was for more! What absurdity. I took this to mean, "If you didn't have the proposal I gave you before, I was going to charge you whatever the damn well I please." I asked him point blank if he would be coming out on the date and time agreed upon, for the amount agreed upon. His snarky response was to cut and paste his exact text from before. Needless to say Veterans Tree Service did not show up. read more

Scheduled an appointment to give quote and they no showed and wouldn't answer phone or texts. Can't recommend that!!!

Mike came out right away to give an estimate for removing a tree for us and he noticed how dangerous it was, as it had already split in a couple of places & part of it recently fell onto our cars. He & his partner Ulysses pulled a team of workers from another job to come take the tree down before it fell onto our house! He was straightforward and gave a fair price. He even walked around our yard at my request to talk about other landscape needs. He didn't try to sell us on anything and even offered advice and suggestions on what we could do ourselves! The team that came out all worked together alongside Mike & Ulysses like a well oiled machine, taking down our dangerous tree in no time flat! We were so impressed and loved Mike's spirit and attitude and we would have them out again for all of our large landscape projects! Highly recommended!! read more

If I could give a 0 star review, I would. However, I have no completed service to base this review on. I originally had an 8AM appointment on 12/22 for leaf clean up. The owner texted me saying there was rain in the forecast that day, could they come on 12/21? I told him that was good for me. It rained off and on all day on 12/21. I called and texted asking if they were still coming to do the leaf clean up. He said he left it with his project manager to decide. After another text message and voice mail, he called and texted saying they would be here on 12/22 between 1-2. At 1:45PM on 12/22, I texted to see if they were coming. I was told he left it up to his project manager and was informed they would not be showing up...again. He stated his next appointment was on 12/29. No thank you. After being scheduled and blown off 3 times and having to call and text to find out if they were making their 3rd scheduled appointment, I will not book or recommend this business again. The unfortunate thing for them is had I been satisfied, I would have used them for other services. I understand that people get behind or backed up. However, I was scheduled for a 12/22 8AM appointment that kept getting moved and had to call and text to find out if they were still going to do my clean up. I would think after 3 re-scheduled appointments, he would have tried a little harder to fit me in. read more

Very professional. Very quick to respond. I was in need of tree trimming ASAP before my roofing contractor would replace my roof. His crew was on time and they accomplished so much in just one day!
