Vertical Endeavors helped me plan a last minute birthday party for my brother's 40th Birthday. There I was less than a week away from his birthday with a guest list of 25 of his closest people and no plans whatsoever. We knew we wanted it to include food and we also wanted to do something fun but not bar related as our guest list included little nieces and nephews. After scouring the internet looking at things like roller rinks, lazer tag, whirly ball, bowling alleys and nothing seemed to work since we also wanted to have food that wasn't gross or not worth it for the price you paid. Cue Vertical Endeavors. They were able to accommodate us even though they require three weeks for notice for large groups. Since we were only a week away and unable to go through their group packages they worked with me to figure out the cheapest way to set up our group. We ended up going with a couple 10 Visit passes and rented gear which worked perfectly. The passes were all day passes and we had several people who did not want to climb but we only had to pay for the ones who were climbing but everyone was able to come participate or spectate. To keep things organized for us they had a sign in sheet for our group at the front and any passes we didn't end up using they saved in their system so that I could use them for a future date. We were all first time climbers so we were only using walls with auto belays but there are several walls for climbers with varying experience! There's also a bouldering area that has different areas of difficulty as well! For the little ones who were to afraid to climb there was a little play area with toys to keep them entertained. So everyone in our party was able to enjoy themselves no matter what age they were! What really sold us for Vertical Endeavors over other places was that they had a large party room that we were able to rent out where we were able to bring our own food! We ended up ordering a spread of my brother's favorite foods and spent the day having fun climbing and eating and celebrating the awesomeness that is my brother. Great place definitely check it out!

Visited here with a friend on a Saturday morning and absolutely loved it! The gym is HUGE and the instructors were friendly. It was our first time so we rented a harness and had a coupon so it was $18/ each for the day. We only stayed for a little over an hour because climbing is super exhausting, but we had a great time! The gym is huge, and there are plenty of auto belays for individual climbers. And a fun variety of climb levels. They also had a lot of bouldering options, but we stuck to the auto belays. Loved this place and can't wait to go back!

We can check 'fear of heights' off my list! They have an informative staff and a variety of levels. I felt safe and prepared before the climbs.

As good as it gets! I used to be on a rock climbing club in college and I thought that was fun, UNTIL I found Vertical Endeavors! This gym is one of the largest I have ever seen and the climbing options are absolutely endless! This gym is very clean and doesn't smell bad like a lot of climbing places. They also have a first-time guest orientation, however, if you are still needing assistance after that, the staff is very helpful and active. Additionally, this gym is very kid-friendly and has easily become my little brother's all time favorite place to come. There are so many options and walls for them to climb! If you are looking for a family fun night, a date with your spouse, or just a new and fun activity to do with your friends, I would honestly recommend this place. Whether you're brand-new or a pro, you will learn something new and enjoy yourself (while benefiting your body!).

Had to make a trip to the largest climbing in the nation. Me and a couple of friends stopped by shortly after they had their bouldering competition so we were excited to try out the comp problems. First off this place is HUGE. Tons and tons of walls with lots of great-looking angles and features. I like how the auto belays are generally clustered in specific areas so that certain walls are free for just top rope or lead climbing. Given that this place is ginormous, I was a little disappointed in the amount of bouldering space that they had. But that seems to be the trend in the midwest with more of a catering towards roped climbing. I was also disappointed that the walls were only 35 feet tall for how vast this place is. One particular gripe I had was how long the orientation was. I would estimate that it took at least 30 minutes. We had to fill out the typical waiver, wait for a group orientation, walk throughout the entire gym, fill out a form saying we completed the orientation, demonstrate that you know how to clip into the auto belay, actually climb a little with the auto belay. At the end we just wanted to start climbing already, but wait, one more thing: you have to have an employee watch you if you want to be "certified" to top out on boulders. I can see how this lengthy orientation could be boring and off-putting for new climbers and kids. I know it's only a one time thing, but at least it could be catered better towards the audience. As a climber of 4+ years I don't think its necessary for me to be told about the difference between top rope, lead, and trad and what bouldering is. It was pretty empty when we were there, but I can only imagine how busy this place can get. The locker rooms are tiny for how big the gym is and the only water fountains are near the locker rooms. It would be nice to have more strategically placed hydration stations, especially since the staff was pretty adamant amount minimizing the amount of clutter on the crash pads and floors, so you can't exactly leave your water bottle sitting around.

As many people as there were, the place never felt too crowded or too small.

Great place to climb. Friendly staff. Only allows Pilot belay device (no more ATCs). Plenty of bouldering, top rope, and lead.

I only dropped in for 1 class, as I don't live in the area (out of state), but if I did, I would definitely join. There seems to be a nice variety of classes offered and I can imagine they are all quite challenging and offer a great total body workout. I tried the Metabolic Circuit class and it definitely kicked my butt. The class focused on a combination of several exercises, each done for 30-seconds with a 20-second recovery in between where you move on to the next exercise in the rotation. Some of the exercises included in the class I took were skull crushers, burpees & pull-ups, weighted squat, bus drivers, TRX push-up to plank, kettlebell snatches, and a shuffle with ball slam. All of which were killer and worked out my entire body. The class began with a short warm-up, followed by 3 complete rounds of each exercise in the circuit. We finished out the class with a 5-minute challenge which included kettlebell swings, air squats, push-ups, bent over rows and sit-ups. AMRAP within 5 minutes. And of course some post-class stretching. Bill is the main trainer. He is very friendly and has great energy. Bill added some humor here & there throughout the class here to keep everyone smiling. He consistently checked in on me during the workout to make sure I was using proper technique for each exercise and helped make adjustments to my form as needed. There were two other trainers on-site as well during the workout encouraging participants and helping with form adjustments to keep everyone safe. Side note: they also offer post-workout nutrition (bars and fresh smoothies), and massage as well. **Didn't snap any pictures as I was pressed for time, and also too busy getting my butt kicked. But Bill snapped some pics and made them into a collage he posted on his Instagram, so I will save and share that one.**

Short and sweet classes (1 hour each) are led by trainers that keeps you moving and burning some serious calories. The Metabolic Circuit class totally kicked my butt the first time I went. The class is set up so you do 30-seconds of an exercise, 20-second recovery through 10 exercises. That's one round. Bill, the owner and one of the trainers, will push you through 3 rounds and then a finisher, which is sure to wear you out. (Battle rope for 3 minutes, anyone?) The boxing classes are SO GOOD. I should note that these classes are boxing fitness classes - this is not a boxing class were you'll end up fighting someone. Most work is done on punching bags, but there's also plenty of other exercises mixed in. Boxing has been my favorite class so far because it's something I had never tried. Discovering it has been a fun experience that doesn't end up feeling like dragging myself to a gym for a class. I can't say too much about the yoga classes because I've only been to one, but it was alright. I'm much more interested in the circuit and boxing classes. The thing that really makes this gym special is the people. Since it's class based, you see the same people almost every time you go. They are a welcoming group and very encouraging. I was blown away that the group cheered me on as I finished my finisher in my first circuit class. Bill has made an awesome gym and an even better atmosphere and community to be a part of.
