Awesome little place, the size belies the actual offerings--my husband bought four records, which he says are hard to come by pristine pressings. It's a ton of fun to browse all the little knick knacks and treasures, e.g. I spied a 100% pure shearling coat for only $225 (which would be thousands of dollars retail in a department shop). I didn't buy it because it was waaay too large, but that's exactly the sort of treeasure you might stumble on.They also had a few Dinney and Burke satchels as well as cowboy boots. Every time I go to Half Moon Bay I stop at Vessel and it was so wonderful to return and learn that they have a thrift floor and a vintage curated floor upstairs. The thrift clothes were great and so affordable. Loved the selection. The top floor with its curated pieces was truly amazing, such special and select pieces, and at a range of prices. I purchased beautiful items (two tops and a vintage beach towel) from the first floor, and a Top Shop pair of shoes from the top floor. The staff at Vessel were so friendly, even remembering us from our last visit and made the visit even more lovely. read more

I came into Vessel Vintage & Thrift a few months ago on a rainy day after a horse-riding lesson in the morning. It was pure luck -- I was just in the area. But I'm SO glad I came in because this shop is so cute and has so many gems! I ended up walking out with a suede shirt and an angora/wool vintage orange Escada by Margaretha Ley blazer. Both are so cute and unique, and I've worn both out already. There were other really cute items i contemplated buying. The prices are not the cheapest (e.g., these are not Goodwill prices), but the selection is curated and well-organized, and the space is comfortable with spacious changing rooms. Overall I would definitely come back again! The items I purchased were great quality. Christina, the store owner, is also so sweet and great. Highly recommend this shop! read more

This thrift store is cool but it is on the pricey side. The few pieces I was planning on buying had small rips or stains. I don't mind paying a high price for vintage but it does have to be close to immaculate. Little stains are okay (if it can be hidden) but I hate rips or tears of any kind, as it can cost even more to repair the item. One thing that really pissed me off was they are trying to sell sweaters with huge stains or holes in it. They are labeled "As Is" for $25 or more. Definitely not going to pay no more than $15 for any of those items. And used items at that. They are a small business so I don't want to give them a low rating. Support while you can. Just make sure to bring a fat wallet if you're really set on shopping here and leaving with something. read more

This place totally rocks and you get a good vibe on the clothing and it's fun to find vintage clothing at an affordable price that you actually look forward to wearing. I got an awesome pair of Taylor Stitch jeans and they fit me perfectly along with a suede shirt jacket and an Italian flannel shirt and everything feels like it was made just for me. Take a look and have fun...you will find some interesting treasures if you do. Sometimes of course, you find what you want but it's either too small or too large but that's the adventure in browsing until you hit on the exact thing you are wanting. Lots of fun! read more

It was superbly well-made but the price was out of my mental spending allowance for this day trip. The tag read, "300". Against my money-smart intelligence, I gently lifted the coat/dress from the rack and exclaimed that I must try it on. It fit like it was made for me. I had to have it. At the counter, the owner made a phone call and the dress was mine for 200. Yay! For the WIN: looking up this dress online educated me on the Malcolm Starr International designer company. Came to the coast from Hayward for some wave therapy and calm chowder when suddenly I thought hm I wonder if there's any thrift stores around. I am soooo thrilled to have discovered Vessel! I'm an avid second hand/vintage shopper of designer goods and Vessel is one of my top places to shop. The selection is amazingly curated and is a mix of designer and non-designer vintage/second hand pieces. Each piece is one of a kind and they also have a rack of discounted items that start at $5! I was able to snag a beautiful dark green Tahari Petites double breasted cropped blazer with gold coin buttons and a Liz Claiborne sport button up shirt adorned with a crest logo on the breast pocket! Both pieces at $5 each! I also purchased a Brooks Brothers navy 100% wool blazer with gold buttons, beige Prada pleated trousers, and a pair of Bally Switzerland bow kitten heels. The pieces from Vessel are reasonably priced and reflects the condition and uniqueness of each piece. I'm sad I don't live in the Bay Area anymore but will continue to support and shop at Vessel whenever I'm in town! read more

Me and my 2 sisters were driving past and I said "oooh thrift store!" and my sister says something like "go back" or "reverse!" ... so we walk in thinking it'll be just another dusty thrift store...... my god.... beautiful store with beautiful well selected vintage clothes... good versions of the classics, like well cared for Levi's, Pendleton's, fisherman's sweaters, high waisted jeans, classic Coach leather bags, Madewell, Everlane, but also unique colorful pieces from every decade. We chatted with the super cool girl who owns the shop who obviously has amazing taste and is so nice. Her friend who does the buying walks in wearing this incredible outfit and reminds us that the clothes we wear should make us feel happy... it's so easy to just wear things that are basic, comfortable, and washable --- especially as we get older ---- but we would be missing out on the opportunity for expression, joy, and pride in your look.
