I just got done with meeting Peter to discuss a used Vespa he had for sale. I am a 60+ year old woman who has always loved them but only recently decided to get my cycle permit (licensing classes next, end of Oct.) so I can finally get to drive one! Peter was pleasant and professional, showing me all the ins and outs on a 2009 Vespa 150lx. He let me jump on it, move it off the center stand, and then later slide it back on, all the while explaining shortcuts to help me. Never once did he act like he was in a hurry or he was condescending. I was very impressed he never pressured me but took the time to explain various things and never seemed to give thought that I was a lone, older woman, looking at a scooter by myself. My cycle driving class results will determine if I will buy a Vespa but rest assured, Peter got my vote of confidence, and I won't hesitate to return to Vespa Schenectady at the end of October to see what used stock he has. Oh my gosh, where to begin. Peter who claims he is Vespa of Schenectady is total bullshit. He is a con artist and and totally unprofessional and dishonest. He supposedly did work on a 06 Vespa, but couldn't provide any work invoices or receipts. I contacted FOUR Vespa dealers around my location and not one could verify his part that he was charging 850.00 dollars for. Asked multiple times to show proof and he couldn't do it. He had excuse after excuse. I wouldn't take a brand new bike to him. And to top it off,he calls himself a lawyer. Only thing about this is he has been in court so much he thinks he a lawyer. read more

This place is a total ripoff...all the reviews are written by his friends. First of all this a HOBBY spinoff business as I was told by the owner, not a real money maker , but you could have fooled me...I went there with my Piaggio MP3 to have a new rear tire installed. I was told they had the tire and it would be done the following day and just leave the bike. I inquired about the price of the tire and repair and he said he would call me. I waited a few days to call since I hadn't heard from Peter about the work and was greeted with an answering machine, where no capability to leave a message was offered. An hour later I called again and got through and Peter told me that the job had not been done and again I asked about the pricing. "I have to look up the price of the tire, and maybe a few hours of labor , I will call you" . Another day and another exchange with the machine , this time by my wife...."its on the lift now" "i will call you by noon" Noon comes and goes and she calls back on the status, because two of us have to go to pick I up...her to drive me down. At about 2pm we call back and my wife is told "there are lots of hours in the day and we are here late, so it will get done.." you guessed "I WILL CALL YOU" The next day my wife calls and Peter tells her that a nut was frozen and they had to spray it something and wait for it to loosen the bolt...be tomorrow. The following day , Friday of memorial day weekend , I call and get the machine again and no call back....I now jump into the car and drive down there to confront these morons. I speak to Peters dad Rocco...he tells me that the problem is I was dealing with Peter and he's an idiot! Rocco is the mechanic and co-owner, and promises me that the bike will be done by 9am the following morning...."give me your phone number and I will call you" RIGHT! You guessed it....at 11 am I call Vespa and get the machine, but seconds after Peter calls and says he had just gotten a call from thi phone ...surprised it was me. He said they were just finishing up. Now day 12. I drive down to pick it up...by 2pm I get my bill.... $666.19 to change a rear tire. $269.99 , $220.00 for labor, and $75 to balance this 12inch tire. I told him he was gouging me and fraudulently inflating the cost. I told him I could buy the tire myself for under $50...He said he has overhead. I was forced to pay to get my bike out of there...but I did pay by credit card and the battle is just beginning. I called other Vespa dealers to get an estimate on what it should have cost...I was told $170.00 complete and out the door. I thought I was doing the right thing by going here and based on the reviews would maybe pay a bit more but use the dealer. I should have used a local bike and scooter repair shop . read more

I went to this shop to buy some parts for my vespa and they had no idea which parts fit on my model. I had to tell them four times. Finally when they ordered the parts they ordered the wrong ones. I was thinking of getting a new helmet but still do not trust these guys. read more

If I can give one piece of advice, go elsewhere. Bought a scooter and had to hire a lawyer to resolve paperwork and parts he was withholding for additional money. CRAZY BTW, I got the mirrors, warranty, RMV1 form months later but my lawyer cost me $$$ read more

Nice people, but if your bike has a carb (not fuel injected) I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere to have it serviced or repaired. I had to have both my 2005 PX150 and 2009 LXV150 repaired and/or serviced again by another shop after picking them up from Rocco at Vespa Schenectady. I had given VS several attempts to fix my PX but each time I had new problems after they were finished with it. Thankfully I was able to find another Vespa shop with a mechanic who knew what he was doing. Especially with the PX. It was a real mess (after being repaired/serviced at VS) and he brought it back to like new. I unfortunately wasted a lot of time and money on subpar service and repair work at Vespa Schenectady and therefore can not recommend them. read more
