It was time to do the PM replacement of the timing belt for my 20218 Honda Ridgeline. I obtained…read moreproposals from several local repair shops and the proposal from Bullets was among the most competitive. After selecting the 3 lowest proposals I visited each of those three shops to see their operation. Bullets Automotive has the feel of a small town business with big town capabilities. This is a family run business with two additional employees that I witnessed are treated like family. The owner, Bullet, feeds the employees a grilled or smoked lunch every day. He shows them that they are valued. That is important as happy employees tend to care more about their work and helping to grow the reputation of the business. Bullet's spouse handles the office very capably. While visiting the shop I witnessed her negotiating with a warranty company on behalf of another customer. It was easy to tell that she is knowledgeable and skilled at dealing with the warranty companies and the hoops through which they put customers and repair facilities. The job for my vehicle was scheduled for the following week and they accepted my vehicle on time. The maintenance was performed and completed within the promised amount of time and at the cost that was quoted. No Surprises. The total extent of the work was to replace the timing belt, water pump and pullies as well as replace the serpentine belt. Bullet saved the replaced parts and offered them for my review. The job was done well. Having moved to Florida from the north where I was connected and knew where to get the services I needed for anything there was a bit of angst associated with the process of finding a good, honest auto repair facility. I think that this is a trustworthy repair facility that does good work for a fair price. Bullets Automotive has earned my business and I will continue to use them.

After 6 months and several jobs done we are disillusioned with Bullet Automotive. We have had to…read moretake our vehicle back several times to have the "fix" fixed, charged $200 on a average more than originally agreed upon, picking up our vehicle just to have pieces dragging on the ground, a control arm so poorly installed the shop we took it to after suffering an intense shimmy said "you should buy a lottery ticket, it's a miracle the wheel did not fall off!" The reason for two stars is we are somewhat complicit for continuing to go back. Beware of Bullets; I would steer clear, pun intended. You can trust me, this is our experience with them. ;D

It was time for me to purchase a new jeep so I contacted Bruce Ryan, Sales Representative @ Vatland. ****Bruce Ryan is incredibly knowledgeable, very professional, and And I was treated like a VIP!!! I couldn't be happier with my choice, and the service provided in purchasing this vehicle was outstanding!

It all started a few months ago when I posted on FB that I was looking for a mechanic to service my Jeeps transmission, front and rear differentials and the transfer case. I bought my Jeep 2 years ago with 99,000 miles and didn't have any records on maintenance. As a former mechanic of 22 years I normally do my own work. However, doing all 4 units would be time consuming and messy, so I decided to have someone else do it. Big jobs like this require access to more tools than I have. ANYWAY, I wasn't getting any good suggestions from FB but a friend said "I take my Jeep to Vatland and don't have a problem with them" unfortunately he didn't to tell me his jeep is leased and only goes there for oil changes! So unaware of that fact I made an appointment with Vatland to have all these services done. I talked to the so called service advisor two weeks prior who took my appointment and I requested that an A mechanic work on my jeep. He said he would note it and not to worry he would take care of it.  On the day of the appointment I dropped off my Jeep at 745am I left the keys in the car and went into there so called service department where the gentlemen inside ask if he could help and I gave him my name. He proceeded to look me up in the computer and commented that all my information was there for the appointment and then he  ask for my keys and I said there in my Jeep. That was the last time I had any conversation with him until 445pm that evening. I called at 2pm to check on my Jeep and the receptionist put me through his voicemail but I didn't receive a call back until 445pm from him saying my car is done come pick it up. (RED FLAG 1 RIGHT THERE!) I had to get a ride so I didn't get to the dealership until 510pm. Upon arriving to the dealership I noticed my Jeep wasn't to be found out side . I went into the SO CALLED serviec department and the gentleman who I talked to at 745am said "can I help you" (2nd RED FLAG) when he finally recognized me he said "oh, your car is just about done it will be a few minutes" (RED FLAG 3). I thought you said it was done? I said. His response "there just topping off the fluids". (RED FLAG 4)To move things along I paid my bill and went outside to wait. AT 540pm my jeep came rolling around and the mechanic parked it and I got in and drove away.  I drove to my friends house and parked in their driveway and stayed the night. I got up the next morning and went home and parked in my drive way for the day.  Five hours passed then I left to pick up my friend at the previous housewhen I arrived I noticed a large oil spot where I parked the night before. I immediately looked under my Jeep and discovered an active leak of transmission fluid coming from the back of my transmission pan. I drove to my house and when got there I found a large spot on my driveway also. I got in my car and drove to Vatland. Upon arriving at Vatland I went into the so called service department, went and stood in front of the guy who took care of me, as he looked at me, it took a long minute before he recognized me. (RED FLAG 5) I told him I had an active leak of trans fluid under my Jeep. He said lets put it on the lift and see what the problem was. He said meet me at the bay! (What Bay?) I walked through the shop and found the bay he was talking about,  himself and what looked like another tech put my Jeep up in the air and we proceeded to inspect the leak. Being a former mechanic for 22 year it was obvious to me that the leak was coming from the back of the transmission pan. At that time I looked around to see if there were any other leaks and noticed that there were no tool/scuff marks on any of the bolts that hold the differential covers so I asked the advisor what the deal was and he said" we drain and fill them we don't take the covers off. (Hense, the reason for the the first post!) At that time I looked at the Transfer case and I said "This doesn't even looked like it was touched!" The advsor called over the mechanic and the mechanic said,"I didn't service the Transfer case cause it wasn't on the RO" I looked down at the RO/invoice and it said Drive line service frt and rear differentials Transfer case. NOW we're talking "FRAUD" Charging me for a service that wasn't performed whether the advisor was unaware of it or not is still "FRAUD by incompetence!!!!" It may not be a chargeable crime but in essense its still a crime! (RED FLAG 6) Needless to say I left my car there for them to fix what they screwed up demanding a loaner for which they gave me at no charge and went home to wait. "24 HOURS LATER I PICKED UP MY JEEP" I'm not sure they did any of the services I paid over $800.00 for so I'm still looking for an honest shop or maybe I should just try and do it myself. Obviously my Jeep needs to be checked by professionals
