I've driven by this restaurant a hundred times but on a Sunday night I finally stopped. The atmosphere was great! I the pictures, wine bottles racks on the wall, decorative guitars but the icing on the cake was the small stage for live music. The service was amazing! Our waitress was attentive and gave us great recommendations. The food was amazing and we definitely got our money's worth. The portion size was large and the food tasted really good. Service is extremely slow because the restaurant is running with insufficient staffing and too much is being handled by a single person--waiting/serving at all tables, taking drink orders, making drinks, and seating guests. The fix is to add staff (and/or re-assign duties) so one person isn't responsible for the entire guest flow. read more

This place used to be so delicious! This closed for a really long time and has since reopened, I guess it's under new management. The atmosphere is off the food is terrible! How do you cook with no seasoning in a Caribbean restaurant. I would clearly avoid this place, don't take my word come and see and then post a review. Sooooo disappointed! Also the bar tender is absolute worst....Lastly, watch the owner, manager dude sneeze, wiped his hand across his nose like a Kleenex. A time was had at Versace! A group of friends and family attended to celebrate our friend's birthday and the restaurant did NOT disappoint. Upon entry the interior and patio spaces are decorated very aesthetically pleasing with floral walls, sitting areas and neon signage throughout the restaurant. We were seated near the live band's stage. Versace has live music every Friday and Saturday from 8PM - 11ish. We had a large party and the staff was very accommodating. The restaurant appears to be accommodating to large parties which is nice since that's pretty difficult to find these days. They offer a complimentary soup to start the meal which was very rich in taste. I ordered a passionfruit mojito to drink but eventually switched to a standard mojito because it was a bit too sweet. My husband had the margarola to drink which is a margarita with a beer of your choice placed on top. The birthday girl also ordered the appetizer sampler with yuca, plantain, pork bites, fried cheese and salami which was very flavorful. For our entrees I ordered the churrasaco con pure de papa. It was very flavorful. I asked for the flank steak to be cook medium but it seemed a bit medium well. My husband had the tilapia with yellow rice and enjoyed the dish. It was a bit confusing how they phrase the side options on the menu as we thought we would receive a house salad with both of our dishes but were told it only came with some rice entrees. The live band was PHENOMENAL and we danced a good bit of the night on the dance floor. We will definitely be back. read more

Very cute aesthetic for a Lawrenceville restaurant. Kept seeing this when it first opened and then saw it on TikTok and finally decided to go. Came late on a Thursday with my date and was seated promptly. The service was really nice and our waitress Patricia was super friendly and knowledgeable so shoutout to her! I love Latin American food so I was excited to eat here but surprisingly, the menu was a bit meh to me. I settled on the churassco with the monfongo while my date got the shrimp monfongo. The food was meh. I didn't hate it but I wasn't super in love with it. The steak was well seasoned. I ordered it medium rare but it came out more well done which was eh but not bad. The monfongo was the star of the show for both of us and we really liked that one. Overall, I think I'd come here for drinks and light eats with live music than specifically for the food but I'm excited to see how this restaurant grows with age. read more

We were craving a taste of the island and took a little foodie road trip to Lawrenceville since there aren't many Dominican spots nearby. And let me tell you--this spot brought back all the feels. First things first--you already know we had to start the night right with a cold Presidente. That ice-cold bottle hit like nostalgia. I went full throwback and ordered a classic chimi--and asked them to wrap it in aluminum foil like the ones I used to grab from the food trucks up north. That soft-pan toasted pan de agua, seasoned beef patty, tangy slaw, ketchup-mayo mix, and Dominican oregano in every bite? Straight fire. Then came the Mofongo con Chicharrón y Skirt Steak--a mountain of mashed green plantains loaded with crispy pork chunks, served alongside tender, juicy grilled skirt steak. Drizzle that extra garlicky chimichurri sauce and you're in heaven. Don't skip the sauce--it's a must! Even though it's hot out, we couldn't resist a bowl of Sancocho--Dominican-style stew made with a medley of meats, root vegetables, corn, and rich, savory broth. Every spoonful was like a warm hug from abuela. Now, the one miss for us was the Chankleta Kan Kan--that deep-fried, bone-in pork belly. We were hyped for that crispy crunch-meets-juicy interior, but sadly it came out over-fried and a bit dry. Props to the management, though--they were gracious and took care of it without hesitation. I'm surprised to see this location only has 2.5 star review because I've been twice and had a great experience. It's a beautiful restaurant compared to the Lilburn location. We had the same waitress twice and she was lovely both times. The food doesn't take long at all. My friend had the salmon and I took a bite of that and I thought it was really good! The portions are big enough and I've always had left overs. I love the starter soup. I am Dominican so I thoroughly enjoyed this spot. I really wanted to love it... I'd been waiting on this place to open for quite some time. I'd seen their signage go up and all kinds of cute finishing touches on the exterior. So, I was literally excited. My excitement grew when they finally opened and I stepped inside. It's a cute little place, and they happened to have live band the night we went. But, the food was a let down for me. While I've had all types of Caribbean food, I will say this was my first time having Dominican food. Versace has a very extensive menu. I settled on the Churassco. I found my food to be dry. I expected more flavor. It was literally just ok. I also got to taste the ceviche. Again, it needed more flavor. And, I was disappointed. I will say that the owner came over and introduced himself which was a nice touch. I will try them one more time before just giving up. But, I do hope it goes better than the first time. read more

My sisters took me here for the first time yesterday for my birthday. The ambiance was great, we were the only ones there for lunch. We had the fried chicken, tostones, maduros, Dominican rice, white rice, beans and yuca. For dessert, I ordered the strawberry cheesecake. Everything was flavorful and yummy especially the chicken and Dominican rice. But I want to point out, service could have been better. We had to ask for additional plates, takeout containers and an extra bag. However, will definitely return but this time for the band they will have this Saturday. read more

We ordered a specific chicken dish and the sent us chicken tiny pieces rolled in flour. The ambiance was nice and the staff were friendly. The captain of the restaurant knew were not happy with the food and he did nothing to address our concerns and we took our food to go once we tried a few bit. You ask why did we go to both restaurants to give them a chance. Not sure who's cooking in the back but this was not Dominican food. Not sure if they serve alcohol. Please rethink this place. These are quid pro quo reviews ! Beware of double charges and dishonest behavior here ! I was charged twice for the same meal and when I brought it to their attention -- with receipts proving the duplicate charge -- the staff acted as if it never happened. Instead of resolving the issue, they escalated it unnecessarily and even called the police on me for calmly requesting a refund. Absolutely unacceptable. I have full documentation of the double charge and will be reporting this fraudulent behavior to the appropriate consumer protection agencies. Proceed with caution !!! To make matters worse, I've been a repeat customer -- and the way I was treated is beyond fucking me! Being dismissed and criminalized instead of having a clear billing error corrected is outrageous. Phenomenal Dominican food! Excellent mofongo and excellent service. Also an impressive bar for a Latin restaurant. We have had Ninoska multiple times and she's also excellent. This is one of the only places in the area open late. They stay open until 1am on weekends and have live music. read more

I was so excited to have a Versace near me but was really disappointed when I went to visit during their grand opening. I went in with 4 other guests and we waited 45 mins for our appetizer to arrive. By the time I was done eating my food, my husband's food started coming out. I understand it was their grand opening so waiting on the food didn't bother me as much as them having so many pricing errors/ menu errors. After expressing our concerns to a manager she implies that we were lying about the menu with the errors and had a horrible attitude and laughed in our faces read more

Came to the grand opening. Lots of mistakes, lots of wait times, messed up orders etc..expected, but what turned me off was one of manager's attitude. She laughed and basically called my sister a liar because of an error and miscommunication with staff. I'm still shocked at the attitude and rudeness and mocking over THEIR mistake (apparently their systems went down). Do not recommend. I was looking forward to it, being Dominican and having Versace closer. But they need to work on training managers better read more
