We have used VCA Bedford Meadows for 3 years since we moved to the area. We have 2 dogs now, but 3…read morewhen we moved here 3 years ago. Found this vet 2 days after we moved here as our Doberman had a leg injury due to the move. Initial appointment as well as all others have been top notch. The staff have always got us scheduled ASAP. When we have emergencies they see us immediately. Dr. Risley is the best vet we've ever had and he is very good with our dogs. We had to put down our 12 year old Schnauzer last year. The ladies and Dr. Risley made an extremely heartbreaking process a bit easier. All of the office staff is amazing. When you have 3 dogs you have frequent visits to the vet. All of the staff are loving and our dogs love them...even if they are getting shots. Lol! We have had all different procedures and surgeries and have boarded our pups here on numerous times. Dr. Risley has never recommended a procedure that isn't necessary. We've had vets that you feel like you are walking into Jiffy Lube and being solicited a bunch of ridiculous tests and procedures. Dr. Risley understands that our dogs are our family members but we don't won't to extend their lives past what is best for them or break the bank. If you are looking for a wonderful place for your pet then this is the place.

I decided to use this provider as she was available the soonest. Pro - availability Cons - EVERYTHING ELSE First, I did. Not feel she had any empathy or compassion for my situation. I have another dog in excellent health that was excited to see we had a visitor. She was short with him and acted as if he was an annoyance. Second, it is expensive to do in home pet euthanasia. I know this and expected it. To get his cremains back was an additional $325 or $350 , I honestly don't remember but I didn't care, I wanted him back. I was notified by text that he was ready to come home and I was expected to pick him up. I live in SW Fort Worth and she is in Bedford. This was not told to me prior to receiving this text. For the extra amount charged, I think he should have been delivered back home. I went and picked him up. There sat a little blue bag on her porch. Included was a paw print but no stand to display it. Not once in our texting did she inquire how either myself or other dog were doing. Seems like once she was paid, I was of no concern, And last, at the time of his passing, she launched into a lengthy prayer. Again, not discussed ahead of time. How does she know if the pet owner desires this or its parr of their beliefs? I do not recommend using this provider.

Brought my Rudy ( cat ) due to coughing with sometimes vomit . The vet came in and looked at Rudy…read moreand focused on his eye which is under his regular vet's care. Urgent care vet said I'm sorry I know that's not what you brought him in for , she said Rudy has asthma and will do X-ray. After X-ray she cam in and showed me the X-ray and said that she's not concerned about the asthma that it was not concerning her, but she wanted to do surgery on Rudy's eye . I have already discussed Rudy's eye with his regular vet and I have an ointment that I apply daily. She was very pushy and dismissed my chief complaint ( coughing with some vomit ) be she wasn't concerned about it. She gave Rudy a steroid injection!!! Immediately Rudy became worse and when I contacted urgent care the response was the treating vet will call you tomorrow when she returns to work ...I'm very upset at this point and they're trying to avoid the situation. Munson called and said bring Rudy back in and that they would take another look at Rudy , at this point I don't trust them anymore. Rudy's treating vet. at urgent care wanted to do surgery as this will warrant her more money. I went to visit family for the remaining holidays and took Rudy with me , my sister was just as concerned about Rudy that she took him to her vet. I learned that country veterinarians have more knowledge and compassion. Can't see the forest for the trees, is what he said !!! Rudy was properly treated and is doing better no thanks to YOU!!! If urgent care Dr wasn't concerned then she shouldn't have gave him steroids. I'm against over vaccination/ medicating my fur babies. Steroids have a lot of side effects!!! This greedy vet at urgent care was just in it for the financial gain and not for the well being of my Rudy . I will be filing a complaint against this urgent care as I have many videos of before urgent care visit and after urgent care visit. I do not recommend this veterinary clinic, if you love your fur babies avoid this place. She had the audacity to send me an estimate for 781.00 for eye surgery , this is not why I was at urgent care!!! Country veterinarians said he wouldn't have gave him steroids. Here is a picture of my Rudy today after being properly diagnosed and treated.
