I am reluctant to make this review because I don't want the classes to be so full, but honestly this place deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Nestled by the Wheaton train station (where they have a French market every Saturday), this small studio is impressive. I've been going to tribalance for some time, but found this studio that's closer to me and more my vibe. I used to practice Bikram (before the scandal) in Cali and this place has that cool Cali/city vibe. It's immaculately clean and the showers have such good water pressure. The classes are what you expect them to be, HOT, intense, and oh so rewarding. My joints and back always feel phenomenal after class. And the staff are so warm and friendly. Shout out to Becky and Agata for their continued support in my yoga journey. Pro tip: On Saturdays (while the French market is open), give yourself a half an hour extra from the time you usually leave your home as parking can be challenging, and you don't want to be late. Though I've always found parking, it did take more time. read more

I decided (nervously) to return to yoga practice after an 8 year hiatus. I dipped my foot in the water with senior yoga at the Elmhurst location. Debbie (who turned out to be one of the owners) was the instructor. The class was great. Debbie gave tips to modify poses for more and less difficult variations which I find VERY helpful. She had a calming and pleasant demeanor. After class she said that maybe I should try traditional yoga (Next's version of bikram) since she felt it would suit me better. She was right!!!! I've been going twice a wwek to the Wheaton location and love it! Casey and Sarah are fabulous instructors. If you are thinking about returning to yoga or trying it, you will not be disappointed by Next. It is a great place! read more

The staff here is shockingly rude. I stopped in with my daughter to buy a bottle of water. We received no greeting upon entering the establishment, just a glaring look. The response when I asked to make my purchase was "we don't accept cash, the farmer's market is over there". Not a single word of gratitude or appreciation was offered after buying the water. Not a single thank you mentioned. Wow, I haven't encountered this kind of racism in a long time. I am a Black woman, my daughter is biracial. Take your business elsewhere! This is not the kind of business that belongs in a nice, warm community like Wheaton! read more

I attended one of the free community classes a few weeks ago. I am towards the beginner end of the spectrum in my practice and I was not thrilled with the experience. First, the room was packed with the mats really close together. Before and after class the locker area seemed crowded and chaotic. The people who practice here are serious yogis. I felt that it was a little too intense for me. However, it was a good workout and I sweat a lot!! read more

There's something at this yoga studio for everyone. No matter what class I take I'm always feeling refreshed and mentally stimulated. I've been out of the Yoga game for a while and it's so nice to have found this spot and get back into my practice. I bought a Groupon to try it out for 3 weeks and fell in love right away. Officially two months in- It's clean and the staff is VERY friendly and knowledgeable. The Yoga Sculpt class is a great one hour power class that really challenges you. The Restorative Class is also a great way to stretch out a long day. The class is in the evening and helps with lengthening the muscles so you don't feel tight when you wake up first thing in the morning. They offer interesting seminars as well. Have yet to make it to one but am excited to do so. They've got nice showers so people can come on their lunch break, shower, and head back to work/straight to work after a class. One of my favorite places on this planet right now (no joke)! From the variety of classes, instructors and varied schedule, there really is something for everyone. And I may be biased, but it's hard to find a cleaner studio in the tri-State area. I walk in to other studios now when I travel for work, and it just doesn't feel the same. And the form! Talk. A. Bout. Form! It's so important in yoga, and these folks are here to make sure that even if you don't know what you're doing, you'll still learn and grow. Met a friend who lives in Elmhurst and the class was very good

My journey to NEXT yoga started as a simple "Yelp" Takeover from a friend invite, and I couldn't have been more pumped. NEXT is amazing - located right on Liberty Street in Wheaton, it's within steps from the train. Large, floor to length windows give you an inside glimpse to the possibilities that greet you within. First step inside, the front desk is off to the right where you check in with a staff member. And as you gaze to your left, a brightly lit narrow room holds soft chairs and traditional merchandise for the yogi's at heart. Tall, soft cubby holes are waiting to cradle your coats, shoes and socks before you enter the studio. The actual room we practiced in contained mirrors in the front of the room, which can be a little intimidating for first-timers. The floor has a "wood" appearance, but the texture is soft underneath your feet. That particular evening, it was a Free Community class that was instructed by Kristin, and it was taught on an intermediate level. Side planks, Crow pose, and Sun A and B flows were all incorporated. The actual room was extremely crowded and mat to mat interaction was within a couple of inches of each other. The music was a high, fast paced theme to the direction of the poses and the air in the room was warm. As each droplet of sweat collects on your forehead and mat, it creates a level of pure intensity and ecstasy, that takes your practice to a new level. You feel aware and challenged in your surroundings, and all you can think at about it what you're doing in that very moment. The actual cool down process was well-loved, with a cold lavender scented washcloth that took place on your forehead. It was a savasana to remember. Beginners may find this class challenging - but isn't that what life is all about? read more

Love this studio and highly recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their practice - or just begin one! I've been doing yoga consistently for about 5 years now and off and on for over 15, and I would say that Next Yoga consistently offers challenging yet welcoming classes, creative sequencing, and a very kind and "zen" atmosphere. It's not a cookie cutter studio by any means, and all of the instructors are of the utmost quality and definitely dedicated to their practice. Their name, Next Yoga, is so appropriate, because I feel that this was the next step I personally needed to take to enrich my practice as a yogi. Lauren is simply amazing, as is Mackenzie, Sean, Jackie, and Casey (just haven't taken all the other instructors' classes - these are the ones I am most familiar with). And the community itself is very welcoming, diverse in levels, and friendly. I would definitely not hesitate recommending them to someone just beginning their practice. And while vinyasa is my drug of choice, I have tried the sculpt classes here (Joann is fabulous!) and love them as well. Plus they offer a number of unique workshops throughout the calendar year. All in all, you'll walk out of here dripping in sweat and trying to recall, to no avail, what silly thing was irritating/stressing you out earlier in the day. Go get yourself some zen ;) read more

My first yoga experiences have been at the Next Yoga in Wheaton. Although I don't have anything to compare it to, I don't think I'll ever be able to go anywhere else since I love it so much! Every staff member is super friendly and helpful. It is evident that they all truly enjoy being there. My favorite class is the Traditional Hot. Lauren is AMAZING. The only reasons that I'm not giving it 5 stars; -There's only one studio which results in less classes. I can really only go early in the mornings or later in the evenings, as I work full time. I wish that they could offer more classes at these hours so that I could come every day!!! -It was very difficult to get ahold of someone when I first inquired. Being new to yoga, I wasn't familiar with any specific level of courtesy and didn't want to just walk in and interrupt anyone. So I left numerous voicemails over a 2 week period before someone finally got back to me. read more

I LOVE this studio. I am a yoga teacher myself so I'm pretty picky. It is on par with the amazing places I can only find in downtown Chicago. It has the feel of those urban studios as well. I used to go to those kinds of studios when I worked in the Loop and was sad when my rotation ended and I switched locations. I'm a person who is majorly impacted by ambiance, and this place is exactly my style and makes me love it much more than the other hot studios in the burbs. It offers different levels of heat so you can choose how sweaty you get. It also offers a good blend of vinyasa, restorative, "traditional" which is bikrahm like (which I'm really not a fan of at all, but I know some people live and die by this style!), and yoga/weight's classes (even a non yoga bootcamp class, which I havent taken but its great they offer variety) The owners are super friendly and learned my face very quickly and the instructors are very competent and very friendly and personable. I have yet to take a class with an instructor that I didn't like (and there's usually always one at every studio that I just don't like their classes for some reason)! The only con, which can happen every where and isn't really the fault of the studio (so it still gets 5 stars!), is because it's very close to a college you do get a few college kids who have never taken a yoga class who can be very loud/ giggly/chatty in the studio before (when it's supposed to be a quite meditative space) which I get it's good to have fun but it can be distracting and is a huge pet peeve of mine, when before class when I'm trying to "arrive on my mat" and settle in after a long day at work. It's only happened once or twice and the studio has a big sign on the studio door to be quite, and the staff is usually pretty good at reminding new folks of this, but I think it happens more with college kids than when you draw from a slightly more mature crowd. Overall the best studio in the area, and the one suburban one I will go to. I promptly canceled my other memberships and joined this one. read more

The studio floor is soft, which is amazing because I've been using studios with that concrete floor and it messes with my knees. I took some hot yoga classes with two different instructors, both of them were really good, the vibes were great, the temp was great every time, the place seems clean, I was able to really focus and I didn't feel like I had to push past my limit. Without a doubt my favorite yoga studio! Everyone on staff is so nice and has done so much to help me improve my practice. Restorative is my favorite class quickly followed by N2 and yoga sculpt. I'm also a big fan of their special workshops like restore with hot stones and glow in the dark yoga. Each summer they host an awesome Root to Rise yoga festival which is the perfect way to spend a day outside with the yoga community. read more

I've been taking classes at NEXT for a few years, and love it. Great teachers, good variety of classes, and a wide range of times available. Personal favorites are the yin/restorative classes (I'm a distance runner, and I need the stretch), the Saturday afternoon sound meditation (so relaxing), and the Power 2 classes (great variety of poses). I am happy that I can also get my strength training taken care of as well with the early morning bootcamp classes, and I make it to the Elmhurst studio occasionally to be able to fit in aerial yoga as well. If a more traditional hot yoga is more your thing, they have that, too, along with yoga sculpt and a handful of other classes (gentle, senior, and Power 1 yoga). This is the best yoga studio I have found! After two years of practicing yoga, I walked in to Next Yoga pretty nervous about my return. The instructor was welcoming, warm and understanding while still being motivating. "Take it at the pace you need, not what everyone else is doing", he said. The class was awesome and the instructor does help with poses if you need it. The studio has such a great atmosphere as well! It is beautiful with a very calming atmosphere. Never thought I would get into yoga, but in my stage of life with a long hour desk job and undergoing a lot of stress, I needed something to ease my troubles! I found that place. Not only am I right down the road from it (easy to walk to) but the place is clean, peaceful and has a great spa-like feeling. I also have enjoyed every instructor I have had the pleasure to do my practice under. As someone who hasn't had much yoga experience, I find each class to be open to my level and a continuous challenge knowing I have plenty room to grow.
