My family and I was visiting from Lousiville in town for my daughters cheer comp. We was checking out the main street area, specifically the public art scene. The side of this establishment has a cool angel wings mural. My 11 and 13 year old noticed the shop was open and asked to Come in. I said sure. You walk in and the place smelled amazing. Great scents coming from some of the handmade soaps and lotions I assume. Store was very well up-kept and larger on the inside then I would have anticipated. Very spacious place. Pricing here was very high. Especially in a smaller town like Evansville. Lousiville has some little hand made shops like this and they are high in price but this one seemed more expensive then the ones in Lousiville even. For instance a pair of plain black shorts gym style shorts my daughter thought was cute were $55. A small woven baby rattler the girls was interested in for our new born was just Under $20. High pricing for hand made goods and local business I can understand and get with to an extent. My issue with this place was the service here. Outside of greeting us when we walked in the two ladies here made me and my girls feel like we wasn't welcomed or didn't belong. As my girls was browsing the workers kept shooting eyeballs of judgement and worry and lingering behind without speaking or acknowledging them. I kinda noticed This so I walked over to them My girls also noticed This and said something to me. Usually I tell them they are just being paranoid teens thinking all Adults are out to get them. But I had actually Noticed this too and just told them to ignore it and they weren't doing anything wrong. There was also an incident where in the very back of the shop is a sliding door that looks like an area where they may make some items like soaps using the scents. The door was wide open and I assumed was part of the shop. I walk to the door and one of the ladies whips around and gently slides it closed right in front of me without saying a word. So now I feel unwelcome too. I immediately left. I had intended on letting my girls pick out some scented lotions or soaps and let them get from her and also let them get there baby sister one of the cute little rattlers. Yes, I felt they was overpriced. However, I like supporting small local places and we was on a small out of town trip so I don't mind spoiling (if you want to see how spoiled my girls are I'm sure you can pick any random week of my Yelp activity and see). But the vibe here was bad and we all felt like we was treated like low class citizens. So we left and spent our time and money at other local shops and places to eat over the weekend.
