I have been going to Banfield over the years with the past 3 poodles which was hit or miss in terms of service at the front desk, examination room and procedures. We rescured our present fur baby last April at the Southlake location and had numerous issues. It was time for Sugar Plum's annual shots. We switched back to the Euless location and could not have been more pleased! EVERYONE and I mean everyone was outstanding in terms of service, kindness, consideration and personally. All were professional and genuinely nice! I was sorry to hear Dr. Nancy who we had for 2 other poodles over the years had retired. Yesterday starting with Lea at the front desk, Rebecca who leads the Techs and Dr. Thomas Ecklund who I've never met before were absolutely amazing! I will hope to have Rebecca and Dr. Ecklund again for her Comprehensive though I understand the Dr. is a visiting Veternarian. My daughter who is studying to be a Vet and a vet tech at another facility commented that this was the best team she's ever witnessed in the care of an animal. Kudos to Bankfield in Euless! They have up'd their game and gotten a good crew together. I hope they maintain their staffing and share the appreciation from patients and their pets. read more

I have been going here for a while. I had been pleased with the service, and the vet would come out and speak to me and make sure I had no concerns. Lately, when I have gone, the staff interactions have gone downhill. I had a drop-off appointment and arrived a few minutes early, and they refused to check my dog in. So we walked around the store. The last appointment, when they called to let me know my pup was ready, they also gave me an update on his visit. The staff told me multiple times how the vet kept complaining about my pup, which is extremely off-putting. Instead of continuously telling me how they continued to complain, why don't we say what we need to work on and ways we can achieve it? The staff gave me a bag with his preventive care, and there was some sort of testing tube in it. I don't know why, but I threw it away. They need to get their act together. read more

My animal had a "complete" medical exam at this facility approx two months ago and she was pronounced to be in great health. i took her in for a dental cleaning this week and was told by the vet that the vet found an approx 1" by 1" tumor on her jaw. This was 'missed' at her comprehensive examination - how? 1" by 1" !!!! impossible. I wou.ld NEVER recommend this "hospital" and STRONGLY suggest you go elsewhere as well - for the continued health of the animal. if i could give a "0' rating I would - and that would be too generous!!! read more

here me loud and clear....stay way from this place.. they killed my dog... went in for a normal wellness check. came home couldnt walk, eat and ended up taking him to a emergency hospital where he died. cost me almost $1000 for er visit. they are still charging me for a wellness plan even though they killed my dog. response from vet. it was just the timing this happen. i didnt call them for an appointment they called me. please please please cancel wellness plan.. and stay away from this place. read more

This is my first visit at Banfield. We've been to other vets with our other dogs, but I wanted to try Banfield because I had seen their monthly pet health plans and felt it was well worth the value to keep my little boy happy and healthy. The vet who is doing the exam- you can tell she has a love for animals. My dog was very nervous and she took the time to hold him and calm him down instead of just trying to force him to sit on the table like I've had at other places. Cost is a factor when looking for any kind of service, but the absolute value here, as well as level of care, is well worth the price and more. This is definitely my new home vet. read more

BANFIELD IS NOT A REAL VET. I am begging anyone who is considering using Banfield services to run far, far away. No matter what financial situation you're in, you will pay in the long run by picking them. We took our cat in June because he was very badly bloated. They told us he was just constipated and prescribed stool softeners and an $80 bag of special food. We trusted them and took their word. After two weeks, we called again, as nothing had changed. Again, we were told they didn't want to take action because it would be too stressful on the cat and told us to come pick up more stool softener. Again....it didn't work. In the interim, I switched him to wet food to keep him hydrated but the bloating only got worse. Now it's August and I'm just now finding out he actually has megacolon that will likely require surgery. I can't help but think if they cared enough the first visit, he could have avoided all this pain...that he never would've got here. I am disgusted that you saw opportunity in my cats suffering as a chance to upsell your memberships and extend my contract even further. I'm disgusted that the vets do not care at all about the animals they see. I'm disgusted that there's no "out" from these terrible services, aside from paying out the remainder of my plan (couple hundred dollars). I'm disgusted that I'm stuck with Banfield and can't get my cat the real treatment he needs. I'm disgusted that the employees of this company are complicit in animals suffering and help facilitate the continuation of a subpar excuse for veterinarian services. My experience has always been positive. Everyone from the receptionist to the Vets and their assistants have always been caring and attentive to my pets, cats and dogs. Their plans are a total rip off! I signed up for their plan, tried to call twice for my sick puppy and they can't even see her for a couple days... this would never happen with my kids at the pediatrician! The other time, they misdiagnosed my puppy and I found out from my brother n law, she had a virus. Horrible service! read more

It wasn't until after the Veterinarian behaved unprofessionally; I felt a review was necessary. I don't only leave negative reviews mind you... I've actually experienced poor communication from this company 3 to 4 months prior... I've spoken with their practice manager to share my concerns about how exams or appointments were set up over the phone to then change abruptly once in-house for that appointment. Today they had the excuse (which was a valid excuse of COVID-19), however their customer service has been terrible since October 2019. I tolerated it, but once the doctor shown an attitude/ behaved disrespectful with me over the phone I decided enough was enough. I do not want my animal to be around that type of energy. [Sometimes people don't need to work in certain places just because they have the title] Maybe there needs to be some revisiting of how to run a professional environment with professional customer service over the phone that translates to in person. I see how when I'm greeted to check my animal in, and some of the assistants shake their heads walking off... it's disrespectful do they do that to other pet owners? Is it because I ask questions and based on their answers I expect them to follow through with what they reply? Why would anyone pay $50 + a month for this?? Dr. Cortez... that was unprofessional today, and I don't believe it's because of the pandemic you decided to speak in a degrading manner with me. I forgive you, but this interaction needs to be known so maybe it will allow you and your team to really do some reflection when exposed. Dr Cortez is great! She and the nurse are always extremely happy to see my standard Aussie, Cooper, and genuinely listen to and care about my concerns. 2 weeks after getting Cooper he was diagnosed with Giardia and they were so helpful with making sure I understood what it was and what to do to keep him from becoming reinfected. Coop also has a dew claw that was clipped and grew back that they are sure to check and watch every time he visits. I truly feel that my dogs health is important to them and never feel rushed through a visit. I highly recommend Dr. Cortez to anyone looking for a new vet! read more

Dr. Branum is the best vet that I have ever met. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and really cares about the health of my dog. She has had to deliver bad news to me twice regarding my 14 year old shihtzu and both times she had tears in her eyes, that is hard to find in a vet. I highly recommend her. read more

Normally I have decent experiences here, but due to a lack of attention to detail and lack of communication on the part of the vet, technician, and front desk staff my dog and I had a very scary afternoon due to him being improperly medicated. I will not go into further detail but I will say that after speaking with the practice admin, I believe appropriate measures were taken to ensure something like this does not happen in the future. I have out off my dogs shots for two years and I wanted to take care of him and get him taken care of and up to date without worrying about spending a lot every time I go in....I signed up for a wellness plan and though it is about $30 a month it is worth it....it includes shots, exams, tests, teeth cleaning. the staff was very caring and they thought my dog was funny.He loves to get out and loves people and he was happy to be there. read more

Horrible. The vets here are literally scared of big dogs, specifically Dr. Nancy S. the dogs obviously feel it and start getting anxiety, and they ask you to muzzle,m the dog, which is just fine. That's not the issue. The issue is that they don't know how to handle big "scary" dogs (gsd, Doberman, etc) we had both. They terrorized the dogs because they have poor judgement and leadership of a crappy vet. The automatic response for any visit is - your dog needs antibiotics. Last visit, we were told the dog needs antibiotics because she has an infection that we are unable to diagnose or don't know if it's an infection or what it is....umm, what? Stay away from this place. We went to another Banfield nearby, problem fixed. Found a vet that actually loves dogs, isn't afraid of big dogs, and knows how to do her job. We probably visit the vet for "other than shots" reasons perhaps once every 2 years. So every time my dogs had to get shots, they get terrorized and super anxious, all because of 1 main vet who should probably pick a different career because she does not seem to even like animals in the first place, and is in it for the $. She always miraculously prescribes the MOST expensive antibiotics, which are mostly unnecessary in most cases. Other vets confirmed. I would give a 0 star if I could. It's not the company, it's the person working here that ruins this location. Stay away. Go to Southlake or Hurst location instead and no problems. read more

We've brought our cats in for their comprehensive exams twice, and the experience wasn't awful but it was unpleasant. We noticed on our first visit that the vet, Dr. S, acts as though she doesn't even want to touch cats. I'm sorry, but cats are the second most popular pets in this country, if you can't handle them you shouldn't be in this profession. Aside from our awkward comprehensive exams, where unnecessary medications and prescription foods are pushed on you, our pet became injured. We took him there to be treated and were willing to pay out of pocket for x-rays. He was there for hours before he was seen (even though signs say injured pets are seen first) and then they put a leash on him to see how he was limping and then left in a cage with no water! Mistake #1: The vet calls us and says that she saw nothing wrong with him, and was unsure why he was brought in. Mistake #2: The first statement was proven to be false when we spoke in person to the nurse that advised us because he was so nervous and aggressive due to pain they couldn't do anything for him. When I asked the nurse why the vet would give us medicine, then tell us nothing was wrong when you know that something is she had no response. Long story short they told us to do an x-ray our cat would need to be sedated. We agreed that after his 3 day supply of meds ran out we would contact them for an appointment if his leg wasn't any better. Well, just called today and Dr. Smith, now, isn't comfortable sedating a cat. So the time we could have taken him to a vet that knew what they were doing we wasted giving him the medicine you prescribed. Needless to say we're cancelling our membership for a vet that cares about his/her patients. read more
