Thank you Mid-Cities and especially Dr. Burtch, who saw us. Dr. Burtch saved Griffin's little pup life! I was convinced it was hopeless because we had another dog go through this major surgery. With him, I prayed please let it pass, but it didn't. So I thought her idea of the IV and hoping that it passes was pointless. But Dr. Burtch gently talked with me. She spent enough time in the room with me that I finally said at the very last minute go do it, do all you can please. But I left there thinking I was coming back to euthanize Griffin. When she called to say, his stomach looked better and he had eaten and not thrown up...I can't tell you how happy I was. I had prayed and ask God for help, but I really did not expect it. Dr. Burtch, the staff and God are a powerful team. Dr. Burtch doesn't lose hope and shares it with those of us who are distraught and losing hope. Thank you so much Dr. Burtch and staff!!!! Griffin pooped twice with ALOT of the pillowcase fabric last night. He has eaten chicken and rice twice now and not thrown up and he's doing fine. I'm so thankful you decided to be a vet Dr. Burtch. My little one, Penny, had one heck of a week. We, had one heck of a week. My girl let me know she was in significant pain, and I raced her to the clinic. Her regular vet wouldn't be in until that afternoon, and I wasn't going to wait at her expense. They recommended Mid-cities, and I'm happy they did; they are exceptional. Upon arriving and after checking in, we waited for several minutes, then were taken back to our room. When meeting Dr. Renegar, we went over Penny's symptoms, and her treatment journey started. After her labs and X-ray, we found something was going on with her kidney. That's when it was suggested we do a US (ultrasound); unfortunately, her kidney was very sick. We came up with a treatment plan, and Penny stayed to get fluids and pain medication until Dr. Hurd was able to review her records. Once that was done, Dr. Hurd reached out to me, and we spoke about the condition of the kidney and surgery. Unfortunately, Penny had (after pathology confirmed) a stone that caused inflammation and eventually burst. What I appreciate about Dr. Hurd, she went over three different things it could have been, and that was one of them. She wanted to save the kidney, but after seeing it, that wasn't an option. I couldn't handle this issue with all emotions; I had to think clearly and logically. Dr. Hurd has been (Penny's care is still ongoing) so kind through this all. Empathetic, caring, sensitive to Penny's needs, etc. If she had her own practice, we would be there. Penny is recovering and doing very well. She has one more visit to remove her stitches and for labs. I highly recommend them if your sweet baby needs to be seen after-hours, or if your regular vet isn't available. Customer Service: The ladies up front are exceptional. As someone with a background in UC/Emergency Medicine, I can say these ladies do a very good job. They're dealing with humans AND their pets; combine those two, and you never know what you're going to get. Then, dealing with the financial part of emergency vet care, oohweee. As you're waiting in your room, they stop by in intervals to check on you. They offer beverages (hot and cold), blankets (it's cold in there), and you have a ROKU in your room while you wait. *NOTE: If you're going in the later hours (after 7), call to make sure they're still seeing patients; depending on the patient volume, they may be at capacity for the remainder of the evening. Keep in mind, they're an ER for our babies (fur), please show them grace. read more

If I could give them less than one I would I am deeply disappointed by the experience I had with this veterinary clinic. My dog was experiencing a serious medical emergency, including vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and visible signs of distress. Before making the drive, I called ahead and was told that we could come in and that my dog could be seen. After driving nearly 50 minutes with a very sick animal, we arrived only to be told that they had decided not to take any more patients. At no point during our drive were we contacted or informed that their availability had changed. Instead, we were turned away at the door while dealing with an urgent and frightening situation. I understand that veterinary clinics can become overwhelmed and that emergencies happen. However, confirming that a critically ill pet can be seen and then refusing care upon arrival is unacceptable. Every minute matters during a medical emergency, and the time we lost making this trip could have been spent seeking treatment elsewhere. What made the situation even more upsetting was the complete lack of empathy shown for both my pet and my family. We were scared, stressed, and desperately trying to get help, only to be met with a decision that should have been communicated before we drove almost an hour to the clinic. I would strongly encourage this clinic to improve its communication practices and patient intake procedures. Pet owners rely on the information they are given, especially during emergencies. No family should have to experience the frustration, stress, and delay in care that we did. read more

I love this place . I found it when my dog started having seizures back in 2025 and my nearby vet office was closed. I love it so much that I left the vet practice that I have been taking my dog to for the last four years and started taking him here. They're super friendly provide great service and are very informative. Incredibly empathetic and they also have payment plan options. During a round of zoomies, my Shih Tzu, Tim, injured his leg. We knew something was wrong, but we had no idea how serious it might be. Dr. Herd entered the exam room, got down on the floor, and immediately began talking to Tim. Her calm, comforting demeanor put him at ease right away. She let him sniff her stethoscope, and before long, he was allowing her to gently massage and examine his leg. What impressed me most was her approach. Many vets would have immediately ordered X-rays and run up the bill, but Dr. Herd took the time to perform a thorough hands-on evaluation first. She explained that she didn't feel anything out of place and took Tim to the back for a more detailed examination to ensure there were no knee or hip injuries. Her recommendation was two weeks of rest and anti-inflammatory medication to see how he responds before pursuing more expensive diagnostics. At 12 years old, the possibility of an ACL or meniscus injury and the cost of surgery had been a major concern for us, so we truly appreciated her thoughtful and conservative approach. The front desk staff was also wonderful. Even with a crowded waiting room, they remained organized, friendly, and attentive. They never seemed frazzled, and we never felt rushed during check-in or our visit. I was honestly nervous that, because this clinic is such an affordable option, the level of service might suffer. Brought my Rudy ( cat ) due to coughing with sometimes vomit . The vet came in and looked at Rudy and focused on his eye which is under his regular vet's care. Urgent care vet said I'm sorry I know that's not what you brought him in for , she said Rudy has asthma and will do X-ray. After X-ray she cam in and showed me the X-ray and said that she's not concerned about the asthma that it was not concerning her, but she wanted to do surgery on Rudy's eye . I have already discussed Rudy's eye with his regular vet and I have an ointment that I apply daily. She was very pushy and dismissed my chief complaint ( coughing with some vomit ) be she wasn't concerned about it. She gave Rudy a steroid injection!!! Immediately Rudy became worse and when I contacted urgent care the response was the treating vet will call you tomorrow when she returns to work ...I'm very upset at this point and they're trying to avoid the situation. Munson called and said bring Rudy back in and that they would take another look at Rudy , at this point I don't trust them anymore. Rudy's treating vet. at urgent care wanted to do surgery as this will warrant her more money. I went to visit family for the remaining holidays and took Rudy with me , my sister was just as concerned about Rudy that she took him to her vet. I learned that country veterinarians have more knowledge and compassion. Can't see the forest for the trees, is what he said !!! Rudy was properly treated and is doing better no thanks to YOU!!! If urgent care Dr wasn't concerned then she shouldn't have gave him steroids. I'm against over vaccination/ medicating my fur babies. Steroids have a lot of side effects!!! This greedy vet at urgent care was just in it for the financial gain and not for the well being of my Rudy . I will be filing a complaint against this urgent care as I have many videos of before urgent care visit and after urgent care visit. I do not recommend this veterinary clinic, if you love your fur babies avoid this place. I was so sad, yet relieved that it wasn't stressful for my dog. I held her as she took her last breath, and they put her in a strong, casket-like box so that I could bury her in my backyard. I'm really disappointed with the care my kitten received here. We waited about an hour while they "checked" her mouth, only to be told they didn't actually do anything. They also claimed she was trying to bite during the exam, which didn't make sense because she's extremely weak -- I can check her mouth myself without any issue. They recommended sedation for $200, which I agreed to, but even after a full body check under sedation they still couldn't tell me what was wrong. I left with no answers, no real explanation, and a kitten who was still clearly struggling. However if you arrive after 9pm and they are extremely busy and you choose to stay and get in a room after 10pm, the veterinarian may choose to charge you a 300 after hours fee to help pay for all the staff that has to stay late. They will wait until you have waited your hour or so to let you know this! While I've had many good experiences at this office, it is often the bad experiences that make you sad to go back. I was googling so many urgent care or ER vets for my pittie who out of no where broke out in hives. I was put on a waitlist but her face and snout started swelling along with her whole body in hives and swollen, so I went inside and they immediately stated asking questions, and took her back to evaluate her. The wait wasn't bad for how busy they all were and not one person was in a bad mood, everyone was so helpful and took good care of my babygirl BettyBoop. They gave her Benadryl a steroid shot I believe and we waited about 30 ish minutes to see if she would improve. It didn't, so they took her back again and took her blood pressure and gave her epinephrine. After we seen improvement we went home. The following day they sent a follow up text just to see how she was doing. I would definitely be telling everyone about this place. Our pug has some recurring issues and they always make sure we are fully informed and comfortable with the steps needed to get our pug feeling better! We had to come in back in January with my senior dog who was starting not to walk well and I knew something more was going on. Right when we arrived they were very caring with our situation. My senior dog had stopped walking so they made sure to bring a gurney to our car and carefully lifted her onto the gurney and quickly got us to a room. When the vet had come in I knew it was as what I feared, my senior dog had cancer that was rapidly spreading. The vet informed us of all the options and let us take our time with our decision. They made my senior dog feel comfortable for one more day so we could take her home to say goodbye. We had to come in the next day to put our dog down and the staff was extremely caring during this whole visit. We have moved since losing our dog but the vet had sent a sympathy card that hadn't reached us, so they contacted my husband to see how they could get that to us. We finally received the card from the vet and included was a small pet portrait of my senior dog who passed away in January. A couple of months ago I took my elderly cat who apparently had a stroke. Yesterday I took my other cat for some wounds, and once again, they were very kind, thorough and transparent with pricing. This place was really friendly and nice but when i had to put my cat down unfortunately the Dr who was taking care of us was not as nice as i thought, she had assumed i wanted to take my cat home and let her die when that was not my intention at all i was already in an emotional state and i had asked her if i could take her home and she had said to me "No you cannot take your cat home to die" and i had told her no that was not my intention at all I just wanted to take my cat home after the process of putting my cat down since i knew she was deteriorating quickly, but my words would not come out as clear because of how choked up i was about putting my baby to sleep. I was also concerned about how long the process was when i had brought my cat in. My initial thought was that they were going to immediately take her and give her some fluids but that was not the case at all i was in the room for a long period of time watching my poor baby suffer while i waited anxiously. Though the process was exhausting and overwhelming within the 6 hours of me waiting the other staff members were very kind and helpful especially the front desk people who made sure i was okay but other than that i really wish that the Dr who was in charge of my cat would not assume my words and jump to conclusions. read more

Our 14 year old kitty, Queso, had been getting skinnier and skinnier, but seemed fine. Until she didn't. Sunday before last, we signed in, and piled her in the car and headed here. It was a bit of a wait, but that's to be expected. While we waited, the staff was just wonderful - asking us if we needed anything, and offering drinks. They were so considerate! When Dr. Munson walked in, she took one look at our girl, and told us she was very sick. She ran blood tests, and let us know that there was only one thing that could show up in the blood work that we could fix and that was thyroid. Low and behold, it was her thyroid!!! She gave us hope that this could turn around, and we left with medication. Early on, we were easily able to medicate her, but as she got stronger, it became impossible to get that pill into her. I called back about 10 days later, and they called in a prescription for a topical medication that we put in her ear. They got that script to me in about 10 minutes. Yesterday was the recheck, and Dr. Munson was very optimistic about Queso's recovery. Again, the staff was so very compassionate and loving. I really love this place and recommend it so highly! When you leave, you don't feel like you got screwed with high prices - they tell you every single thing up front, and prices are fair. read more

I'd definitely recommend this animal urgent care. We recently had to take our dog in for some post-neuter complications. We were able to walk in and be seen very quickly. The vet and everyone we spoke with were informative and attentive. The total cost for being seen and for take-home medication was $90. They took care of our dog and alleviated all of our concerns about our dog's health. They didn't try to upsell us on any unnecessary testing or medication. If you are using Mid Cities Animal Medical, you are wasting your money. Last night an 8 week old kitten with fly strike was taken into the clinic. The vet provided a vaccine and an antibiotic injection. The kitten had a very large ruptured abscess and was covered in maggots. They did nothing to clean up this kitten and provided no after care instructions. This afternoon the kitten was taken to the family's regular vet and his condition is worse. The vet will sedate him, shave the area, remove all of the maggots and clean up the wound so it is closed but will still drain. Mid Cities charged $500 for yesterday's treatment and it was absolutely worthless. I wouldn't recommend this clinic for a stubbed toe let alone sick pet. This photo is very hard to look at. This is what this poor little baby is suffering through and Mid Cities Animal Medical did NOTHING TO HELP him. They sent him off without any aftercare instructions and did nothing to clean this wound, NOTHING! This poor baby is gravely ill. These people shouldn't be allowed to care for sick pets, ever! read more

This place has, hands down, THE MOST WONDERFUL group of people working with them. They take such good care of all of the animals brought in, treating them with love as if they were their own! I have never seen a more organized Veteranarian office/urgent animal care facility in my life. This clinic is always hopping and As many people that you see in there when you walk in.., they just fit them all in so smoothly With not a hiccup. And you know what, Now that I think about it , the reason for that is probably because they allow you to actually go by there and put your name on the list, go back and get your dog and come back up there when they call you !so it's awesome , like you never really have to wait ! so no chaos whatsoever, And the best part ... their prices! They are so reasonable that you might even find yourself fighting back tears of relief after all of the times you experienced a mass raping by all of the other Veteranarians/ animal hospitals/ clinics. I have noticed over the years( Keep in mind I had five dogs at one point) that animal clinics/veterinarians all seem to have forgotten why they became Veteranarians to begin with. Do NOT take your cherished pets to Mid Cities Urgent Animal Care. They overcharge, over promise, do not provide actual costs until AFTER a surgery that should have never been recommended. Two 22 year old girls brought a sick dog to them and they were told they had to sign off on an estimate before they would do surgery. They were expecting to be charged $2400, to be charged $3200 plus. Were not told meds were extra. Were not given information about why the surgery was more than expected. When my daughter called less than 24 hours later to say the dog died while they were at work today, they were told they could bring him there to dispose of....without telling her cremation would be an additional $250.00. They are predatory and are not honest up front about their costs. My girl is traumatized and now strapped with a $3200 bill to add stress to her grief.
