TJ is very professional! He was referred by my aunt who recently got her backyard done and my mom wanted our front yard to be remodel so we called TJ. He quoted me the price and came over to take a look before he brought his team over the next day. They were super quick with the job, it only took 2 days and he even had a vision of how he can make it look nicer than what my mom's idea was. He told us to trust him and he drew us the plan and next thing you know he was right and my mom loved it! Will definitely recommend TJ if you're looking for someone that is good with concrete work and we will definitely recommend him to our friends! Thank you so much!!

Honest, trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable. In a world where everyone has a brother or a cousin who "does concrete", I would highly recommend not going that route. You want someone who is an expert in their trade, comes with decades of experience and can troubleshoot on the fly to ensure you get the absolute best end result. That someone is TJ. My husband found TJ on Craigslist when we were looking to barter/trade our SUV for some pretty extensive concrete work. After visiting his YouTube channel, which you should definitely do if you haven't already, we invited TJ up to check out our property and talk details. I was pleasantly surprised with the numerous design options he was able to share with me after only spending minutes in our yard. When he left, we had a solid plan, a beautiful design and at a price that was below ALL of our other quotes. We love our new driveway and are constantly getting compliments on how custom and sleek it looks. In addition to the driveway, we also got a front porch area and 2 separate building pads. It was a huge job, during a month with a tremendous amount of rain, and TJ worked through every obstacle and issue that popped up to ensure we were happy customers.

TJ @ Veteran Concrete worked wonders on our previously cluttered dirt-filled backyard and side yard, crafting a modern, Zen-like space that aligns perfectly with our ideas. From the start, his hands-on approach and commitment shone through. Not only did he manage the project professionally, but TJ also stepped in personally whenever needed, ensuring a solid execution even when his team faced challenges. One standout quality of TJ is his communication. He took the time to understand our ideas, provided valuable insights, and kept us informed at every stage of the project. His approachability and adaptability turned what could have been a daunting process into a seamless collaboration. Really awesome work. TJ's expertise, combined with his dedication to turning concepts into reality, make him an outstanding choice for any concrete project.

Travis and his crew were prompt, fitting me in before he said he could start. They worked every opportunity and finished timely. Very professional explaining things and answering questions. Would recommend Travis and his crew and will be using them again for my street apron and turning my front deck to a concrete area.

We wanted to increase our backyard patio, so we called Veterans. TJ responded promptly. He gave us an estimate, and within a few weeks, bam--he and his crew made it happen. The finished product looks amazing and the whole process was easy and straight-forward. If you're looking to have concrete work done, save yourself a bunch of headaches and START with Veterans. They are no-nonsense and will expeditiously complete your desired project.

TJ was referred to us by a family friend. TJ came to us at a time when our project was abandoned by another concrete contractor. He came in, assessed the situation and gave us several options. He pointed out flaws in the prior contractor contractors initiation of the work. For example, the elevation was off and not enough excavation was done. The options he provided showed his professionalism and expertise in his field. Our yard had several complex issues and he gave us multiple remedies. We immediately decided to go with him. We came to an agreement and the worked started promptly. TJ is honest and straight forward. In order to work with him effectively, you have to make your concerns known. He can always have several projects going at once and you want to point of the details of your needs. I suggest you go over the plan in details and have a written agreement. Overall, our final product looks beautiful and we are extremely satisfied. Again , TJ is a professional and he appears to have extensive experience in the field. I would trust all concrete project with him. Just be sure that in order to work with him effectively, you have to speak up and make sure he understand what you want. On a side note, although TJ never mentioned that he is a veteran but I can assume based on the title of his company, that he served in the past. And it does show from his sense of discipline and punctuality. I also heard he offered jobs to those that are most in need of one. Great job! Thanks, again!

This post is long overdue! TJ and his crew replaced our entire driveway late last year and who knew it could look so good. I appreciated TJ's patience with us throughout out the entire process, as we had a lot of questions and attention to detail is very important to us. Our driveway required a lot more work than anticipated but that didn't deter TJ at all. He was able to get the job done. Thank you TJ to your crew, we look forward to working with you again.

TJ did an outstanding job replacing our patio. Throughout the whole planning process he was very responsive and provided great guidance on what made sense for our space. They removed our existing concrete and pavers and were able to get it all hauled away in one day. Prep and pour took two more days and the result is beautiful.

TJ and his crew were great. Very responsive from start to finish. They understood my vision and executed it perfectly. My new stepping stones look great, I couldn't be happier!

True pros! TJ and his crew did an incredible job for us. We had a super long driveway that was in rough shape and had huge puddles every time it rained. Had other concrete guys tell me there wasn't enough slope to drain properly and that it couldn't be done the way we wanted it. No problem for TJ. He was able to get the slope just right, no more puddles, super smooth finish. Couldn't be happier. Communication was excellent and TJ is a man of his word. He did exactly what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it. He is a concrete master that truly cares about his customers satisfaction. We will definitely be hiring Veterans Concrete again.

This is ONLY because we checked daily work and instructed them to fix mistakes and sloppy work. They spent a lot of their time redoing what should have been completed right the first time. Daily progress (or lack there of) showed us that the owner/project manager (Tevita/Mata) is not a good project manager nor that he gave his crew clear direction on this project. The process after contract signing was horrible...not at all professional. The project took much longer than Tevita initially quoted (over 2 months vs the 2 weeks he originally told us). This resulted in change orders and cost overruns. He also tried to charge me to fix their breakage/mistakes/errors (e.g., fixing the sidewalk his workers broke). His crew was not respectful of our property (we had to live with their mess...it's not a vacant lot). They did not regularly clean up the work site nor organize equipment and materials left onsite. Seeing their lunch garbage (cans, bottles, wrappers, etc.) at the end of their workday was common. This continued even after repeated complaints to Tevita and to his crew. No one on site could to provide straight answers as to that day's work or when specific project goals would be completed. Whenever I would spoke with him, Tevita made excuses, provided misinformation, denied deliverables he previously promised, and deflected from answering direct questions. He has a habit of talking over the customer when asked questions he doesn't like. On at least one occasion, he raised his voice and started yelling to avoid answering questions. If it was not in writing, he'd say it wasn't what we discussed. I have never had such issues when working with professional/reputable companies. Tevita and his crew failed to meet every single deliverable date he set. I found him very difficult to work with. I feel that he does not show proper respect to the customer. Instead he appears to think that the customer, the person paying him, should accept subpar work. I suspect that he may also not fully understand the processes involved with the work being performed. I feel that Tevita and Lamata Concrete are not professional. They didn't use professional equipment and they didn't manage the job site or their onsite work time professionally. Their workers typically started late morning and were gone by early afternoon. Lamata Concrete has major logistical problems. They couldn't get an adequately-sized crew or required materials to the job site at the start of any given day, typically interrupting workflow for hours to go fetch supplies. Had they staged materials and tools at the worksite (where there was ample area to store all materials needed for the entire project) and had his crew worked a full 8 hours per day at the job site, I believe they could have finished weeks ago. They are SLOW...3 weeks for a stamped concrete driveway and pathways. I definitely CANNOT recommend them for a cinder block wall. It took way too long (over 2 months) to complete. I feel like they have never built this type of wall. I regret hiring Lamata Concrete. I CANNOT recommend Lamata Concrete nor would I use them again. They were such a hassle to work with compared to the many other professional/reputable companies I have hired. My opinion...take their negative YELP reviews seriously and ask for references and talk to those references. Tevita's response is a great example of how he makes excuses, provides misinformation, denies promised deliverables, and deflects from addressing the real issue. I find it a bit childish and very unprofessional.

This was a technically challenging project involving a steep hill and very mature redwood roots. Standout qualities of this company are: 1. Ease of quoting process Before coming out in person, they were able to give us a ballpark price based on dimensions, fence type, and site images. This allowed me to decide whether to move forward and I thought this was really respectful of my time. Then, Dago, the owner, came for the site visit and to discuss details. 2. No bait and switch In ironing out the details, there was some miscommunication about whether staining was included. Dago was able to meet us halfway with the price increase. This honest business style continued throughout the project and no change orders or unexpected price increases happened. 3. Detail oriented Throughout the project, we discussed details such as fence posts placement relative to tree roots, post height, etc. Dago was both available in person and by email via his assistant Maria. It was also nice to have responses confirmed in writing so that things were clear and there would be no bait and switch. 4. Personality Dago is a really nice person and I enjoy speaking with his about his geriatric dogs, etc. This also helped me not feel anxious about the project, because I felt that I could trust him. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range, another was around $12K, and an outlier was above $20K. Dago's price was the lowest quote (with minute differences in material) and we are very glad we went with him!
