My dog and I love Veterans Park! It is right down the road from our house. It's always clean and it has some great walking paths. There is a huge playground for kids and a pretty little lake that you can fish in. There are two dog parks - one for big dogs and one for little dogs. It's a great place!

Such a great place to take a walk. The longer end of the trail edge is about 1.5 miles. The trail is nicely paved and smooth. Lots of things to look at as you take a stroll, turtles sunning, a troll village by a small creek, dogs playing in the dog park, people fishing, war memorial circle. There is an impeccable and vey nice playground if you have littles. I have seen an ice cream truck on the weekends. It does get packed on nice days, so plan accordingly. There are 3 parking lots the back lot is a bit tight so if you have a bigger car would recommend the other two.

This is a fantastic park and I want to thank St.Charles County for providing a great place where people and animals can get out and enjoy nature. The park has a 1.6 mile paved walking trail , 3 pavilions for events, enclosed area for dogs to play, large nice playground, soccer fields, large open spaces, nice clean restrooms and a very special moving Veterans memorial and tribute.

This park is kinda out of the way for us but the drive is always well-worth it. We've been coming here for several times. There is a fantastic playground for the kiddos with a variety of things to play with. We spent at least 2 hours here since my little one loved it so much. There is also a paved walking/jogging trail and an off leash dog park. The park is very clean.Plenty of parking. Would highly recommend.

I just moved to the area and needed a park for my daily walks with my dog, Java. I'm so very happy I tried this park first! The park is absolutely gorgeous and very well-maintained. The pond has all sorts of animals and fish, and I really enjoy watching the ducks and the turtles sunbathing. I feel very safe at this park. Everyone walking around the park has been super friendly, and there aren't sketchy areas whatsoever. The walking paths are even and well-maintained. For someone with hip and spine injuries, that's great because I'm not tripping on ledges or slipping on gravel. My dog Java looks forward to our walk every single day. He really likes the grass and the paths. He has an issue with texture because he's weird, but he really enjoys the park. He really likes the pond; sometimes he REALLY likes the pond and wants to go in! I really like the tribute walkway to veterans. As a vet myself, it makes me grateful for such a nice park dedicated to veterans and service members. The playground is also maintained well and seems like a pretty popular place with kids. We haven't been to the actual dog park yet, but the fences are perfect for keeping the dogs in. I'm working on reactivity with my dog, and he's doing well, so hopefully, we can enjoy the off leash area soon.

Best Upcoming brand new park in the area! Great for kids or dog parents or yourself. Dog a dog park and jungle gyms and picnic areas. This area is the place to be on this holiday with such great walking trails.

Great county park located in Weldon Spring , Missouri featuring lakes, trails, playground, soccer fields, scenic overlook and other cool features honoring our fallen soldiers.

Love to fish here. It's not overly crowded around the lake which is nice and there seems to be bass, blue gill, catfish.

It almost seemed unbelievable some of the imagery stemming from these 7,000 acres of natural beauty and outdoor recreation in the heart of scenic Missouri wine county. Once you are off highway 40, it's 50-55mph WINE-dy back roads to get there. Once you get into the turn in, it's a graveled road with a trailhead to the Katy Trail. Do not even think about having a clean car upon entering this place. It will get dirty and dusty. There are also (surprisingly) random humans running in the middle of the narrow driveway leading up to the sunflower field and ending at a boat ramp. I never understood why people never stick to one side of the road while on foot amongst VEHICLES. I find my friend and we exit our vehicles to begin our mini photoshoot in the sunflower fields. I felt like Candy(wo)man as the bees tended to the sunflowers while I freaked out thinking they'd sting me with my bright yellow shirt on and black skirt. It was so blissful to see sooo many beautiful BIG butterflies fly around us. The caterpillars were on like every leaf just hanging out like the Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. It was nature at its finest. Sunflowers for as far as the eye can see. The sounds of bees (and flies) buzzing about. I tried to relax, and we got a few non-frantic pictures of me. I will wear pants next time and try to relax more. I was invading THEIR space, not the opposite.

Consisting of two interlocking trails, the Lewis and Clark trails can be hiked separately for shorter walks or combined for an 8-mile trek. The trails are moderately strenuous, so good health and physical conditioning are recommended. Both trails descend into deep ravines and ascend to high ridges. Rocks, roots, and ruts make some sections treacherous. If you walk the Clark Trail counter clockwise you'll reach the high bluffs overlooking the Missouri River about 1-1/2 miles--or 30-40 minutes in. It's quite a view and worth the trek.

We came to see the Sculpture "The Awakening" which is a massive sculpture of a giant who is struggling to get out of the ground. When we first got here, we noticed the park is in a pretty secluded area, and not many people were around unless they were going to the library that is connected to the parking lot. There are so many different parts of this park, including "The Awakening" sculpture, an amphitheater, a walking trail with a waterfront, and a Veterans memorial. The park was very clean, and we loved everything we experienced. The sculpture was so cool and is basically a steel man broken up into different separated body parts, who looks like he is trying to free himself from the ground. It's unbelievable how big this is in person, and we loved it. The Veterans Memorial was gorgeous and included significant quotes, a fountain, and American flags with every branch of the military included. The waterfront and trails were gorgeous, and we saw many HUGE ducks, cardinals, and wildlife. We loved the isolated walking trail because it had such beautiful views. Homes are being built around there, too, and the water would be such a gorgeous view to have every day from a home window. We weren't able to go to the amphitheater because they were getting ready for a summer night free concert event, but when we left, many people were gathering to go to the event. You can bring your own beer as long as it's in a can, so that's awesome and unlike many other public areas! Overall, if I lived in St. Louis, I could see myself regularly coming to this park and the surrounding area often. It's definitely a tranquil place where you can be one with nature and enjoy the views and entertainment.
