I brought my wheel there to have my spokes looked at and trued, The owner Jim had an attitude about my attempt at doing it myself. I had the wheel fixed and when I picked it up today it was all scratched and damaged. when I left it there it was just powder coated and in brand new condition. Jim's excuse was he didn't like powder coating and that it could be buffed out. Nice try I went home and worked on it a bit and the scratches are too deep. The finish is now ruined. never again will I bring anything there or buy anything from him. read more

All my experiences at Pro-Cycle have been honest and fair. I usually just go in to buy a few supplies here and there, but I did have him do a full overhaul on a XR70R that I had. Everything was done properly, the bike 2 years later still is going strong and nothing they did fell apart. read more

I have been taking my motorcycle to Pro Cycles for over the last 5 years for tires, brakes, and inspection. Each and every time I was treated courteously and professionally. I found the prices to be fair and reasonable and the turnaround times have always been lightning fast. More recently my 18 year old Triumph Sprint ST 955i developed an oil leak. I went to my goto shop and was told there were a number of factors contributing to a leak out of my clutch side crankcase gasket. All told I had 3 things repaired and am back on the road enjoying the end of the riding season. I will say I like that I can bring the bike in without an appointment and get an inspection and leave after 20 mins. Up until this point that's the only time I had interaction with this shop. Had new tires put on my BMW sport touring at the end of last year for almost $500 after install - which isn't cheap in my mind but there's only two on a cycle and I don't ride a ton anyways so figured they should last a while. Monday I developed a flat in the rear and found the tire valve stem was leaking. Inspecting it I could see it was all cracked and rotted. The front didn't look much better. I quickly checked their website to make sure they were open until 6pm so I had an hour to get the tire to them. I took the wheel off and proceeded to the shop to find a sign on the front door indicating they were closed for their annual trip to Ohio. My bad, should have called prior but at the same token they say no appointments necessary and the webpage made no mention of this closing. Having a holiday weekend trip planned already in three days, I made a few calls to some other nearby shops who could not get to it until next week. Monro advised they don't do motorcycle tires. So, I ended up Googling all about doing this job myself (including good tips on how to break and re-seat the bead w/o proper tools) and after stopping at AutoZone and picking up a pair of two valve stems for under $4 and a valve stem pulling tool for another $5 I went home and replaced it myself in about an hour. So, the reason for writing this review and only two stars is I cannot believe the valve stems were not replaced when the new tires were put on. Now that I know what's involved and what they are exactly (and that they are cheap!) I can see no reason besides negligence that they were not replaced. I may still use this place for my annual inspections but I'll likely be looking elsewhere for any future work on the bike unfortunately. read more

Brought my track bike there for a custom tune because the previous owner erased the tune from the PCIII when I bought the bike! Although it ran pretty good if it was a street bike, the throttle was very on/off, which makes high performance track riding, where throttle control is paramount, very difficult. So I decided to get a custom tune to smooth the throttle out. Got the bike back from Pro Cycles and Jim said it ran so well that he really didn't have to do anything to it. I found that strange considering it's a highly modified race bike with a zero map, but hey, he should know what he's talking about, right? Well I took the bike to the track a month later and it pretty much ran the same as before, strong, but with a very abrupt throttle. I checked the map that he loaded into the PowerCommander and low and behold, it was an off the shelf Dynojet map, cell for cell. Even the map notes were the same as the OTS map (and didn't list the mods my bike has). He could have changed the map notes or a few cell values to make it seem like he tried. What a rip off. When I confronted him about this, he emailed me the same map, but he changed the 0-2500 RPM columns and made a couple changes in the mid-high RPM range. He was trying to make it look like he actually had a custom map on file for me, but it was clear he just typed a bunch of values in the cells. Just for laughs and giggles, I loaded this map and my bike had no power coming out of corners and ZERO high end power. Nice try guy. I am now working with a hand me down custom PCIII tune from a friend since Jim blew my budget up for another custom tune. I really feel like he just stole money from me. I would strongly encourage you not to do business with this place. read more

Just left Procycles this afternoon after stopping over on my Cbr I had some questions and wanted prices of services..I'm absolutely floored (yes I'm a woman) but I was pretty sure that the guy working in the shop was wrong when he told me that oil filters on motorcycles "hardly ever need changing" when I asked about oil change and new filter.He also told me "they are to hard to get to,so I wouldn't worry about it".WOW!! I came home immediately and Googled how often to change my filter,and with over 10,000 miles on my bike I dare say he's wrong AND dumb.I can't believe this guy works on bikes...won't be working on mine!! Took my bike in for its first service appointment/oil change (I'm new to motorcycles) here since it was a lot cheaper than my dealer. My bike was making a strange sound on the road and I asked if they could fix it up, so they listened to the sound and said no problem. When I got the bike back, not only was the original sound there, but it was actually worse. When I confronted them on this they said that it's just a normal sound. The last draw was when I went to leave and found they had fully loosened the clutch play screw, totally changing how the bike shifted. Not only are these people dishonest but they seem to have no regard for safety. read more

I have had work done here in the past and have always been pleased with Pro-Cycle and the owner Jim. I needed new tires on my Suzuki Katana motorcycle. I had done research on my riding style and the tires best suited for me. Jim had some other options already in stock, but I was kind of set on wanting these specific tires. Jim had no problem ordering the specific tires I wanted and I paid the same that I would have ordering them online. I was happy to keep the money local for the tires instead of having to order online anyways. On top of going out his way to get the tires I wanted, he was always available to answer my questions through email. I work at a computer all day and its much easier for me to email about this kind of thing instead of having to call. So I give them 5 stars for being courteous, convenient, and providing excellent customer service. Not to mention, I love the new tires! read more

I had my 1984 Yamaha Virago inspected here. It was refreshing to not have the mechanic looking down his nose at my bike with a stack of sales flyers hanging out of his pocket like at some other shops. I will definately bring my bike here for anything I can't handle myself. read more
